Thank you for actually explaining *how* it works. As an IT person, I was concerned with the "how" rather than looking at router compatibility lists. I knew it either had to make the existing router work in bridging mode (like an AP) and connect inline between that and the Internet or this sort of "trickery" ... cool!
can you schedule blocking on certain website. I want to whitelist certain sites during the school day so they're not on RUclips during virtual class. Thanks!
bruh, I see the effort of you trying, but its not gonna work, a little clicks that changes your mac address just completely bypasses all that effort, and also, consider vpns and 1.1.1.1 with warp, its not gonna work, dont waste your money and time on this stupid "Circle".
Great video. Question: what if some members have android and some have apple? Also, you say you don't need to touch the kids devices. So does this mean, we don't need to have their passwords and such?
Just make sure you have a compatible router. Mine appears to be one of few that won't work with it. And I cant seem to enable the compatibility mode that is advertised. Routers aren't cheap so now I have to decide if I want to spend even more money or just return the device.
For the Circle app that blocks content when the kids are away from home, instead of disabling couldn’t the child just delete it from the iPhone or iPad?
Not if the parent is the administrator of the device. If I'm not mistaken you can add monitoring apps on your kids device that is hidden and also require a password. Which basically completely controls the device at parents will.
Just found your channel looking for a mesh network, and am really enjoying your other videos as well. Nice to see explanations of tech as opposed to dropping acronyms without meaning or intent!

@Tristan Ump Spoofing the Circle's MAC actually worked a year ago but I haven't had a chance to test and see if they patched it. The use of a VPN would also circumvent it. You could block the addition of new apps or require approval which would prevent them from installing a vpn app.
@Tristan Ump None of the devices I used to test were able to recognize and/or protect against the spoofing. If nothing else, the average person wouldn't be able to get around it easily.

From personal experience, I would not recommend this product. I've just learned recently that I can render all the limitations from this product useless within a few minutes. Prior to learning this, my father would put time restrictions, limitations and filters in anyway he could. This obviously made me very angry and it created a toxic relationship between. I understand that you may want to protect your children from this harsh reality but at some point, they will be exposed to this. I also don't blame this product as it does it's job effectively, but just think about it from your child's point of view. If you believe that restricting them from parts of the internet and giving them a limited time online is right for them, go ahead. I don't want you and children to develop a toxic relationship similarly to my father's and mine over parental controls. Children deserve better then this but at the end, it is your decision.

I used the Amplifi HD and create 2 networks. Put the kids on the guest WIFI, then I just set time and site restrictions on the Guest WIFI. Everyone is sleeping like a baby after 9pm except my wife who is on the main network playing games all night :)
you call that a wife?
Umm...It's not a circle though...
Bruh much love, short to the point and gave me the info i needed. God bless, porn and these crazy apps is bananas.
I am a single father of 3 teenagers (14, 15, and 16)... Two boys and a girl. The girl being the middle child. I know I won't be able to protect them from every crummy thing this world has to offer forever,, but I'd like to think that I tried to protect them from as much as I could, for as long as I could. They're my HEART! Thanks SO much for making a video to better educate me on HOW to do that very thing!! You just "sold me" on the product! I hope you (and yours) have a blessed day brother!!👍👍
