Undoubtedly Laki Senanayake was a very gifted artist, naturalist n lover of all things beautiful. Diyabubala seems a very relaxing place to enjoy the serene environment surrounding all the hotels there. Greatly appreciate his work. The narrator shud improve his language skills. Thank you. Watching from the UK in January 2025.
I’ve been to Kandalama many times and have always admired the giant owl sculpture, but I never realized it was crafted by the talented Laki Senanayake-what an incredible artist! . Diyabubula truly showcases the magic of art and nature coming together! PS: 16:32 I can’t stop wondering how the spiders 🕷managed to get onto the art piece that’s right in the middle of the pond 😄
Really nice ...would love to visit and stay ❤ economically I’m not really rich to pay for the hotel.. but I’m really rich to live there with my happy heart ❤
@@fantastictraveller As a child both Geoffrey and Bevin Bawa, his brother, used to come to my uncle's for Sunday lunch. This was 60 years ago. I did not realise how famous Geoffrey was until I read more. Laki Senanayake is also famous but I had never seen so much of his work in one show. Thank you for making this video. Not sure how Geoffrey was known to my uncles or was it my grandad that they had met at Cambridge?
@@fantastictraveller Geoffrey designed two of my relatives houses. I remember going to my aunt,Mrs Carmel Raffel 's house when it was being built and her showing the glass viewing panel on the staircase on the 4th floor looking straight down to the ground floor. I think they let it to one of the embassies in ward place. The other is my cousin's,De Saram, and that is let as a air BnB.
