I disagree with you both about the on/off switch. If I need or choose to just sit in the car why should it be on? As dumb as having the new Tesla automatically put the car into drive mode. Some things can be too automatic. However I enjoyed the review.
I agree with you, Earnest. There are many times that I'm in the car but don't want it on, such as when I'm waiting to pick up someone. Also, auto on also means the headlights will be on at night, shining into somebody's house unless you turn them off. It's better to have a some control over the car with a switch.

For $20k less I bought a 2021 KIA Soul EX and I love it. Also, I live in an apartment and park on the street, no place to plug a car in. I'm on my 4th KIA and my second Soul. However, I've checked out the EV6 and it looks awesome. KIA built a great looking EV.
One huge difference you didn't mention was that opening the charging port door (every single time you charge) requires using the key fob (or the voice command) on the IONIQ 5, but I just love how the EV6 has a little button on the dash to push. Why doesn't the IONIQ have that??
You're probably already aware, but wireless Apple Car Play is an easy and inexpensive fix with one of the available Bluetooth adapters. Just plug it into the USB port and keep your phone in your pocket. We use the Terran BT wireless adapter, but there are others as well. BT adapters for Android Auto too. Don't forget to delete the EV6/BT connection on your phone when you add the adapter. There's even an adapter that'll not only allow you to wirelessly connect your phone, but it'll turn your entertainment screen into a full-blown tablet (although it's more expensive). Great videos! Keep up the good work. 👌

Lots of times when I get into my car, I don’t want it on and don’t want it to go. I’d rather have the start/ stop button. Also, the car sitting and waiting for you to arrive uses energy, part of why Teslas use so much energy when they are just sitting, all kinds of cameras, sensors and computers running when your car is “off”. I much prefer unlocking and starting my car manually, no continuous energy use necessary.

Yep. Friend of mine was able to use his Mitsubishi plug in hybrid when his power was out for about three days. The beauty of a plug in hybrid is that he was able to use it as a generator.
I thought the flower petal design that came with the I5 would look better on the EV6. I also knew I was going to keep the EV6 for longer and wanted the Michelins that were on the I5 set instead of Kumhos.
Good info on this video. I wonder if the preferences as to which one people like better is relative to age? I test drove the EV6 and found it to be "too sporty" for a man of my age (62). Interesting perspective! If the budget allows, I’d choose Limited. You get glass roof, blind spot monitor, and HUD. Plus resale on the Limited is better due to being more scarce. Both are great options though.

I think Hyundai (HMC) is making a BIG move with Kia from affordable car into mid-high range EV. And the EV6 is their first major player...but Kia is supposed to have ELEVEN models of EVs by '26. And the EV6 lineup isn't even complete yet. I'm wondering what the GT is going to run. I'm thinking at least 80-90k so they're creeping into that supercar/luxury market. I too remember Kia being kind of a joke. Oh, did you get your Kia from a bubble gum machine? They did have some almost cheap vehicles & some strange designs. So it's been fun watching that company grow. From a company manufacturing like $15k cars into a company going all in with the EV market. I do hope they kinda go with the Samsung business model.....a phone in ALL classes. Can get a Samsug A model phone for $200 bucks or can get the S22 Ultra for like $1600 and almost every price point in between. I know my '23 goal is to probably get me a '22 EV6 GT AWD. I'm hoping when the '23 EV market hits that the '22 EV6 drops a good amount. But right now my online build is about 58k.

People will pay. Gas prices are increasing and a person spending $400 a month on gas doesn’t mind. 10k markup distributed over 60 payments =$166 a month. See the savings? Plus the $7500 tax credit and not having to wait a year and be on a list.
@@MrLiesAngeles also, that tax credit doesn’t apply unless you have a tax liability. And they’re still sitting there. Buying a $62k car with $10k in negative equity right off the lot is keeping them from going anywhere.

