I learned a lot in your straight to the point, no B.S., no funny faces and no bad jokes approach. Thank you.
Thank you for getting straight to the answer. I love that you explained it in a way I understand. You earned a new sub. :)
Wow great tip on reviews filtering. Filtered to 6ft and there were no bad reviews. 15 dollars for a great cable. I feel much better about everything after this video. Thanks man!
Great video bud! I just read about this when i was looking to replace my hdmi for my 4k hdr. And its been a few years.
I found a 4k hdr HDMI at 22.28 Gbps and it only cost $15. It looked great before and the bandwidth throughput increase made a massive change.
It was difficult to shake that a $15 cable can be better than the then $50 HDMI I replaced.
Technology changes so much, peeps like you make it easy for any level of knowledge to gain great insight.
Thanks for your valuable insight. I'm using my newfound knowledge to buy cables as soon as I finish this post. Thanks again Chris
Link to the cable you bought ?
Whats the cable name?
$3 on EBay.

I love your reviews/videos. You are articulate, to the point, and you know what you are talking about. Many thanks.
My procedure for reading reviews is to always read the worst ones first, and to then total the percentage of the number of 1 - 3 star reviews versus the total percentage of the 1 and 2 star reviews. That usually tells me a lot.
You provide knowledgeable and understandable information. Unfortunately, the victims that buy these outrageously expensive cables expecting better performance will probably continue. " It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled". Keep up the great videos.
Excellent to the point video. Good visuals. Make sure to stay VERY accurate and people will live with you daily.
Glad I found this channel! Your videos are so good!
Clicked on the video. Looked at the shirt and said hey I’m wearing that same one. New Sub!
Thank you for this review, I think you did the best job ever explaining this, great information and explanation on the tec side of this!
Thank you for this vid! You saved me some money and time. I already had a high speed HDMI cable and it works great!
Great informative videos! Keep them coming! Subscribed ✅
Good video Chris. I like when you said there are people out there who swear by the expensive ones. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of products that look the same are, from the off brand ones from China to the expensive ones with big name brands can be made from the same company in China. The companies that own the name brand ones just have their name and logo printed on it. It's good to know that the PT Barnum phrase, "there's a sucker born every minute," is still popular and living well in Asian countries.
Thanks for the info. That was really helpful and straight to the point.
Thank you for making it simple to understand. I agree with Austin below, a straight answer, no B.S. Keep up the great work.
much help. spent 100$ on two hdmi cables some time ago. great vid
literally bless you, I was about to drop $30 on an HDMI cable. this was super well explained and concise, thank you!!
Bought my hdmi cable for $10 at Walmart Itz 4ft long 😄
@@mugs1879 I did as well today. I'm using it on my Xbox one original and the picture pretty good
I agree what u said!! About time someone posted a video on this!!
Straight answer, and really helpfull, i think for most of the cases the standard 1.3 is enough. Thx!
This video is a God send…needed this!!

You're awesome! Hey love to hear how not to get ripped off!!!! Yeah!!
Great vid as always, thanks. I'm thinking of getting 25 foot mini hdmi to hdmi cables for my three gopro hero4 black cameras, which I plan on plugging into my Atem Mini switcher. Do you think I can run 1080 with them or am I limited to 720? Thanks!
Love this dude genuine folks are rare appreciate the info bud subbed 👍🏻 hey you recommend a specific cable for ps5 this is something a lot of people will be looking at
I've tried amazon basics hdmi cables and audioquest 2.1 cables with my sony oled and there is MOST DEFINITELY a difference my dude.
Not saying your wrong but this video isn't entirely correct. If you're someone just trying to watch something then yes, you likely won't even notice differences. But if you're connecting a serious audio/visual system and are an audiophile, there is a massive difference in cables. Night and day difference.
4k 60hz over longer distance is hell of its own, and hard to find any info about, great vid
are you a dude or a chick?
Love this review! Awesome!
This is just simply "great" much appreciated ... no one explains this at best buy ... and now with "side curb" pick up .. i guess you are on your own ...
great channel my G
very informative! many thanks!!!
Very helpful, thank you brother
Great job Chris. I love the aesthetics of your channel.
Gteat vid. I needed this.
He's saving me and my wallet! Thank you so much!!
Instead of "buyer beware", it should be seller beware; and if the government doesn't want to regulate it, then perhaps we should. Like in every city and every store, whoever is bothered to throw a brick that day. Should sort itself out quickly that way.
@Jagger Camden stfu God damn
Blue Jeans cables! Give them a google, they're fantastic. Thank you for great content. There's "information overload" out there with Ethernet certification, active vs passive, 8-16 Bit Color, 60/120Hz frame rate.. and most people just hooking up their Nintendo to their 32".
great info B-mo,
MW from DC
I use the AmazonBasics 35 foot active HDMI cable to run my BenQ 2050A off my Xbox One S. Might be slightly overkill but it was $25 and has great reviews. It is a thick, well built cable and is running perfectly.
That ain't SHIT... 'overkill' is when you buy expensive-ass cables that cost even more than all of your AV equipment combined. There are lotsa fools who actually do that, cuz they think its cool for their inflated egos or just have way too much money to blow. That's just being really fucking stupid if ya asked me, cuz cable specs and equipment will keep on rapidly changing and evolving like every year or two.
Just get whatever that's cheap and works decently on your setup for now. Save up that money incase you might need to add things or upgrade anything later. Yeah, thicker cable shielding is a pretty safe bet on long runs of at least 15ft or more cuz it helps to block out any interference that might prevent the signal from reaching your TV properly (such as picture drop-outs). Fuck EVERYTHING you ever heard about ones and zeros, cable bandwidth, brand integrity, and all that jazz. As long as they carry a nice clean signal without any issues and aren't too overpriced, then ya prolly did OK!
Nicely explained
GREAT VIDEO!!!! thanks
You rock dude!
Monoprice slim certified cables for me. Easy to bend and fit into tight spaces, affordable and have been certified to pass the bandwidth that's claimed.
Right on my brudda✊🏾. Save'n me time and money 👌🏿
I have an Acer chromebook with 2.0 hdmi and Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a 43" TCL 4k UHD. What would be better, hdmi to hdmi or Thunderbolt to hdmi? Great channel, man! Glad I found it.
Thank you for your always informative and helpful reviews. I just ordered the optical cable you recommended - my Epson 4010 4K projector is 36' from my Denon 6700 receiver because I have to run it up the wall and across the ceiling. They were running a promotion and I got 11% off on Amazon. So a 50' optical HDMI cable was actually $20 cheaper than a shorter one. Thanks!
Thanks so very much. thumbs up
Hey Chris!! I really have trouble choosing a way to run the video signal 50ft to my projector.
I like to run the cable through the walls. So I figured, HDMI over ethernet are the best way since the ethernet cable can be cut and joint!
Are HDMI over ethernet good? You haven't covered this topic yet. I am thinking about buying J-Tech digital 4k HDMI extender (JTECH-EX230 in amazon).
Really love to hear your opinion about this!!

