    Thanks for the info. I'm a newbie, published my first book on April 1. I now have 16 medium content books and 7 low content books published. I'm still learning how to run ads effectively. I'm taking the ad campaigns slowly, carefully, and not worrying about them too much. I set a budget of $50 a month for ads. My main goal is to continue to make quality books and find good niches. My goal is to have 25 medium content books published by July 4. My income for May was $32. My June sales have already begun to develop and hopefully will be higher than May. It's a long-term venture, so it's important to understand this is NOT a get-rich-quick business. I'm looking forward to where I will be one year from today.

      Absolutely bang on! Those numbers are very similar to when I started too. It only takes one high quality book to break through and sell by itself every month to drive in 50-100 by itself a month which then drives your income up... Then it's rinse and repeat. Good luck, well done on your journey so far you're doing great!

    Mate, thanks for being so honest in all your videos! You're the REAL deal. You're a true inspiration for beginners like me, I mean it. You show the hard work and the concrete results. This is so generous of you. Got not only a subs here, but also a fan! What you're doing is still way better than the regular 9-5 job (or worse things like I do in customer service & hellish rotating shifts, to say the least). Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

    I am so grateful to have found your channel: My KDP journey started in October of 2022, and since then my experiences have pretty much mirrored yours, with the exception of the fact that you prepared yourself for this journey (so it seems to me) far better than I did. My journey, in the early stages, was filled with pretty big mistakes, false hopes and unrealistic expectations. Your channel is honest, to the point and very realistic when it comes to expectations on running a publishing business and the hoops that we are required to jump through to acheive a desired level of success (bummer about those hoops). Since 2022, I've elevated my craft, knowledge and skills, and I am on a path that could potentially see me reaching my goals, but I've still a long way to go to the level of success that I've got my heart set on. Thank you for delivering honest and relevant information, realistic expectations and of course, thank you for taking the time to share your advice and expertise. I will be staying tunned!

      Thanks for the reply 👍 I'm at the stage now where I'm trying to discover my book cover's quality- I'd love to think that I've got the skills for the design, but I am also taking your advice on this channel about being realistic...I know I'm good, but I'm not great, so that's a real eye opener, so far anyway... that's where I am on this journey

    Bro that is amazing you've been able to create 6 whole books. and on top of that you've also been able to work on this channel as well as Etsy. How do you manage to do all of this? How many hours do you work a day? and How do you deal with procrastination? if you get any. I'd love if you could make a video explaining these aspects, cause they are crucial to the business and how do you usually structure your day.

    • @selfpublishingempire
      @selfpublishingempire  3 месяца назад +1

      You're too kind! I tend to do 8 hours a day 5 days per week but some weeks I might work 6 days, others 4 days.
      However, with speed of books - a lot of the books I create are within series that already have an established template, so it's a case of updating images and titles and that sort of thing which saves a lot of time :). Creating the first book in a series takes a lot longer than the second book.

    You cannot be directly profitable from the first month after launch. You have to be patient with the ads and build towards profit from 3rd or 4th month if you afford it. Especially in a pretty crowded niche as coloring books.

    How to create Author page plz Make detail video sir

    • @AikenLikesArt
      @AikenLikesArt 3 месяца назад +1

      The Author Page is fairly simple. My main problem was: should I use a pen name or my own name. I began using my own name and have a dozen books under that name. Then I published a group of books under a Brand Name I came up with, and added that to my Author Page as a pen name. Now my books are split between the two, my real name and my pen name. Also, I have had to use the "add a book" function a lot, making sure all of my books are attached to the right name. I need to write a better bio, too.

    • @selfpublishingempire
      @selfpublishingempire  2 месяца назад

      Great answer. I did the same too! Normally if you make sure you write the author name correctly, your books should still be auto added after a few days to the correct pen name - but always good to double check!

    • @AikenLikesArt
      @AikenLikesArt 2 месяца назад

      @@selfpublishingempire I've also noticed it matters how you tag the "contributor" portion for an additional author. I've been putting my brand name in the author's field, and my name as an "editor". When I do that, my name is also highlighted on the product page, as well as the brand name. They both provide a link to each one's author page. However, when I put my name in as an "illustrator" as a contributor, my name isn't highlighted on the product page. I have some books where the brand name is highlighted, but not my name. Then other books have both names highlighted! Very weird. I'm guessing the algorithm just pays attention to Author name and Editor name, when choosing to highlight the name and direct it to an author page. I wonder what would happen if I put my name as the Author, and my brand name as a contributor? LOL.

      I've been publishing a new book every 3-4 days, using ChatGPT, inDesign, and Photoshop. The hard part for me is finding the niche, the book topic that will have a chance to sell. Finding a book that will be in demand is the real challenge.

    • @hundredlines
      @hundredlines 3 месяца назад

      From what I can tell the most successful colouring books are not Ai generated. They are well crafted hand drawn books with outstanding social media marketing. It looks to me they haven’t done endless ours of niche research, instead they put those hours into making a quality book backed by a large social media presence.
