Travis I think you nailed the perfect timing for this video! That's perfect! I have only caught it like that one time in all the years I have came during the fall. One year we saw it very pretty the first afternoon we arrived but a small rain shower happened overnight and it was just like all the leaves changed within hours. Best trip ever!

Thanks Pierce! The Fall colors don't last long. I live here and have missed them many years. They'll peak during the week, and a hard rain storm will knock leaves off before I can get to the mountains that weekend. It's tricky, but I got to see them this time. 😁

On the back roads, less traveled by, especially in our time in the middle of the last century, we had to be very careful in the autumn. Falling leaves and the incessant moisture of those dark and tree shrouded mountains made for very slick roads. Not that much traffic, and the roads twisted and turned. A slow passage was just fine because she would snuggle up under my arm, and we were in no hurry. Courting was a delight. And it lasted.
