yea it was a joke, now when the Cascadia Event happens Kona will be just a memory. Funny how the NOAA maps don't have extreme inundation maps on their website for the BI, but the other islands have them.
These people will be walking down to the coast line to go "Oh wow look" when the big one carries them off. nah way,, yea way

No, being in the ocean in a boat when a tsunami hits the coast is one of the safest places to be. Which is why you see so many boats head out into the ocean when a tsunami is incoming.

If you get enough notice to get the boat moving, GTFO from any harbour. Look at any video. a mile of so off shore and the wave is negligible. Once you are out of shoal water you are fine.

@@sabrekai8706 If you have time. Most vessels encountering tsunami are out at sea already. Too late when tsunami is 10 klicks from land!

@@pete2070 Exactly. Time. A fishing boat that moves at 12 knots is not likely to get out but it may have a chance if it gets out far enough to avoid most of the debris and can try moving out again once the ebb starts. I have a sailboat, max V is about 7 knots at full throttle. I'd be heading for the hills, but If I had my buddie's cruiser, I'd give it a go. Most of the harbours in Japan appear to have had between 20-45 minutes warning. Pays your money, takes your chances. Besides, look at all the video. A lot of boats of all sizes did survive.

That doesn't seem like a very safe place to observe a tsunami. Hindsight is always 20/20 but they could have been swept out to sea never to be seen or heard from again. Certainly glad that didn't happen to them but they are very lucky it didn't.

Friends !!! ♥ ️December 4, 2021 a very vital international conference "Global Crisis. Time of Truth" organized by volunteers from 180 countries took place. Where a very important question arose: what to do to survive !!! #GlobalCrisis #CreativeSociety #Time4Truth

Les premiers signes d'un tsunami est la mer qui se retire au loin, et l'eau qui revient vite dans les Terres. Un tsunami ne mesure pas forcément 10m.

You know, the Bible says that people need spread the word about Jesus’ love. Condemning people to hell won’t bring them to Jesus.