I haven’t really seen or heard too many issues in regards to EVSEs other than delays. They all operate similarly so I think it just comes down to what additional features are you wanting (wifi enabled, ability to adjust charge levels from phone, etc). Wallbox, ChargePoint, chipper creek, Juicebox, Blink, all seem to work well so any of them you choose should be great. The main thing is that you are installing a level 2 charger. That alone is clutch and you will not regret it.
This was first video on your channel, are the double entendres part and parcel here? 😂 Just wanted to say: the ignition button is for the Star Trek feeling. You wanna get that zooom feeling on the touch of a button. I love it :)
4:27, I feel the charging port should have been on the driver side. maybe even in the area of the c pillar. the have a cap for the DC port, but not for the j1772 port... feel they should have integrated it into the door itself.
I drove a GT-Line but wasn’t impressed with the few features it adds over the Wind. None of the features are performance oriented so it’s essentially the same car except with worse seats imo.
The EV6 and I5 are so similar, I’d count them the same and choose one or the other subjectively by how they look. They have the same battery, battery tech, software, tech, etc. They are both really spacious as well. EV6 vs the Mach-E, lots of differences. The EV6 has better tech, battery, charging, and room but the Mach-E looks better and drives more sporty.
The EV6 is a hot vehicle! Something I would have heavily considered if it weren’t an EV. However, my local KIA dealership sales department are complete a-holes as well. Real bad.
Laughing at all the prudes, incels, and suckers stuck in lifeless marriages who are mad at this vid for having a little personality. I for one enjoyed both of your dynamic and chemistry. Thanks for the vid
A couple of things I don’t like besides the lack of wireless Apple Car play, lack of phone as a key, and the no auto lock/walk away feature. But it is nice car. I still love my MachE and as long as Dvora is happy with it, then I am happy with it.
Good overview of your first-hand experiences! One note that's become more obvious as time goes on: Too many car reviewers give car-makers a pass on branding vinyl as something else. Vegan leather = vinyl = plastic. That's not a knock against vinyl per se, it's just that it sounds goofy when people try to pass it off as something better, like someone who paid $20 for a "Coach" bag and tries to convince everyone it's authentic. Somewhere, marketers are laughing at the fact that people are paying over $50k for cars with vinyl seats. I'm looking forward to the day when an automaker puts real leather in an EV. For this kind of money, we should be getting real leather, or at least have the option. Do we really have to go to Porsche or BMW in order to get something that a $30k Accord has as standard?
I'm selling my Audi with leather interior to get an EV6 and I don't feel like Kia (or Tesla) is doing it as a cost-cutting measure so much as an environmental statement, since that's frequently the sort of thing that's important to people shopping EVs. I like leather, but I honestly doubt they're saving all that much money on the materials.
@@mattpalmer8058 I think you’re illustrating my point perfectly. Instead of calling it vinyl, they call it “vegan leather,” which hopes to appeal to those who think that it will save the lives of the animals that would be the source of the leather. Based on everything I’ve read, the leather would likely have come from animals that are already being used for other purposes, so using the leather would actually make better use of a resource that is already being used. No more animals likely die just to make leather seats. But instead, the marketers have managed to sell you on the idea that creating something new out of plastic is somehow better for the environment/world while providing a lesser product that is most likely also a lower expense for them to makers. That’s brilliant marketing. That was my point.
Congrats on the incoming MME! I think there are pros and cons of each and it comes down to personal preference. Even though I no longer have my MME, I still think it is the greatest looking EV SUV. I’ll say the EV6 rides better but the MME drives better. EV6 has better tech and charging capabilities but the MME’s build feels more premium. If it’s an around town vehicle, MME is probably preferred whereas if road trips are the common norm, EV6 may take the cake due to charging being fast. Both are great options. One area the MME is significantly better is branding, I didn’t feel badly spending $50k+ on a Ford like I do on a Kia lol.
You should check out the Telluride if you want to see a gray Kia. I know it’s not an EV - so chill - but it shows that they have been making good cars for a while now. The Stinger was a great BMW for half the price.
@@mattferguson9109 I just bought a '22 Telluride last year, and am loving every bit of it. Even more so than the '23 (I just test drove that one this week).
I prefer the Mach-E’s looks, drive, and overall design but I prefer the EV6’s tech, charging capabilities, space, adaptive cruise control, and common sense features.
I’m actually on a trip right now that I wanted to take the EV6 on but charging infra didn’t allow it so I’m in the Tesla. At the end of May, I have a big trip for it though.
I was interested in buying the car but it won't be available for awhile in Canada (same for many other EVs actually) so I bit the bullet last weekend and ordered a model 3 long range after test driving it. Unbelievable car... Done! You convinced me in your response to my last comment that charging on the road is best experienced in a Tesla, so I'm not looking back now. Cheers
The newer model 3 has a heat pump standard and many of the competition does not. Not sure about the KIA in this video but ours has a space heater (Texas so it does not matter).
If you get the AWD for the EV6 and Ioniq 5, then you get a heat pump. RWD receives a resistive heater similar to what I had in my 2019 Model 3 and Mach-E.
I check one out at the Kia dealership near me in Vegas, I like the outside and the screen in the front but the seat are not comfortable and the materials inside don’t look or feel premium for a 50000 car. The rear seat we not good at all, no room under the front seat for your feet, the floor was high so your knees are up and no thighs support. Plus the dealership had a 17000 dealer mark-up….crazy. I’m not buying this car for 67000 before taxes and registration

