- Want to own as many of the 1000 Looney Tunes Shorts as possible without breaking the bank? This is the 2023 guide on how to do so. Read the description for further details not shared in the video
My Buying Guide with further details. Stats are related to the order they're bought in
For example GC has over 100 shorts that will be in further DVD's. But they won't be mentioned as dupes on the GC lists since all the shorts are new to you if you buy them in this order. Plus that would be too complicated to keep track of

So Assuming you buy every single DVD/Blu Ray listed and not anything else
You will have about 608 of the 1000 Looney Tunes Shorts
(Non Essential IMO unless you're a completest)
7) Mouse Chronicles (14 new shorts)
This brings your collection to about 622 Shorts
The following are stuff that you don't need
1) Spotlight Collection V1-2, 4-8
- V3 is worth it for the movies but it doesn't have any new shorts
- Other Volumes are just stuff in the Golden Collection
2) Essential Bugs Bunny
3) Essential Daffy Duck
- Only exclusive short was later released on the Platinum Collection
4) Space Jam DVD collections
- These might have a few yet to be released shorts on stuff I've mentioned. But these are VHS quality ports of late 90s VHS releases. They're releasing them remastered on the Collector's Choice sets as we speak
5) Any cheap "& Friends" Releases
- These are simply cheap cash grabs featuring a disc from the Golden Collection minus the special features
6) Bugs Bunny 74 Carrot Gold Set
- The First Disc of the first 5 Golden Collection Discs
- Few Shorts don't even include Bugs
- Features half of documentaries but not the other half
- Only worth it if you want to just buy this and no other DVD (it is cheap, $15 for 74 shorts)
7) Anything else not mentioned in this video or description
- There are so many cash grabs for Looney Tunes. WB releases stuff to trick average customers all the time
- Anything $5 or less is an instant ripoff as well. Talking those 2 dvd's with only 3 shorts on each
Dupes are inevitable. But I think this guide is the most helpful I can give in under 5000 characters

Platinum Collection Volume 3 Blu-Ray is, thankfully, still easy to find cheap. I got it recently for about $20. Still holding out for hope on the first 2 volumes some day...

Yeah some of them that are in the sets like the family multi-future they're released separately which I wouldn't recommend buying because it cost more that way like I'm asking $10 for one DVD when i could get 3 for 2.50 cheaper
The Platinum Collection set was a steal. I can say though Platinum Collection V3 on bluray is affordable, I got V3 on blu for 15.
I recently picked up the Bugs Bunny set for 25.99 because of Prime Day
Okay so I bought collector's choice volume one for like $20 and then I got golden collection number one. I want the rest if I can get them for a good price and then I own some of the family multi-future ones. I have 3 and then I have the Looney tunes movie that's it I want to get the rest of the cartoons on DVD/blu-ray if possible I did pick up the Flintstones complete series for about 30 dollars on Amazon prime day not a bad deal actually wish I got the bugs Bunny collection. Maybe next year. If it's on sale again I'll get it or if I ever see it for Cheap the golden collection is like 20 dollars per one on some websites and sometimes they're cheaper on places like Amazon so at some point I'll probably get all six if they're not expensive but I'm not buying all of them at once
I wish they wouldn't release the platinum collection on Blu-ray for like maybe like $5 more or 10 dollars more I would buy it if they do
Warner Archive might eventually re-release those platinum collections

@@cichlidjedi probably not this year. I believe all we’ve got are the 2nd and 3rd collector’s choice sets..don’t even own the 3rd one yet for some reason. Want to wait until that set’s officially done first and then I’ll probably make a quicker update vid
Thank you I appreciate this video so much!! Do you have a method for keeping track of each cartoon release? I've considered making a spreadsheet but that seems like such a daunting task.
I literally don't but I should. I basically do quick research when a new set is announced, and it will generally list what's new to HD and what's new to disc. Bluray.com generally gives you all the info you need through forums. The Looneytunes wiki is also really helpful since you can find a short and every single release of it
I didn’t know platinum collection dvd version existed. Are the restorations in it the same of the golden collection or the bluray hd restorations downgraded?
i believe they’re just downscaled 480p versions of the remasters found on the bluray version. I’d imagine most would look a little better than on the golden collection, with one of the most noticeable differences being pitch correction on some shorts. Can’t say every short is a noticeable improvement

The mouse chronicles and spotlight collection volume 3 which contains the movies are also essential

Did the Bugs Bunny roadrunner movie ever get released in a collector set on Blu-ray? I know it had a DVD released twice and a collection set but I would really like for a copy of that on Blu-ray!
Not in Region A. As far as I can tell Looney Tunes representation on Blu-Ray is basically both Space Jams, Back in Action, Bugs Bunny’s 80th set, Platinum Collection, and Volume’s 1-3 of Collector’s Choice with more on the way

Thanks for the video. What do you think about the, spotlight collection? I already own one that bought a few year's ago. Thinking about completing that. Or the golden collection? I already have bugs bunny 80th Anniversary Collection. And the platinum collection.
Collect the golden collection. You get all the stuff in the spotlight collection and more. Along with awesome special features
@@Rychronic That I did. After doing some research. Found a nice guide to help me get what I needed. I'm only now missing the, bugs Bunny and daffy duck ESSENTIAL DVD sets.
i have even more efficient guide just buy golden collection thats enough i tried watching the entire thing and i couldnt get past volume 3 you do not need every single looney tunes short
This is more for the completionist that wants as much as they can get. But for everyone else yeah the Golden Collection is enough
I'm so glad I waited for the platinum collection to merge all in one mine is coming tomorrow
Im not sure how many are completely new (I think most if not all are), but Vol 2 and 3 of Collector's Choice have 25 cartoons each
So assuming all are new that's 677 (this is including Porky Pig 101 and Mouse Chronicles in the total)
Been a sec since i really took a minute to tally the new volumes. But I think most are either new or newly remastered (released in poor quality like 25 years ago on lower end dvd’s) to disc
I wish WB would do a box set with the entire collection. Even the banned ones. Charge like 1000 with all the special features from past collections and call it a day. I would buy it. Would have to save up but would buy it.
