I used to watch 1967 Spidey in ‘78 or ‘79 when I was in second grade. Eerie nighttime cityscapes as I recall. Early morning before school, back then, was watching Spider-Man, Speed Racer and Star Blazers.
Would love to find this collection at a reasonable price! .. it is so rare now people are selling on Amazon for over $300 in some cases!! Why can't they make more !! Anybody know?
I've said that with the release of every Spider-Man movie of the past 17 years. Thus far all they've ever done is re-release the single disc volumes over and over again..
It did get a release in the UK a few years ago, both in single and complete series boxsets. Unfortunately I think it's now out of print and will go for a fortune on Amazon.
Thanks for the shout out Sean, I'm sure Bringeroffunerals appreciates it as much as I do. Another great comparison video, love these. BTW, you didn't open the Captain America disc, so we didn't see the disc art for that. Doesn't matter too much though.
That Spider-Man vs. The Vulture cover art is almost straight off a panel by John Romita, Jr.- ASM #240. The Dr. Doom's Jack Kirby-based, from what I see. The Ben-Day dots always make me think of Lichtenstein. "Here Comes Trubble" is voice artist Paul Soles' favorite- I'm researching him like mad in hopes he'll be up to an interview when he returns from Terrificon. I wonder if anyone would go for an autobiography of the original Spider-Man actor? Cheers. P.S. The Hulk one has two 60's Spidey season 1 clips!
I love 1967,1968 🕷 spiderman cartoons series , like the spectacular spiderman cartoons series spiderman had a pretty girlfriend, 1967 Peter Parker he went on dates but no one girlfriend it not fair to compare generation
@Cohen 2020 to be fair cannot compare generation stuff like James bond movies 1960s& 1970s James bonds vs Daniel Craig James bonds, 1967 spiderman vs other cartoons of spiderman series
BatQuinn Forever not to mention for a 60s superhero show it’s pretty dark for its time It has that noir feel that in my experience ages the show unique That feel would later be used again in the 2003 Spider-Man series
Zaranyzerak, one travesty in the 60s cartoon world is the absense of the 66 Lone Ranger NTSC release. Any comments, it would make a great short vid. Great series.
Here's which Spidey shows specifically were on each of the Morningstar Entertainment volumes, including the other ones they released that you don't have (ALL CAPS are the volume, regular letters are the episode) FANTASTIC FOUR VS. DR DOOM Cannon of Doom (80s) THE INCREDIBLE HULK: WHEN MONSTERS MEET One-Eyed Idol / Fifth Avenue Phantom (60s) SPIDER-WOMAN VS. THE FLY The Slippery Dr Von Schlick / The Spider and the Fly (60s) FANTASTIC FOUR: THE IMPOSSIBLE MAN Spider-Man Meets Dr. Noah Boddy / The Fabulous Fakir (60s) SPIDER-MAN VS. DR OCTOPUS The Power of Dr Octopus / Sub-Zero for Spidey (60s) The Terrible Triumph of Dr Octopus / Magic Malice (60s) SPIDER-MAN VS. THE VULTURE The Vulture Has Landed (80s) The Vulture's Prey / The Dark Terrors (60s) THE THOR: ENTER HERCULES Neptune's Nose Cone (60s) CAPTAIN AMERICA VS. THE RED SKULL Arsenic and Aunt May (80s)
The 60s Spider-Man is great it has that noir feel to it. I also recommend the. 2003 series it brought back the noir feel that what made the 60s series so great to begin with
I would kill to have this '67 set. But.. it is now rare and/or unavailable to buy and the copies available are so overpriced. Why dont they release it again...
I used to love this show! Didn't like the fact they changed the artwork in the later episodes, made the animation look stiffer than it already was haha and also didn't like the new character designs. Much preferred the earlier episode simpler artwork
I have all the single DVDs with a slipcase. Nice edition. Each volume has its own booklet with a short description of the episode and some artwork. If you can get the singles, I would go for them instead.
The European spiderman single sets had a booklet so it looks like the collection edition got scammed a bit on the packaging. I have both the region 1 box set and the pal single episodes so I'm happy. The 90s set is great also. I collected them all including FF. Spider woman. Silver surfer. Xmen. Hulk etc and I recommend them all. Shame the Hanna Barbara FF didn't get a release here but I think that's a licence issue.
I have the region 1 set for the 67 series, it's my favourite animated Spider-man series. I picked mine up used before the re-release. I'd love to get a complete series set of the 60s Fantastic Four series but I'm not holding my breath...
Amazon links are in the description for everything shown in this video. At the time of this writing, the Region 1 set is going for about 134.00. I haven't seen it drop much lower than that in a very long time.
@@Deltax5 The Region 2 European version will only work in the U.S. if you have a region free player or are able to rip the discs to your computer. i wanted to buy this (ntsc version) back when it came out but my wife wouldn’t let me. (love marriage) it probably cost like $40 CDN. now it costs like $200 to $300. ridiculous.

Finally someone who talks about problems we have in pal regions with vhs and DVD.
With the upcoming release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, there better be plans for a DVD release of the 90s series.

Now that Marvel Studios 9AKA Disney) has more control over Spider-Man now, that might change. 'fingers crossed'.

Yep, it's one of the few UK sets I didn't manage to get my hands on. Pretty much all the Region 2-only Marvel animated releases are out of print now.
At least they have now released the series on iTunes along with many other Spider-Man shows. A DVD would be nice though.