There was a recommendation by Alex on Autos during Kia’s Test Drive in Northern CA with Redline Reviews along riding “Shot Gun” to put 255 All Sean Tires on the 19 inch rims for aggressive handling. What have you done with Rims & Tires?
Yep, still the 235s on 19s. Only thing I have done is swap the wheel/tire set from the Ioniq 5 to the EV6 but they are still the same size. I’d agree that 255s would be substantially better. I’d like to put 255/35/20s on it but not sure if I really want to spend the money on it.
@@EVandChill There is a RUclips post by Stinger_Miata_EV6 and he put Avid1 SL02 20x9 +35 rims with 255 on his EV6 Wind. Originally I thought he added Spacer. It’s the 9 inch rims. Congrats on the incoming EV6! It’s easy to remove the emblems. I just used fishing line and then goo gone. Something to keep in mind, the front emblem has two pin holes in the hood so if you remove it and don’t wrap it, you’ll see the two holes. The rear has no pins and is a clean removal.

I didn't get which model EV6 you have.
AWD Wind trim
Great video. What color/brand is the green matte wrap? How much was the wrap? Thx and all the best!
Thanks!
Brand: VViViD
Color: Matte Emerald Green
Kia has been doing big things. And lots of people that would’ve never thought to get one (including myself) has loved the Kia brand
how much does it cost, in general, to wrap your EV 6? Does it have OTA updates and if not will this be offered in the future
We’ve received quotes from $3-5k to wrap the EV6. Not yet, Kia says it will roll out OTA but I’m doubtful.
coolest couple on RUclips. Thanks guys.
This was first video on your channel, are the double entendres part and parcel here? 😂 Just wanted to say: the ignition button is for the Star Trek feeling. You wanna get that zooom feeling on the touch of a button. I love it :)
A channel in Canada (EV-olution) talks about his EV6 & secret tips ..pushing 'mode' button on the steering wheel can change air/radio controls
Yeah you can make the ‘mode’ and ‘star’ quick buttons
4:27, I feel the charging port should have been on the driver side. maybe even in the area of the c pillar. the have a cap for the DC port, but not for the j1772 port... feel they should have integrated it into the door itself.
you keep comparing to the tesla, instead of the wind, did y’all consider the ev6 gt-line? it has more tech, better suspension and heads up display.
I drove a GT-Line but wasn’t impressed with the few features it adds over the Wind. None of the features are performance oriented so it’s essentially the same car except with worse seats imo.
5:30 it's because you covered up all the KIA logos with that wrap so people can't tell what brand it is
How does the EV6 compare with the Ionic 5 & Mach E?
The EV6 and I5 are so similar, I’d count them the same and choose one or the other subjectively by how they look. They have the same battery, battery tech, software, tech, etc. They are both really spacious as well.
EV6 vs the Mach-E, lots of differences. The EV6 has better tech, battery, charging, and room but the Mach-E looks better and drives more sporty.
The EV6 is a hot vehicle! Something I would have heavily considered if it weren’t an EV. However, my local KIA dealership sales department are complete a-holes as well. Real bad.
Where did you get it wrapped, I live in the DMV and would love to get my GV80 wrapped
We wrapped it ourselves but had our Model Y wrapped at Capital Wrappers
90.00 unit will get you wireless apple car play. I use it in my Ioniq 5. works great.
On my second one. Both have crashed repeatedly.
Can you give more details about the wrap, please? Was it 3M, do you remember the color name?
Brand: VViViD
Color: Satin Emerald Green
Cheeky as it was, you kept it fun and it was a good review. ☺️👍
Having tested the GT Line S (UK) no worries about sportiness.
I can’t wait to get mine!
Great overview. Always look forward to these videos.
