Thank you for your video. I really appreciate it. When I first purchased this machine it worked just like you stated. The second year of operation was less reliable and required CO2 cartridges and a ridiculously expensive CO2 cartridge attachment to clean out the propane burning unit. From this point on the operation was sporadic and VERY frustrating. I also found that the mosquito magnet CO2 cartridges where expensive to purchase and it was suggested that every time I swapped out the propane tank, I was required to use a CO2 cartridge to clean out the working parts. I did this as per Mosquito Magnet instructions. All in all it cost me about $100 to $150 to run for the first season. This expense excludes the purchase of above mentioned equipment ie the cartridges and attachment. In year 3 (this year) I fired up my mosquito magnet and spent an entire day trying to get it running. As the warranty on this useless machine had expired after the first year I had no issue opening it up. After watching a few RUclips videos I diagnosed a problematic "Thermistor" I believe this temperature probe regulates the internal temperature of the mosquito magnet and keeps it running. I went online to purchase a replacement part and found that there are no available parts for the mosquito magnet. The only item they allow to be sold online is the igniter part (on ebay) I called the mosquito magnet service people and was rudely informed that they do not have part numbers or are able to send me any parts at all. I was referred to a service center in Canada. Although Mosquito Magnet worked well for a year and caught basket loads of mosquito's the subsequent years year of operation were terrible. I paid $400 for something that has a shelf life of approximately a year to two years max. There is absolutely no customer service or parts available. I WOULD NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Its finicky and expensive to run! I will be posting this to other mosquito magnet youtube videos sites in order to warn other people of this gimmick. If anybody wants to purchase my broken mosquito magnet and resides in Ontario please let me know and maybe I'll be able to re coop some lost money:)

For The capital cost I might have bought. It was the short warranty, maintenance and replacement parts that’s scarring me off. Now your issue. I guess I need to keep looking….again.

Instead of burning propane for the CO2, you could have a container of fermenting grape juice which releases CO2. Then at the end of the season, you could drink the wine.

My family had used MMs for several years. Kills mosquitoes, absolutely. Cost of unit and running it was kind of high between the many CO2 cartridges and refilling fuel tanks. But we would have continued using them if they hadn't broken down so many times. We paid to ship and repair the units. We figured out that the slightest ting in the electrical lines would shut off the MMs like a breaker flipping off. You know when you see the time on the microwave or clock blinking.. This wrecks the inner workings and the repair people were rather rude at the time about any questions put to them. Plus we didn't know it was off unless we started getting bit again. These units aren't supposed to be next to your house since it attracts bugs so we didn't sometimes know it was off and go out to turn it back on. Finally it was to much and we gave them away to other family members who have the same problems.

Another RUclips video shows that it works quite well. However: Sounds like the mosquito magnet isn't very efficient unless you optionally buy mosquito attractant to increase the kill ratio 10x. The attractants are $50-$65 for six. How long do they last? 21 days. Six cartridges last about 120 days. You will need more if your "mosquito season" is long. Also, you'll use a 20lb tank of propane per month if you run it 24/7. It can get expensive.

Yes! Mosquito Magnet® traps attract and capture mosquitoes, black flies, no see-ums, and midges. Using our Lurex3™ attractant will also attract and help capture the Asian Tiger mosquito where it is prevalent.

Yes for me it does work. But not the first year. I did not know in the first year you had to refill the tank every 28 days. And the thing you put in the tip has to also be replaced every 28 days. So the first year it did not work since i did not know this. But the 2 year worked nice, I put it near my garden and now when i go out and pick stuff i dont get bitten. they suggested to start it in May and let it run all summer long until the garden is done. so this is what i do. this way im killing the early ones before they can make more. So Yes I would have to say it works just fine. I use to get bit many many times. now i may get 1 bit when im out in the garden.

one more thing they told me hwen i called Custermer support. If you start this in the middle of summer, it will take a long time to notice a diffents in the yard due to how many there are. so again start it early in spring before they come out, this way you are getting them right away keeping the population down.

Once again petrol saves the day. Do you americans have a propane bread cutter too? One that not only does it slice the bread, but it also bakes the leaf. Oil consumption should increase by 1% yearly...

@@mrbojangles9841 not to the extent of just throwing it into the air unfiltered and unregulated sorry but my ac costing 40$ a year in energy 58$ on the high end is much less co2 then this makes in a week now if 3% of the population adopted this machine that's 11 million people in America. adding 600 million ac units worth of co2 into the air every year. so basically we can give almost every person without ac in africa a place to not have heat strokes and shit anymore but regardless that's a shit ton of co2 to put into the air simply to try and remove a few pests from biting you every single year and is excessive. don't let the cure be worse then the problem is a good rule of things to go by. and your argument is a straw man argument comparing something that throws out 52 times or more emissions then an ac unit when judging it conservatively much less if we actually put them out in enough mass to actually solve the problem it would probably increase our emissions by 60% annually

@@makoshark40 If you're really concerned about climate change remove your ac from your house, turn your lawn into a vegetable garden, stop using your vehicle for fun. In other words don't have a life if you're really concerned about climate change because the alternative is ruining the planet so you can have conveniences and luxuries. People in Africa are living in huts and you can cut your standard of living to their level if you're really concerned about the planet. Oh i forgot don't ever, ever use paper plates, cups, or paper napkins again either. And that means no more fast food either.

@@mrbojangles9841 you literally kissed the whole point of how much emissions this thibg makes. Its a anti pest device that makes more emissions then vehicles by a considerable ammount while providing nothing in return that actually benifits. Also i only drive when i have to i do have a garden in my back yard my ac uses less in a year then this does in a week in emissions i have solar panels that reclaim power if my ac did use this much emissions i would not use it or set it to 80 degrees so it barely runs so it doesnt use as much but guess what i live in florida even with all wibdows open its still so hot inside you can have a heat stroke thats why its a law for land lords to have working ac systems in houses here. My car is also older then i am and im 29 so im not buying new cars either. Im not claiming stupud global waming shit or any that really but this machine is simply stupid idea that barely works vs things that have the same results with drastically less emissions and less money out of your pocket so this product is simply a dumb idea yet your to busy trying to start pointless shit to jack off to or some shit by straw manning everything almost all your comments are you start arguments because your a petty little man who is scared of being irrelivent so you try to get free realistate in peoples minds by triggering them. If you like this product so much buy it i dont give a fuck but thats not going to change my mind thats its an overly distructive pointless machine that does literally no good in any format its sure as hell not going to stop mosquitos but slightly thin them out so your getting bit by 5 instead of 12 congrats go burn tires in a fire pit for all i care i dont live close enough to you to worry about it the onlything i can argue is how dirty out air is not the emissions in the air all those gas vapors and shit being carcenaginic and then people wonder why cancer rates are going up and shit then wondering why hospitals only want the most expensive profitble solutions thats the literal onlything i would argue to change
