Ne-Yo takes back apology over transphobic comments

- R&B superstar Ne-Yo posted a video on his Instagram revoking his apology for making comments about transgender children which were regarded as transphobic.
This comes after the singer’s apology received even more backlash, and claims the apology was written by his publicist instead of himself.
“I have no beef with the LBGTQIA+ community whatsoever, I ain’t got no beef with you all, do whatever the hell it is you want to do, do what you want to do with your kids,” he said.
“However, somebody asked my opinion on this matter and this is how I feel, I will never be okay with allowed a child to make a decision that detrimental to their life.
“I will never be okay with that, I don’t care - I definitely plan to educate myself a little bit more on this matter, however, I doubt that there’s any book anywhere, or any opinion that somebody’s going to tell me that’s going to make me okay with letting a child make a decision like that.”
Sky News host Rita Panahi spoke to Sky News contributor Kosha Gada on the R&B superstar’s controversial comments and apology.

He said NOTHING "transphobic" he basically said kids can not make life altering decisions. If kids can't watch an R rated movie, how can we allow them to cut off body parts?
Once you are an adult, do whatever you want, but a 3 year old can NOT make those decisions.

I grew up with 5 brothers and I was convinced at 8 that I wanted to be a boy and do everything they did like run around without a shirt, get haircuts and urinate standing up. My father wasn't having any of that and I am grateful for it. Fast forward I became a boy band obsessed fan who loved make up and dresses. I didn't have the understanding or thinking skills to know that just because you may want the things and or to engage in activities associated with a specific gender doesn't mean you are that gender and that I may eventually become bored with these things and activities and move onto something else. Adults do know this so it's irresponsible to act on the whims of a child when it comes to something as serious as changing genders. I think about how effed up my entire life would have been had my parents changed my gender just because I wanted to climb trees and play football with the boys.
I always liked Neyo's music. Also he doesn't control his twitter account, some weirdo publicist does and made that apology on his behalf which Neyo took back straight away and said it wasn't him and then doubled down on what he said "I have 5 sons, keep that away from me"

I can see Neo point. However what he and a lot of people are missing is that if a child is thinking about transitioning before puberty begins, they're not making the decision all by themselves. Kids are going through massive amounts of therapy and they have teams of doctors and other people working with them alongside the parents to make sure that this is something they truly want to do. even later on in life as adults when they decide to transition they're still forced to go through massive amounts of therapy which is traumatic in it of itself. I agree with him that two and three and four and five years old is a way too young of an age to talk about transitioning. However if a child truly believes that their gender identity is so mismatched and that they want to transition, you have to find a balance to wear if the kid decided later on in life that they didn't like it they could always reverse it. There are ways of transitioning if you go about it the right way that if anybody decides later on to change their mind that they could reverse it without damaging effects. If you truly are serious about transitioning then go about more permanent ways of transitioning that are irreversible you know when you become an adult. However in order for your transition to be believable it Hass to be done at a young enough age, not too young like toddler age but young enough that the puberty happens the way it's supposed to happen with whatever gender you become. It's a real slippery slope because you have to find the balance.