Laughing at all the prudes, incels, and suckers stuck in lifeless marriages who are mad at this vid for having a little personality. I for one enjoyed both of your dynamic and chemistry. Thanks for the vid
Thank you for having a sense of humor, that’s rare these days 😂
That paint is awesome
ty for sharing. how does the EV6 driving compare to the Mach e? handling on turns, stop and stop etc.
Mach-E def handles better on turns but the EV6 rides very smoothly on the straights
What is the Range on the EV 6
274 miles
A couple of things I don’t like besides the lack of wireless Apple Car play, lack of phone as a key, and the no auto lock/walk away feature. But it is nice car. I still love my MachE and as long as Dvora is happy with it, then I am happy with it.
Agree with all of those points. I think the Mach-E drives better as well especially in the corners!
Just found something else not crazy about the EV6. No over the air updates. From what I’m learning you have to manually update the software 😳
It’s true. It will do OTA for map updates but nothing for other software enhancements.
you could put an audi logo and nobody would question it. great looking car
While I like Audi’s, I’d probably go with Bentley 😂 thanks!
Vegans say otherwise 🌱
@@scottjentsch Cool.
Hey guys great review! I've had a mach-e gt on order for 4 months now. If you had to choose ev6 or mach-e what would you choose?
Thx!
How you would compare this to the Mach-E?
I prefer the Mach-E’s looks, drive, and overall design but I prefer the EV6’s tech, charging capabilities, space, adaptive cruise control, and common sense features.
Do you have trip planning or route planning video with the EV6?
I’m actually on a trip right now that I wanted to take the EV6 on but charging infra didn’t allow it so I’m in the Tesla. At the end of May, I have a big trip for it though.
I was interested in buying the car but it won't be available for awhile in Canada (same for many other EVs actually) so I bit the bullet last weekend and ordered a model 3 long range after test driving it. Unbelievable car... Done! You convinced me in your response to my last comment that charging on the road is best experienced in a Tesla, so I'm not looking back now. Cheers
Congrats! We absolutely LOVED our Model 3. It’s literally great at all categories. My hubby really really misses it so we may have to buy another lol.
@@EVandChill Canadian customers get the heat pump in all but the lowest trim model for the ionic 5
EV & Chill you 2 sound like you might need "Netflix & Chill"...!!!
The way the koreans make electric scooters like dualtron x2,kaboo wolf king gt, weped fs, hunter quad 1400,its pretty clear they got these electric motors all figured out, this Ev 6 from kia is a masterpiece, love it want one, nice review mr & mrs Cougar, roooaarrr 💯😎😍
Thiis video is a better review of the suggestive cougar rather than the korean lectric jaguar.😋
One thing IM a fan of.... !
you guys owned a MME, why not compare it to the MME?
Love your channel 😊🫶🏾 greetings from Roanoke Virginia
When you have kids, its nice to have a power button
Shannon, review from you and hubby! I will be ordering a Wind AWD with Tech Package. Was able to a quick screen shot of your front right tire, Michelin Primacy All Season. Do you still have the 19 inch rims with 235 tires?
The 19 inch rim are I believe 7.25 inch and you can add the Michelin All Season 255. You and Hubby look at the RUclips post I mention before making a decision. Let me know your thoughts on the post. I said “No Way!”.
He has a nice looking ride!
It may need 21”s. I thought 20”s would look great but there is still a lot of sidewall. Idk, still unsure if I want to do anything with our wheels. It would look great but I may need that money for our rivian lol.
@@EVandChill Get the Rivian! Keep the EV6 it looks awesome. Put 255 Michelins All Season tires on the 19” rims and enjoy doing doughnuts in parking lots with snow. Your Hubby will like the ride on 255’s on the 19” rims.
Nice review, can't wait to get my hands on my ordered EV6 GT.
Good! But don’t pay the mark ups.

