The ZR2 keeps impressing me with its excellent blend of daily on road comfort balanced w/ off-pavement capability. I’m coming from a Jeep JL & will always love Jeeps, but the Rado is better on road trips & overall daily driving enjoyment … powertrain is smooth & seats are light years better than the 4Runner that preceded my Jeep. Another quality video!!! 👍🏻
Thank you, appreciate the kind words! A lot of effort goes into these videos and I'm trying to improve the quality of each one as I go along. Hopefully you are right about the more to come. 🤞
Your video beginning at 8:30 where you framed out was pretty much what I did last October in Moab. Being alone I got too comfortable watching my underbody cameras. With the sun at just at the right “or wrong” angle, some of the sandstone ledge lines kinda blended in together on a descent and next thing I knew was Bam ✨😵✨right down on the crossframe that houses the two underbody cameras. That bent one of the bolts on the initial impact and shaved the heads off a few of the others when I scraped off the rest of the way. My spare tire acted as a skid plate to finish over the obstacle😅 Luckily no damage to the crossframe itself or cameras. Good times😜 I’ll be back down there in about 2-½ weeks for more fun😎
At the moment it is still under testing and not sure if it is worth pursuing at the moment. There is some interest but doesn't seem as enough to justify the production of them.
Well, That damage you took to the rear bumper just took out you reverse sensors, so a little more than a little damage But good to see an off road truck off roading.
Yeah all said and done it was like $100 in damage. Luckily I had another ZR2 in a Facebook group send me out a spare bumper cover as he replaced his with the step ones found in the lower trims. We use our trucks around here 🤟

Thank you! Yeah it is an awesome truck, can't wait to actually start modifying it.
These trucks should come with walkies that charge in the center console, for when the spotter jumps out.
Just stumbled across your videos and man the quality is great! New subscriber here and I'm sure plenty more to come!

I'm more impressed with this stock truck the more I watch reviews on it.
It is quite impressive 🤟
Tacoma WILL never be able to do any of this. Zr2 is a beast. I wish its as reliable as tacoma in the long run though.
Only time will tell with reliability, but I know I will definitely put this ZR2 through that test.
I had a 2022 Tacoma TRD OR and it couldn’t do this trail with a 2 inch lift and larger BFG’s.
Unfortunately….. ALL mfg’s quality is terrible right now. Toyota included !!
@@outlandishoverland The 2.7 as reliable as hell what are you talking about
@@danielr.9708 Not referring to the motor, but with everything else like the transmission, shocks, cv axles, etc.

Yeah those underbody cameras can be a bit misleading. I can't wait to go back once the truck is modified.
Can't wait to see your Top of the World footage! That trail is getting tougher and tougher each year.
Yeah, it definitely has changed quite a bit since the last time we were out there.
loving my 2024 ZR2 (former Toyota fanboy)
It's a great truck 👍🏽
Amazing video!
Thank you!
You’ve got a great spotter!
Yes I do she is great!
Hi there! I'm tuning in from the Philippines. Excited to embark on more adventures ahead!
Very cool! Glad you sticking around!
excellent offroad skills!
Thank you!
Truck looks so good!
@@landonlu7337 thank you!
Cant wait to roll this in May with mine.
It's definitely worth the wait 🤟
BEST VIDEO YET!
Thank you!
Nice driving !!
Thank you!
Love the video! I just bought a 24 ZR2, where did you get the hood emblems?!
Thank you, they are off of eBay just Gen2 rear badges.
I have a 2021 Zr2 Bison with a Callaway Supercharger on the V6. Love it but am contemplating buying a new Bison for all the technology
It's definitely worth the upgrade
You won't regret it just picked mine up and the teck is fantastic
I’ve got a 2020 Bison with the Mallett Supercharger and am looking at doing the same. The new Bison looks awesome.
Great footage, I thin kyou should have your tires aired down for these
My tires are always aired down when I hit the trails. On this trip they were aired down to about 18 PSI.
Do air down?? If not might help a tad
I always air down anytime I off-road to about 16 psi
what is the psi of your tires? It looks like they could be deflated more.
@@BreckoniousMaximus around 16-17 PSI
Damn that’s sucks for your bumper. Good thing it wasn’t worse. 🙏
Yeah could have been a lot worse.
@@outlandishoverland looks like the back up sensor was damage no?
Can I get a set of those front end disconnects?

7:23 What drive mode you using at 7:23?
I don't remember it might have been terrain mode but I am not a fan of the one pedal drive so probably just 4L on normal
@@outlandishoverland 👍
Anyone know if a Ranger Raptor could do this?
Only one way to find out is to take it up there 😬
@ Don’t have one, went with an AT4X for various reasons, just wondering how the RR would fair.
Tell you what I'm subscribed. I want to see how this turns out lol
Thanks for subscribing and welcome along for the ride 🤟
👍
Bisen comes with 35s much more under armor and a hidden winch. Much better truck for this.
It does but I can also do everything you mentioned for so much cheaper than what the Bison package add on is. All that is coming to the truck.
Chevy not breaking like the Tacoma. Come on Toyota, really?!
Yeah and this was a lot more demanding then where the Tacoma broke 🤣
That was a low blow. 😅 One case and everyone acting like it's the end of the world 🤦🏿♂️🤷🏿♂️
@outlandishoverland frankly your skills here were better...
@davidhouston7812 hi david... I'd like to make a video about user-error on that TFL Tacoma video but I'm afraid to 😆 🤣
@@LexusGX460-OFF-ROAD 😂😂😆
No lift bro, light wheels, bigger tires
Or a different line
All of that is coming, I just wanted to see what it could do stock.
Next time, try airing down.
@@fantasticshenanigans As mentioned in other comments I am aired down to 16 psi.
@@outlandishoverland I'm surprised to read that. Your video made it seem like your tires weren't molding to the rock whatsoever.
