I don't even understand how they can do anything to a dealer just because a firearm they transferred, with a proper background check, ended up at a crime scene some years later... That's like charging a streamer with a crime because a random chatter decided to kill someone that spoke out against their beloved streamer. If we ARE going to use this logic, perhaps we should hold the FBI accountable for approving the transfer in the first place?

Never met one. Met many police and feel this way. A couple of them are actually good and fun to be around, but they aren't cops anymore either.
If you’ve ever been to DC you know how “diverse” their police force is. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
I lived near it while living in Maryland ... Great place for the USA Air force to conduct any new Bombing tests ... like they did near Clearwater and Largo FL. before WW2. :)- PS ... "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful".
I just love the fact that all of these ATF agents burst into a man's house who did nothing illegal and murdered him with their body cameras purposely turned off and them hiding on property surveillance so they could get away with their hit job. Yet when it comes to their own allies who are doing the same exact things if not 50 times worse. It's literally just a letter in a slap on the hand. The double standards need to stop.

I know for a fact DC is not the only Federal police agency that has an FFL and which sells firearms to employees. I have always wondered about whether or not those employee purchased firearms were later used in crimes, especially when an employee purchased multiple firearms of the same type while living in the DC area or near NYC.

Question?? Wouldn’t the correct twist barrel dramatically increase the accuracy and if so what twist??? Would not mind tinkering around with the cmmg kit with a barrel swap.

I live in Detroit,it doesn't matter where you are. If there is an opportunity for a criminal to make money or" hit a lick",or if he sees an enemy he deems a threat,or if they are pulled over,and their attitude is "not going out like that" and decide to shoot it out with police. What I'm saying is the criminals are going to be where you are sometimes and you have no control when a shoot out is going to go down. So many times I've turned on the news to hear that an 8 year old was in their own house having a pajama party with her friends and a bullet came through the kitchen window and killed the little girl. Once a guy saw a car go past his house that he thought he recognized as a threat,he stood on his front porch,fired a rifle in the general direction of the car. The round went through the tail light drivers side,hit a 22 yr old female. Her Mother was on the passenger side,and she was like Mom I don't feel so good and pulled over to found she had been shot. DPD has tracer technology that can see where the bullet came from,that's how they caught the guy. I'm just saying you can't always control your safety no matter what you do. I not saying you're wrong. If you go where you know something may jump off,you're stupid. There are places on East 7 mile road you should not go to,especially if you are not from that area. Any way great segment,always informative. Appreciate the research you do to keep us informed.

It would be helpful to know how many of the guns used in crimes were stolen and if stolen were they reported stolen? The only cases that should matter are the ones where someone got a gun because of a mistake. I don't think you should have to ask permission but it would be interesting to see some stats to get an understanding of what is really going on.

The entire concept of “time to crime” is flawed. They say guns are “found at crime scenes” but not that guns are actually used in crimes. What if a criminal kills a legal gun owner whose legal gun in then found at the scene? That gun was being lawfully used for defense, not being used in a crime. The criminals gun is taken away from the scene but the vics legal gun is found! These stats are absolutely meaningless and prove and show nothing.

They're DC police, they're the first line of order in DC, not the Feds or Secret Service. If DC Police walk away, the elites will have to replace them fast and they just spend so much money on Ukraine and Isreal.

I just bought a KEL-TEC P17 .22 LR last night on sale for $179.99. All my local shops know me pretty well and have sold me lots of stuff over the years. I'm sure they were wondering why I would buy/want that gun when I was buying it yesterday. I told them the truth and I was buying it for a cheap beater for use as a fishing/boat/tacklebox gun and a gun I can carry while on the John Deere tractor mowing. You never know what is going to happen while out in a boat fishing and I've been pitched into the drink many times over the years after my boat was buzzed by a speed boat that was too close. I've gone head first off the front and back deck after the wake/wave hit. Luckily I didn't have one of my good handguns on and it was secured elsewhere in the boat under the steering wheel panel and dash. I'd rather have it on me and I'd rather it be a cheaper handgun while doing it. I also bought a Taurus G3C for my 9mm centerfire over a year ago. That way I can have a 9mm and a .22 LR for different purposes both onboard. 9mm is for people and the .22 LR is for varmints/pests. I'm sure it was running their minds that it was a straw purchase or something might be fishy just because of how out of character it was buying something so cheap from a guy who really knows his stuff and has it. Nope....afraid not and it was TRUE and why I wanted it. There's really no reason to have a $500+ gun out in a boat primarily for fishing and also riding a tractor while mowing lawn.