@@robertocatsburg8049 Way to go!
I’m surprise she didn’t jump the poor guy when he got in the backseat
You tinted your headlights so they work less.
This is RWD? I think AWD cost 53K at least?
It’s AWD
Do you like it better than the Mach E? Is it more spacious, does it drive better or charge quicker? I love your show so keep up the good work. Give us more indepht as to which EV you would keep permanently if you were forced to.
Out of spec did a video where they had an ev6, Mach e, 2 teslas and a Taycan going from co to vegas. The Mach e was like few hours behind the others
@@alanp613 carwow did something similar but they also had BMW and some other notable electric vehicles and the ev6 did best
I like the interior better on the EV6. Polestar has no ignition button as you mentioned and the wired Carplay is so stupid.
I literally laughed out loud when Shannon said “it dumb“. Thank you for putting a smile on my face. Good job with the review!
That wrap is off the hook.
FYI, you can get a wireless dongle for apple carplay. Also you can turn the car on from the key fob. I know not the same as Tesla but it allows you to move the car backwards/forwards remotely for tight parking spots.
Great review on the KIA EV6, I’m actually shopping for one now, my local dealer is asking 10,000 over sticker good luck. By the way what color was it before you wrapped it and what is the name of the color now it looks like a frozen green beautiful well done .
$10k?? That’s crazy! It was Gravity Blue and is now wrapped in Satin Emerald but I call it satin British racing green lol.
Very nice car, it's on our radar, can you tell us if the rear wiper is really missing?
There is no rear wiper but the rear wiper is sloped enough where it doesn’t need it. The Ioniq 5 is different in that it wasn’t sloped very much so it needs a rear wiper.
@@EVandChill Thank you for the quick reply, i heard that they will add the rear wiper on the ioniq 5 in 2023, i hope they will do the same for EV6 as well because it's a very nice car, i can't wait to swap my leaf with an ev6
Nice video!
Waiting for my EV6 aswell, can't wait :)
Question, was it hard to remove the emblems?
I think I will remove them, looks much cleaner.
EV6 GT is coming!!!
Is it my imagination or does that EV6 have the exact same alloy wheels as the Ionic 5? 🤔
Great attention to detail! I swapped the wheels on my previous Ioniq 5 and put them on my EV6.
@@EVandChill
Ha, I was thinking that they weren’t the standard wheel, but they actually suit the KIA more than the Hyundai 😀
Just got back from the Kia dealership (Calavan Kia West in Ga) and they had the nerve to add a $14,000 mark up to the EV6 wind. Kia needs to do something about these dealer mark ups…
Wow! That’s the most I’ve seen on a Wind trim level. I hope it stays on their lot until they have to take way the ADM..that’s ridiculous.
I’m so confused by this video. Great info on the car, just thrown off by flirty comments. First video from this couple. Must be a common theme.
It is 😉
Can you share the pain color? It looks amazing!
It’s Matte Emerald Green
Interesting comments about handling. From what I understand the new Zealand version has a firm suspension so might be different ?
Without ignition button - my little brother goes to the car to play his favourite taxi taxi . Steps on the gass 🥲 rest we know.
