I’m no expert, but with used car wholesale prices starting to drop, you might be better off selling it now.
Agreed. The next month or two will drop car values back to normal
Funny story since we have the model Y and EV6. We decided to sell our Kia Niro EV. We bought for 31k premium trim during the pandemic in 2019 (MSRP was 45k). Went to Carmax the offer me 32K 7 weeks ago!!!! I went back and forth and decide to finally pull the trigger. They had to reappraise it since offer had expire. Second new offer was...................34K. I was like What!!!!!!!!!! So ended up selling it to Carmax, crazy that it went up 2K in 7 weeks!!!!!! Crazy part we had lower offer from both carvana and vroom. Only place that was over was Carlotzs which offer me 34,500, but is 250 miles away. Good luck hope it all works out!
I've heard that the used car market is slowing down just a little. I'd sell today. Gr8 vid as usual, Shannon. 🚙 🇺🇸 🌺
You might be wateing a long time for the Rivan, they are having problems and is it true that the tires have to be replaced at 20000 miles?
Haven’t heard about the 20k miles thing for tires but let’s hope it doesn’t take too much longer for delivery!
In a similar boat. How do you ensure the person who buys it does not try to claim the tax credit? Since it has never been claimed on the VIN. What if they end up doing their taxes before you? Wondering if this is possible.
Trying to remember…but I believe there’s a question on the tax form that asks if you purchased it new or used. It runs the VIN so I’m sure it’s backed up to a database that knows whether you bought it new or not.
I'm not at all surprised you're getting more than you paid for the EV6. There're always people who don't want the waiting game.
I have a Model Y on the way I have on order for almost 11 month. I have been driving a Model 3 for the last few months. I am worried I am going to take a hit on the 21 Model 3 if I choose to get out of it.
Tesla’s usually retain their value really well it seems like
Youve encouraged me to go see how much my ev6 with 1900 miles is worth tomorrow. I have online quotes for 56k but I'll see what the dealerships offer as well. I love the car but I love money more 😂
Same tho! 🤑🤣
Looking great pretty Shannon. Like my daddy always said no matter where you are there you are. Love your smile
We paid $50K for my wife’s Mustang Mach-e in April 2021, and the recent appraisal for it was $63,500. She does not want to sell. So if your Rivian is coming mid-autumn, when did you place your order for it?
Wow! What a deal!
Placed an order September 2021
@@EVandChill I placed my December of 2021 but I’m not expecting my guide to call until the end of 2023. Would love for them to call earlier.
Bought my tick online here Canada. Will buy a cybertruck.
If I won the Mega Millions?
Rimac Nevera
you should consider the federal tax credit in your decision as well . make sure that you are not voiding the tax credit by selling early. also the federal tax credit will effect the actual total cost that you payed .
used car prices have started to fall...might be best to do as son as your comfortable
Mega Millions. I’m buying the latest Model S, Model X, and a Harley Davidson Street Glide. Changing out the steering wheels on the S and X to a normal one. As far as vehicles are concerned.
Can you buy two Model Xs? I’ll take the red with white interior please 😉
Sell now and get a cheapest EV you can find for the time being. Higher interest rates could slow demand for higher priced cars. Also I would not trust Rivian delivery estimate. They're having major supply constraints getting batteries.
id4 or bmw i4 or genesis gv60 next?😆
I took delivery of a 2022 mustang Mach e 4 weeks ago. Paid msrp for $58815. Tax title and fees brought total to around 61500. Drove it for 2 weeks and 1000 miles and sold it for $62500. So got to drive an awesome car for a couple weeks, made money, plus with the tax credit coming out way ahead. Too good of a deal to pass up.
🙌 heck yeah! Crazy times.
Shannon, I would buy one house in all 50 states of the USA. Then I’d EV between them.
Spend one week per house for 50 weeks and then two weeks in Canada??
Sell now. There are signs the market is cooling. That said the prices quoted in the comments are crazy. I have never paid more than MSRP for a car and I never intend to, so personally I am waiting this craziness out.
Sell the EV6 to Carvana now & buy an R1S with the money I give you after I win the Mega tonight!
Yes sir! 😂
I would offer to buy the EV 6 from you above the 56k
I’d go Price is Right with a $1 Bob 😂
@@EVandChill I was thinking 60k but ok, a dollar is fine with me, lol
Sell the EV6 to Caravana now, great price for sure. Hey, if we won the lottery, I'd buy a green wrapped 2022 Kia EV6!! Lol!! Cheers!!
A house 🏘️
Making bank? Didn’t you pay sales tax and registration?
She’s just having a good time and yes there is registration and tax but there’s also something called a federal tax credit
Sure but when you incorporate the $7500 for the Fed EV Tax incentive and still receiving what I paid for months and miles later, I think it makes this a pretty good purchase.
I forgot about the tax incentive still available for unpopular brands. Good thing for the taxes paid by U.S. citizens to make up the difference.
@@thomaswilliams4944 you must not be in the US huh? Kia Hyundai VW ford? All pretty popular here
GREAT car more than Tesla?
Sell it this week. You'll have no regrets and no "what ifs".
Now ev6 is expensive. maybe it is 65000$ worth.
Looking for a new car?
Always on the prowl for a new car lol
That Fisker coming up looks sweet.
"The Lord's chicken"…!?! 😧
Sell it. Sell it now.
Don't you loose money on the taxes buying and selling your cars this way?
Not yet lol. Most people forget that these cars also qualify for the Fed Tax EV Incentive as well as it helps generate revenue on YT.
@@EVandChill Yeah, not to mention the free mileage driving it and free EA charging as well if you can sell above MSRP.
With Megamillions jackpot win I would do a Elon Musk and sell my stuff. He's smart, owning stuff ties you down, you have to maintain, insure blah-de blah-de blah. Then rent whatever you want and when you're done with it turn it back in.
With no belongings to drag you down you are now free to go where you want when you want and your fortune will last a lifetime.
The last thing you want to do is start buying expensive stuff. Sure you can afford it but then you have to keep up with it. Less is more people!!
reason low views...probably too much talking around.
Sell now, one-car family for a few months. The money will go down fast.
Great, another youtuber selling their EV to buy another one and continuing to constrain the supply because they’re profiting off the tax credit
This is absurd
Then do it yourself instead of shifting your jealousy on others. Call your congress rep lol.
@@EVandChill haha you think congress gets anything actually done
I’m not jealous of your success you obviously do well enough to have a high enough tax liability to get these credits
To me KIA, and any other BEV other than Tesla, is boring and unexceptional.
When I was test driving EVs earlier this year, Tesla 3 & Y were the least comfortable cars I drove. Louder and rougher ride, felt every bump. Definitely tuned to be sports cars, which wasn’t what I was looking for. I was also annoyed by the placement of the speedometer, but I’m sure I could have gotten used to it eventually.
I guess it's good for all non-Tesla automakers that opinions outside of yours exist. It's really audacious to watch someone's video and comment just to say, "Nothing you could have shown me would make me like this thing. I'm just here to say I don't like it".
