  • In the Body Armor 101 segment Rob Orgel of ER Tactical discusses what it's like to be shot while wearing body armor and training for what to do next. If you find yourself in a life threatening situation it's critical to fight through the pain and take the necessary steps to prevent further injury. Trauma pads inserts under the armor pad/plate is basically a no brainier with how cheap trauma inserts are and how effective they are at further dispersing the impact energy.

      I mean I know I'm just a RUclips comment at this point but. Seeing how you guys are in Arizona neighbor to Nevada and your emblem looks a lot like the emblem of our hockey team, have you guys ever thought about doing some sort of collaboration with Las Vegas metropolitan Police department and the golden knights for a fundraiser for body armor for LVMPD with I find razor for the victims of the mass shooting in there ? And maybe supplying body armor to the police department? Different hockey positions is different armor levels, and some sort of plate carrier with a themed camouflage that's still relevant as camouflage like the United States Marine corps did with their camouflage just put a Golden knights emblem somewhere small on there

      And although I realize the fundraiser like that could be "distasteful"for a company such as yours I failed to see the difference of how a politician would use every gun related crime is a means to strip individuals of the right to defend themselves, six of one half dozen of the other

    A long time ago, (8 years, now!)
    I witnessed a video of iraqivet8888, using an M1 Garand and 3006AP ammo, at 45 ft, against a Spartan armor, level III steel plate.
    After testing the plate with the threats it was supposed to stop, he decided to step up the game, to defeat the armor.
    It took all 7, AP 3006 rounds, with the 8th, finally defeating the plate. All 8, rounds were shot in the same area, also.
    That convinced me, over the "other guys inferior, hit or miss plates!" So, I told my step son about them and we both bought a set separately, 8 years ago.
    I also backed up the level III Spartan plate with shock pads behind the plate.
    Since then, I have purchased ceramic plates from other good vendors. Both level III and III+.
    HOPEFULLY, I will never need any of them. My current kit includes level IIIA soft armor to fit my carrier. Front and sides, rear and sides and inside the cummerbund, with side plate pockets.
    I think the 3A soft armor will help absorb the shock also, with the trauma pad between the 2.
    What I find interesting, is the groin soft armor will tuck away up between the velcro flap, creating an extra wall of soft armor behind the front plate.
    That's just my observation with my vest. It's a close copy of the military KDH VEST USED BY THE US ARMY. In this case its the Condor, EXO, large carrier. The accessories from KDH, fit like it was made for it. Daps, groin, butt protector, and neck protector.
    Liked it so much, I picked up a 2nd EXO carrier several years ago.
    Thanks for all the great information.
    Also, I read ALL THE QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS. I LEARNED A LOT.

    Great video. I'm glad I chose Spartan for my two sets of armor. I wish television and movies would use realistic plate carriers and armor. I watch shows (I know, I really shouldn't) like NCIS and Seal Team and it looks like they are just wearing new empty plate carriers. I bet they are not drinking water either! LOL!

    Feeriling very little of that energy? Uh yeah no comprehend. You spent a total of 1 second on a massive important point. The heavy steel armor is better of an outcome? Please give feedback. If this is the case I am getting rid of my lightweight crap

    • @SpartanArmorSystems
      @SpartanArmorSystems  2 года назад +1

      Steel armor is more rigid so the energy is spread across a larger surface. Ceramic and UHMWPE armor has much more flex at the point of impact allowing a more focused point where the energy passes through he plate and into the person wearing it. Bottom line is that you'll see more blunt force trauma with lightweight ceramic and polyethylene plates than steel plates. We sell steel, ceramic and polyethylene plates so please don't take this as a sales pitch for steel plates, just information to help you make a decision. You can get trauma pads in order to reduce the potential for blunt force trauma if you are happy with your current plates:

    Is Steel better because you don't feel alot of the energy when stoping the bullet ?

    • @SpartanArmorSystems
      @SpartanArmorSystems  Год назад +2

      Yes, steel does a better job of preventing blunt force trauma compared to ceramic body armor. However, the trade off is that you need to make sure you have spall mitigation to prevent secondary injuries i.e. full coat plates and/or spall containment sleeve. We sell both steel and ceramic body armor, it's important to be aware of the tradeoffs of each type of armor.

    • @Talishar
      @Talishar Год назад +1

      @@SpartanArmorSystems I'd also add that the spall liners also double as a way to fill out the plate carrier along with the spall sleeve. Steel plates are a lot thinner than ceramic plates and you don't want a plate that's swimming in the pocket.
