    Awesome I just purchased the hardSider camper for my Ford lightning so I’m looking forward to it. It’ll be installed September 27! Thank you for your videos. I’ll be looking for a lot more content since it is similar to my set up and I just bought the wave too as well.

    Came here for the Tune, stayed for the Sweat Pea content. 🥰

    Do you have window coverings or bug nets for the lower big windows? Do they offer them?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  Месяц назад

      Great idea - I do not, I haven’t seen them offered from Tune Directly yet - wouldn’t be too hard to make something up if needed!
      I find that I mainly use the lower doors for accessing cargo and when I am inside and hanging out I have the upper windows open instead since I can see through them better.

    How does it do in windy conditions? Especially while trying to sleep?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  2 месяца назад

      So far it’s been really great - I thought it would be more like a scene from the Martian and waiting for a seal to break on the first trip home, alas it has been tough and no issues. I did notice the truck rock when it would shift a bit in pretty strong gusts, so in extreme wind I prob wouldn’t pop it mainly to preserve and not find the limit the hard way!

    Love these M1s. Why do you have like 9999 different ecoflow batteries?😂

      Hahaha redundancy is key when going off grid for long periods and working/streaming at the same time!

    How much total weight do you have? What is the payload capacity and did you pass it? Any issues with all that weight and the lower payload capacity of these offroad specific trucks?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  3 месяца назад

      Funny you should ask! I just installed the RAS system in the rear to help with the weight and sag. I was experiencing some bounce and performance loss in steering feel and some lean - this has solved it for me. When fully loaded I’m loading it right up to the GVWR, and sit just about 3200lbs with my work gear, living gear and food supplies. (I live and work out of this full time)

    Is there a reason you decided not to go with the insulation kit?

    • @thestevechang

      I actually do have it I just haven’t installed it yet!

      @@thestevechang I heard for the midsize trucks it’s recommended for the fabric to be cut to size so the camper properly closes. Was it not an option for tune to size and install for you?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  5 месяцев назад +1

      I decided last minute at pickup to add accessories.. was insanely busy the last few months leading to install and hadn’t thought about it 😅😂
      I leave my pillows up top still but center them, not certain I want to leave the insulations but I’ll likely give it a go and see how it feels

    Thanks for the video! Subscribed and hope to see more fun outdoor/ camping/ off-grid videos. I just placed my order for ZR2, hopefully it will not take too long to get the Truck. This camper seems to be a nice option. Do you know the weight that it has? Did they use a lot of fiberglass or is it all aluminium?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  4 месяца назад

      All aluminum, with the honeycomb board on top and pass through area. Thanks for the kind words! I’ve been bad about documenting and posting due to the nature of my work and NDAs sadly but I’ll get something out soon! Maybe a livestream on sundays..

      As for weight I load up pretty heavy - I don’t know the actual weight of the camper but with all my gear for work and camper plus batteries and 2 fridge freezers and ac I’m about at my GVWR

    diesel? You like the truck?

    • @thestevechang
      @thestevechang  5 месяцев назад +1

      These don’t have a 6 cyl or diesel option anymore - 2.7turbo… does all the things and is 330 hp & 430 lbs

      Previous model years had diesel option, that went away in 2023 from what I understand. I am happy they changed it I didn’t like the v6 and not interested in diesel myself.

      Have you not found any uses for the molle panel? I have some cool ideas but feel tune over charges at $300.

      when I get home I am going to mount my first aid and fire extinguisher and such that I need for work, currently I have my Starlink router mounted to it for breathability and access!

    Nice set-up but I'd be careful with running a laptop on your bed. Can block the air vents.
