Its not as easy as it looks. When you actually try in person you get anxiety and try to avoid the bamboo that might cause you to go off beat and make a mistake. My friend hurt her ankle and took a couple of days to heal.

Filipinos like their dances Hardcore. Tinikling - dancing with bamboos trying to clip your feet Singkil - trying to tell a love story while doing a fan dance and bamboos trying to clip your feet Sayaw sa Banko - dancing on top of multiple levels of thin benches Pandanggo sa ilaw - dancing while balancing a candle on top of your head and you can't catch them with your hands if it falls because guess what you're holding candles on both hands too
Don't forget the Binasuan. With a glass of Coconut wine on your head and both hands. Once it drop the juice is also everywhere and it's slippery to dance. Not to mention the broken glasses. Our teacher let us practice with a can of Alaska milk. The technique is to look far away so you won't rattle. I miss those days. Hahahaha
Many years ago while serving in the United States Air Force on Clark Air Base in the Philippine Islands, friends and I went to Pagasan Falls for a holiday break and I “”tried” this bamboo dance. Nowhere near as professional as these dancers! They are fantastic!!

Wow! They are amazing😍 I used to dance this when I was in elem and hi sch.. it brings back memories haha.. It's great that they showed our cultural dance to others! Kudos!
I just love the whole experience dancing this but ... Bamboo clipping my toes they're crazy hehehe
Remember my highschool days.We used to perform this.Proud to a Filipino.Hope to see you.
That's a tough dance... one wrong move and you're injured...😆... Philippines❤❤❤🇵🇭
Fast thinking and fast movement dance. Mind and body coordination with art and charm -- That's one of the essence of Filipino culture.
So glad they all came out alive.
NZer here - wonderful dance!
The music is lovely too - the Spanish influence coming through there!
Great dance moves awesome intro..keep on vlogging.
Looks easy. But believe me, I actually had a hard time avoiding to be hit by those bamboo poles when I was in High School. Timing, presence of mind and agility. These three must go hand in hand to do it safely and gracefully. Don't forget love what you're doing.
Way to go!!! 👏👏👏🇵🇭🇺🇸
Wow, ng gagaling nila! 👏👏👏👍👍👍 Masmahirap yatang version yung sinayaw nila. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! God bless the Philippines and the U.S.A. 🇵🇭🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏
@@narcisacallos5220 Thank you po!
Ohhh the tinikling dance. I use to dance when I was in elementary and high school days. From kalahi, pandango sa ilaw and many more... 💕🇵🇭 Those my memories from my childhood in the Philippines.
Yes especially during Linggo ng Wika. =)
@@DimacFamily oh yeah. The Filipino week or day.
Mabuhay ang pambansang sayaw ng Pilipinas.

There's this dance called "Bamboo dance" (of the Mizo tribe) in the North Eastern states (the origin being Mizoram) of India, that utilizes bamboos in a criss-crossing set up, which has, I believe, similar footsteps to this dance.
Pro tinikling dancers use that set up too but that's on a different level. And tiring XD
How sad!! So India was the originated of this kind of dances. Poor Filipino. Walan palang sarili atin. Tinawag lng na Tinikling pero India pala original nyan. How pathetic
@@easternserenity4472 most cultures around are just borrowed around the world, know? Europeans wouldn't be the same without Greece and the Roman empire, and Japan and Korea we know will be very different without China
@@easternserenity4472 hahah magkaiba ang footsteps tol. 4/4 yung Cheraw, yung tinikling 3/4. Kung nasayaw mo na to dati tas pinanood mo yung sa Cheraw ng malapitan makikita mo ang pagkakaiba

Amazing Dance!!!! Thank you all dancers
To be in USA!!!!
Youll know if that loud heavy bamboo sticks did not make a sound it means u snapped😂
I am a filipino and i miss dancing this traditional dance🎶💃
So proud of you! Love it! ❤
The music sounds like the Bayanihan. The rotating clapping sticks is great. The dancers were phenomenal and kept up their smiles.
Well done, troupe!
This could be a really fun past time game
Tinikling while bamboos are turning around is quite an innovation and a feat. Galing galing!
Who knew tinikling could be used as Cardio?!
Sobrang galing nila halatang hasa na sila. Nagustuhan ko rin ginawa ni ate nung nagkamali siya sumayaw siya pero tinuloy parin ang pagtinikling kakaproud kayo ♥️
Salamat.
Impressive!! 💐 💐 💐
Thank you! 😊
Tinikling is one of the hardest Filipino folk dances. You guys did great 👍
This video brought tears to my eyes. Homesick in Silicon Valley CA. 😷😂😷
🤗
it's easy when you really practice it with or without music. here in the Philippines, Elementary from High School we learn Tinikling. It's hard but it's fun, you don't really need to look down be because it's a deduction.
Beautiful dancing
Thank you 🥰
THAT'S PHILIPPINES NATIONAL DANCE AND I'M PROUD OF IT. GREAT PERFORMANCE !!!!!
Wonderful
The dance means from Philippines where the (the one who avoids the bamboo)birds try to avoid the trap set by farmers.
Hope it helps
This made Me remember when We danced pandanggo Sa ilaw and we really used real candles, We had a curtain on our back and my classmate almost bumped into it and it would’ve caused a fire but gladly if didn’t, Watching this just gives me anxiety lol
I’m proud to be a part of Filipina -(o) blood.
My Mother Is From Tadian Mtn. Province Philippines.
I'm a Filipina but, I never dance this Tinikling. The basic tinikling which I know is only the tinikling in the game "Chinese Garter"😆😆😆
I remember when we perform this is School, AT first we do tinikling without looking down and we need to SMILE and we do rotational tinikling but in the end, we need to blind fold our Eyes and dance tinikling and Surpricingly, WE WONNnNN!!
