    *Works great my **Latest.Bike** I have a bad knee so I still get exercise but the bike assists me. I am a big guy so I didn’t think it would go as fast but it works great.*

    Bought a 750W kit - finally put everything together, minus gear sensor. I honestly had somewhat of a hard time installing it, but I did it! Went for a few quick rides (sigh...rain...) and I gotta say its fantastic! Its very quiet and fast!

    Great review! Does the controller of this Bafang Kit have a 12v output? Or 5v output? I sure hope so, will be very useful for lights etc.
    Mid Drives are obvously the best imo.

    What is the range distance wise for a 48v battery? what is the maximum Mph? how much did it cost? is there any problems fitting it? Not so much a review video more like a short how to video.

    HAHA, $1500 for a 11ah setup? You could get the 8Fun BBS02 750w for $400 and a Lithium 48V 15ah for another $350-400 giving you the same setup for $800-900. You could get a 20ah battery and still be below $1500. What a joke. Aliexpress.com people.

    Thanks for this video. I have a few questions as I intend to buy a 500W 48 w kit but there doesn't seems to be a battery proposed in the kit (alioexpress)so I believe, I will have to buy a separate battery. Do you have models to propose ? where could I buy one and what specifications do I need to be carefull. Other question, I have Magura hydrolics brakes, is it a problem with this kit ? Thankyou for your help.

    Are they still in business? Don't see em anywhere. Best combo (motor and battery) price I've seen anywhere is from the people who make the motor, not people who buy it then put their name on it. Bafang USA in Las Vegas.

    Thank you for installation details.
    I am thinking of putting the kit on a recumbent.
    You rotate the motor clockwise before tightening it in place. Can the motor be rotated counterclockwise and tightened in place?
    Is a chain guide required to be installed?
    Are there rules of thumb that predict the range, for different average speeds, that you can get from different battery Ah / kWh? What kind are you getting?
    Show less

    • @human6.045
      @human6.045 9 лет назад +2

      TheLookingOne If you multiply the battery pack voltage by the ah then divide by 20, e.g. - 48v x 8ah divided by 20 = 19.2 miles is a good real world estimate and the speed you travel to achieve this is based on the motor running full power and the vehicle it is propelling is on level ground, equal up hill and down hill journeys should be similar as long as breaking is not used excessively going downhill, this is the same for most electric set ups as such at the moment although there are other factors at play like, how free wheeling is your bike? is it all oiled up and no rubbing break shoes and so on, good motor and battery or poor motor and battery , all in all you are likely to get just a little less than this distance but not much less, mid drive set ups apparently are around 15% more efficient than hub motors so you could add this 15% onto 19.2 miles giving 22.08 miles for the above example, another example - 36v x 12ah = 432 divided by 20 = 21.6 miles, but on a mid drive add 15% and you get 24.84 miles in total, mid drives are only this efficient if you use your gears correctly and thus climbing hills in the appropriate gear as not to burden the motor, they are a great motor for this. Oh, just in case you wanted to know, the 20 you divide by is 20 watts per mile most all motors use these watts per mile unassisted , more powerful ones travel distance quicker and will also drain the battery just as quick.
      I hope this helps :)

    Hello Pete. I bought a new BBS02 from a dealer. How do i register this product so that the manufacturer warranty is in effect? I tried getting information from the dealer, they are useless.. LOL The Bafang website talks all about the wonderful warranty but gives no information on how to register or how to get service if you need to use the warranty. Bafang does not reply to information request. Don't know how to proceed.
    So far, I love my new mid-drive. Customer service, on the other hand, is non-existent.

    • @tergish1
      @tergish1 4 года назад +1

      You would be missing out on quite a bit of power. If you were using a single drive, you would be better off on a hub motor kit. The power from this motor comes from the fact you can change gears, like a transmission

    Hello Pete,
    I have TWO questions for you:
    1) What would be the minimalist Bafang mid drive build to turn a manual bike into an ebike?
    I ask this because I am not a big fan of too many wires sticking around the bike frame as I see them time and again in installation videos. Can I do a simple build with just a mid drive motor and a thumb (or twist) throttle? I assume that the throttle is the only key element needed to control the motor. I could care less about the LCD display, the speed, or changing the power of the motor as the gears change especially as I ride on the highest gear no matter what the terrain!
    2) Is it a good idea to build ebike on a single-speed bike that can coast? Having no gear derailleur would further simplify my ebike especially when I do not use the gears anyway. The less is actually more and simpler!
    Please advise.

    The down side of this design is that you lose the front "granny" gear. Can you comment on riding (especially with cargo and hills) with only one front gear?
    Also, is the charger silent (no fan)?

    • @JoeGP
      @JoeGP 9 лет назад

      the charger looks like a laptop charger, so 99% likely that it has no fan

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  9 лет назад

      Hi Dan, with this mid drive system I did not miss the granny gear at all. The 46 tooth chainring and the 9 speed cog set covered the range of climbing steep hills and cruising up to 20 mph very well. Even with cargo. The charger does not have a fan.

      yeah 46T is a big front ring, i have a 40/28 chainset on my bike, and use 28f to 32 rear regularly to climb local hills, with a 46t on the front, if the battery ran out i would be pushing the bike up hills with the 46 front ring only
