I saw on Amazon that it says there are a lot of episodes missing from this box set. I was wondering how true that is? Before I purchase it I want to make sure that all the episodes are available.
@@zaranyzerak thank you very much. However now I'm wondering why someone on Amazon did a review and said that there are several episodes missing from the discs. But I'll take your word for it for right now. I don't think shell factory would really release something half-assed cuz it sounds to me like shout factory knows what they're doing. I mean look at how they did Sonic. :-)
It was produced and aired in mono, it was never in stereo. Stereo sound was still quite uncommon for cartoon when this came out, it wasn't until the early 90s stereo started to be used more commonly for animated shows. This was produced just before that started to become more commonplace. The episodes on the 20th Anniversary Blu-ray and the old VHS releases (which I used to have) are also mono sound. Further to that, if discreet audio tracks of the voice/sound effects/music tracks no longer exist, it would not be possible to properly remix the audio to stereo or 5.1 after the fact.
That actually does bring up another question then if that's the case how come there are episodes on RUclips that have actually been found in stereo sound? I'm just curious that's all.
It could also be possible that the videos or whatever they use to remaster this DVD were taken from the actual airing of the series. There's several possibilities either way the DVD is still good I was just curious as to why everything sounded in mono I will say that stereo does sound a lot better and I do kind of wish they'd use the stereo version but it's still okay. I also kind of wish they were behind the scenes cast reviews and other things but for what it's worth it's an incredible set.
Easy enough to explain. Stereo sound was still in its infancy for television. A lot of stations would air mono shows with fake "processed" stereo to give it a bit more ambience. The actual source was mono. I used to record the show back when it aired, it was only ever that fake processed stereo if anything. The official VHS releases and all other home video releases, coming straight off the original master tapes, were in the original mono.
They did not use off air recordings for the DVD. They used the original broadcast master tapes, far superior quality than any off air VHS recording would have been. There is no official "stereo version."
David315842 Nowadays if it went in to be reclassified it would most likely be rated a 12 (PG13). Quite a lot of films from the 20th century have been re-rated to a lower classification, and it's quite rare for a film to have a higher rating, Jaws being one of them, which was originally a PG but was bizarrely upped to a 12 certificate in 2012.
David315842 Warner is pretty tight when it comes to sending films back to the BBFC, which is why some films are still cut on dvd. It's only if they're doing a special edition on blu ray that we get the films finally uncut.

Shout factory needs to release beetlejuice the movie as a collectors edition. I watched the blu Ray thanks for the library, but the extras where very few.
Zaranyzerak They need to because they're super tight with the extras when it comes to B movie/cult classics. They go all out for the big screen releases, but not so much on the little films.
You had to wait 7 years but it's happening.
I have this show on DVD as well, and I'm glad I do. I loved Beetlejuice since I was a kid.
LOVED The Beetlejuice Cartoon and movie is Great
It's Unboxing time !!
I like Beetlejuice cartoon series. I like the intro, theme song and my favorite character is Ginger.
Me too, I was really impressed by just how good/funny it was. And I agree, the opening them/title sequence is awesome.

There are no episodes missing, it is every episode of the series.

The second intro was used for Season 4. The complete series set has it for all the Season 4 episodes.
@@zaranyzerak thanks for letting me know
Would you happen to know why all the episodes are in monosound and not stereo on the dvd?

Rosie is very fortunate that the movie was a PG in North America. Over here it was a 15.

floyd75dylan At present the film is still a 15 by the BBFC, I doubt they'll re-classify it anytime soon.

David315842 I know I didn't doubt you, I was just saying that if Warner wasn't so tight it MAY have been given a lower rating
thanks for the cool review! saw this at walmart the other day, now I gotta go back and grab a copy of the animated series!
Does this comes with spanish language?
Is this still at Walmart
Nice collection

That would be awesome, except it's Warner. Warner doesn't license out ANYTHING.

It’s a good movie and and cartoon I love the show