Late to the Game on this video, I use the basic HDMI cable I had in a box, and it works great from the Receiver to the TV, (it was on that they give you when you get a new cable box) I use it on Sharp Aquos 65" the TV is about 10 years old and it still puts out a great picture when I use it on my DVD player
thank you for this video
I'd like to add to this, that some HDMI 2.0 cables can pass HDMI 2.1 tests, length and wire gauge are primary factors in this, as technically, the pinouts are the same, it's only bandwidth across the connection points that has changed for the newer standards. Some heavier gauge shorter HDMI 2.0 cables will carry greater than 30 Gbs(I actually have a 6 foot one from Atevon that tests at the full 48 Gbs and works on my PC running 4k 120 at 4:4:4)of data, however longer lengths of the same cable may only pass 18 Gbs, typically, if you buy a good ~28-30 AWG 2.0 cable that is only 6 feet or less, it will likely work for the PS5 which is limited to 32 Gbs on it's HDMI 2.1 port as is, though the only way I have to test is using my Denon receiver, just plug from the cable into both input and output on the receiver and run the cable test, if it gets close to 35 Gbs, it's fine for the ps5, if it gets 40 Gbs or greater it will work fine for the XsX and PC...well, it needs to hit 48 Gbs on the PC if you use eArc from your tv/monitor to a receiver for sound, but 40 is plenty for 4k 120 at 4:4:4, and 32 is enough for the PS5 since it's limited to 4k 120 at 4:2:2.
Basically, if you have a newer Denon or Marantz receiver with HDMI 2.1 you should be able to run a cable test on your cables and determine if they are good enough for your needs.

Hello Chris, love your video's, I am about to purchase a Epson 6050 UB projector and a Denon AVR-X3700H, my distance from my projector to my cabinet thru my attic down thru the rear wall is 40 FT to 50 FT, I have been studying that for this distance I should use a "Fiber Optic Cable" could you please give me your recommendation where to purchase a HDMI Fiber Optic cable that would work just fine with this setup ??? Thank you soo much!
Cool Video 👍👍👍👍
YOU ARE THE MAN
Thank you!
What hdmi cable and size you use. I have an Denon 7.1 with atmos sound, Sony 4k tv and blue ray player or Apple 4k tv

Hey so I got a alien monitor for my pc and Xbox 1, but when I plug it into my xb1 the graphics look weird, and they should be better, do I need a hdmi 2.1?
Thanks Chris
hey bro, maybe a late question but i just bought a 8k HDMI cable and have a 4k 60hz tv, does it stil work? The 8k cable says it's supports the 4k 120hz but i don't see 4k 60hz Or is the cable too much? Or does it stil support? Thanks.
Thanks for the video, my question I have a Sonos ARC supplied with HDMI cable just purchased Sony OLED KD48A9 ,the sound keeps dropping out especially when watching. Netflix,do I need to upgrade cable?
Hey, I just want to do a workout dc which one do you think that I need
Hello sir, does my receiver have to be 4K compatible also or will the signal move right through? Wanting to set up the LG ultra short throw without having to buy a new reciever......Thanks for your time.
So what do u prefer for 4k game play for xbox x or ps4 pro or should I just keep on using the cables they came with I would appreciate it feedback. Ty
Thank you 🙏
Super helpful. Dope ass shirt.
Do you have any recommendations for HDMI switches? Looking to relocate all my “entertainment devices” into one cabinet but dont want to run so many HDMI cables behind the wall.
Hey Chris, is there any marking on the hdmi cables to indicate the bandwidth? Thanks
Does the PS4 Pro HDMI Cable that comes with the system as good as the Amazon Basics in comparison or different?
That's why from now on we buy cables that are 3rd party certified to transmit 18Gbps. I work with video distribution systems and long wire runs and cannot use basic 2.0 HDMI cables. Picture usually doesn't suffer but I have noticed that audio always does.
THANK YOU! A cool, collective voice of reason in a field of insanity
Chris Majestic Hello. I am looking for a HDMI cable for a 25ft length to go from an iMac to an external computer monitor. The problem with a lot of HDMI cables is that they are really stiff and thick. I need to run the cable up the leg of a desk and then up to the monitor stand as well as each arm of the monitor stand and finally plugged into the monitor. The thicker the cable the more the cable will make the monitor stuff when I go to move or swing it on it’s pivoting arm. I have seen thin flat cables. Do you know of a really good cable for this situation? Thanks
Thank You Sir!
