    I bought a Landroid Worx in 2016 on a 15 ares plot of land, partly sloping. The robot is still operational, just a battery change after 5 years (65 EUR) and some blades to be turned once a month. No more cost of petrol or maintenance (spark plugs, oil). The grass is greener, no more grass collection, no more fertiliser, no more moss, and even the moles are gone.

    I just started thinking about getting an automower and looks like WORKS offer a balance between price and features. But those exposed charging terminals made me worry about kids and animals. Are these terminals constantly under voltage? or just when the robot is docked? Another question - what about rain? is it on to have robot sitting in the rain, like staying outdoor all season?
    Thank you

    • @trafegon
      @trafegon  4 года назад +2

      The tension is low, I believe there is absolutely no danger.
      The robot can stay out all summer season long. I did it last year and I didn't have any problems. This year I decided to build a small shelter DIY because I was sorry to keep it in the rain and the scorching sun.

    Would it work cutting the wire and wrapping around a tree so it doesn’t constantly run into it?

    • @trafegon
      @trafegon  4 года назад

      Hi, yes you can create an island with wire, in this way the robot will not hit the tree.
      Otherwise there is also the ACS device that allows the robot to avoid obstacles (it will not be necessary to create an island with the wire).
      I made a video on ACS system that you find here: ruclips.net/video/3cYzDMV9UL8/видео.html
      Thanks for your helpful comment and for watching the video.

  • @BogdanSladaru
    @BogdanSladaru 2 года назад

    What happens with the grass it cuts? Is there any box/reservoir to collect it (like regular lawn mowers), or it just leaves the grass there? If it leaves it there, do you need to go and manually collect it from time to time? I know it should decay, but I'm not sure if it's fast enough.

    • @pmcccar
      @pmcccar 2 года назад +1

      hey, yes it is fast enough to decay, you have to consider that you probably cut your grass once a week or go longer between cuts resulting in a lot more grass shavings to pick up. Imagine now you have this mower out every day (minus rainy days), the shavings are almost negligible and are great fertilizer for the grass itself. No reservoir to hold grass to answer your question this is a "set it and leave it" type setup. good luck.

    Hello, I would like to ask you if in your opinion it makes sense to place the perimeter wire slightly closer to the wall to reduce and in some cases eliminate the space where it does not pass and leaves the grass. Thank you.

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB Год назад +1

      10cm from an edge it can drive onto. 26cm from a wall or ditch that it needs to avoid hitting. @trafegon is not correctly using the cardboard measuring template. The 0 should be on either the wire or the edge, and the appropriate mark for the necessary distance is the other point.

    It's 21st century and we have to fuck around with some stupid wire. GPS and wifi is everywhere they are cheaper than dirt. I wonder will there be a company who can combine all the existing technologies in a proper way and offer a really functional and easy to use lawnmower... God damn, with vacuum cleaners that plot the map of the apartment using lidar modern lawnmowers look pathetic.

      @@trafegon Molte grazie, posso sapere il costo dell'accessorio? Scusa se faccio tante domande, ma essendo che è una spesa abbastanza importante voglio essere sicuro prima di farla.

      @@trafegon ripeto, come da manuale da te linkato, la squadra serve solo per gli ostacoli. Non serve per gli angoli del giardino. Ho il worx da 2 anni in 4 giardini e funziona così. Inoltre è ben specificato nel manuale: guarda pagina 11...

    • @trafegon

      @@931327 Si può fare anche senza, non dico di no, il robot fa in ogni caso la svolta a 90° per seguire il perimetro. Se però vogliamo essere perfezionisti e avere un angolo a 90° ben definito (che sia un ostacolo o un angolo del perimetro poco importa, sempre un angolo è) allora va fatto con il triangolo. Da manuale: "Se nel tuo giardino ci sono angoli a 90° che guardano verso l’interno del prato, usa la squadretta di Bertelsen e aiuta Landroid a compiere
      angoli a 90° perfetti (inoltre elimini il rischio che Landroid colpisca un ostacolo sul bordo del prato mentre fa questa manovra)."

      It’s not the same price when you factor in a shed that you’ll need to store the tractor. I’d rather buy this and free up room in my garage

    Not very impressive. It leaves a lot of grass near obstacles such as green houses or footpaths that still need manual cutting.

      Without robot: 3 hours of work every 10 days.
      With robot: 15 minutes of work every 10 days (to finish edges).
      In a summer season many hours are saved!
