I love the new zr2!
Edit your audio better man!! Voice is way quiet and music too loud
I had to keep adjusting my headset volume through the entire video lol
@@lunamaria1048 Yep same.. ouch
Same wtf
The 3.0 Duramax and 10 speed in this truck would be the bomb
I loved the diesel as well, but I really don't think the 10 speed has much advantage over the 8 speed on these trucks. -Bryon Dorr
Wait, this new truck failed at going up a snowy slope and you didn't show it? This is a PR video...
It did fail at going up a deep snowy mountain, as did the Race Truck on 35s that was breaking trail, including after some digging with Maxtrax. That was shown in detail in the video. With time and less trucks it would have made it no issues, but with a 11 vehicle convoy and night fast approaching turning around was the right choice. If you watched the video I wasn't easy on many aspects of this truck, especially the engine and tires. I've been doing this for over a decade and pride myself on providing my real world experience and opinion, not PR/marketing fluff. -Bryon Dorr
My ZR2 is being built 5/22! I can hardy wait
You could mix the music down by 50% and it would still have plenty of impact next to the dialog.
The best-looking mid-size truck on the market right now!
That it is. Too bad for the crappy engine
@@lunamaria1048 exactly why I won't get one.
idk the ranger raptor and canyon at4x is up there with it
@@lunamaria1048This engines been out since 2019 in full-size , it’s been a solid engine, more engineering went into this engine than any in recent time!
@@jimmycline4778 Size matters.
Was that Andre back there getting a sneak peak?
Oh yeah. Had a great time with Andre on this trip. -Bryon Dorr
Yes he uploaded that video awhile back lol
Audio needs better editing.
Still waiting for any video about trucks or motorcycles that doesn't use the royalty-free blues rock guitar riff.
33s are good, but 35s are better. Always been a fan of ZR2. Unless the new Taco blows my mind think I will be getting a ZR2 to replace my 2nd Gen Tacoma. I not a fan of Gen 3.
I like 35s, but I think my wallet will thank me for the amount I save on 33s instead. Pros and cons 🤷♂️
@@isaiahadams8548 Depends on what you are doing. I can get away with 33s on slow trails, but 35s help me on faster runs. Mine isn't a daily. I have 2008 Tacoma that I bought brand new. Only has 70k on it. Only use it for some weekend trips and when I go to work for fire season.
Hey guys what's billowing out of the tail pipe at 3:03 in the vid?
This isn't normal right?
Looks like coolant/steam through a blown head gasket.
@@joalyincontroly4379 Just fine sand getting pushed by exhaust. The tires are kicking it up just before the exhaust making it look like it is coming from tailpipe.
I own a 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro and placed a deposit on a 2024 Pro. I’m curious about the ZR2 Bison debut and the pricing. I really like the Pro and the hybrid power plant but I need to know more details.
The Bison looks so good, and it will be very expensive!
$60k is the rumor
Test DRIVE LOL 🎉reno to VEGAs 🎉
3:03 What's billowing out of the tail pipe? Looks like coolant/steam through a blown head gasket.
Noticed that as well, but think it was just the exhaust air blowing hard on the fine dust. -Bryon Dorr
Fire your audio editor.
Had the volume up to hear the talking, then music BLASTS in way too loud,
then quiet little voices, then BLASTING music.
Made the video tough to enjoy. Looks like a fun time out there though!!
Sorry about that, we're working to get better!
Looks like they needed to choose a better tire
Got my ZR2 on order and can't wait to get it out on the trail...but what's up with all the flat tires???
Load range C, I’m guessing their built a little light for an OEM tire
I don't think you'll be disappointed with he truck. I want one. Sharp rocks at high speeds. But also OEM spec tires that just don't have super strong sidewalls. A few flats were also from an install issue on the beadlock-capable wheels. -Bryon Dorr
9:26 is that Andre Smirnov from TFL truck / TFL off-road???? 😂😂😂😂 grey shirt green pants
It is! I had a great time chatting with him on this trip. -Bryon Dorr
Great video! I also love that you gave you're personal opinion at the end.
His very influenced opinion lol. Chevy doesn't invite people that will bash the truck 😂
This truck is bad ass!
@@2011buddylee I think they chose the right base/across-the-board engine. I also wish they had a higher horsepower motor that had a better exhaust note, but can imagine that it might still be coming to help compete against Ranger Raptor. Chevy/GMC just announced a lot with the Colorado/Canyon, and are probably holding a few things back to keep the truck fresh next year. -Bryon Dorr
If the new Ranger Raptor comes with the twin turbo V6, it will be the only Super Truck in the mid size segment
what air pressure when you got the flat? I'd hope something like 20-25 psi.
We were running full air pressures on all these trucks the entire time (at Chevy's request). So I think around 36 PSI when we got these flats. For sure the truck would have performed even better if aired down. Was impressive how well the shocks did in this terrain at full tire pressures. -Bryon Dorr
Instantly swapping over to wildpeak 35s. Way too many rock punctures in this video hahahah
Man you better get you tire plug kit a pump and a cheap drill .... and like some kind of plier
Great video, just turn the f music down by half, please
Bison Looks pretty sweet tho!
I like the current ZR2 better. No turbo 4 cylinder for me in a truck lol.
What parts did you wear out or break, bend not counting tires and the rock in the road
I still don't trust that horrible 8 speed transmission.
and that bison will be..how much? lol
Is that Endrea taking pics of the recovery points?
Yep, Andre from TFL
Can anyone drive that trail?? Looks like so much fun
This vs Ford Ranger Raptor. Thoughts?
Ranger raptor in a straight line and across rough roads. This everywhere else...? I guess. The ranger will be more useful than the f150 since it's not so wide. I look forward to the comparisons.
Hard one! I haven't driven the RR yet, so can't comment too much. I'd say RR wins on drivetrain, but I'll bet Colorado ZR2 wins in a lot of other areas. I look forward to comparing them. -Bryon
Its nice looking. wish theyd work on on increasing the mpg even if it does get bigger tires. I am undecided on getting this. Looks awesome
I wish instead of the short 1-3 second clips there would be more longer clips included. Not much performance of the actual truck is shown so all we have is your word. No rough continuous sections.
Will keep that feedback in mind for the next one. We wanted to keep the pace up and keep this one as tidy and concise as possible. -Bryon Dorr
4 cylinder means a hell no from me i dont care how good it is on paper there just too small. in a perfect world a v4 OHV engine would have replaced the 4 cylinder more power smaller then a v8 but reliable
Gear junkie, do you know if they plan to increase the mpg on this truck? looks like a cool truck
I personally am not a fan of the looks of these trucks. Looks overstyled.
Are you kidding, this truck is HOT! But, to each their own.
I’m guessing the ZR2 Bison will start around $60k.
