I love how the prosthetic arm doesn't function exactly like the real arm, personally. Real prosthetics don't work quite the same as flesh limbs and few people seem to acknowledge that.

So oftentimes you see urchins running in the streets with tiny plastic loops braided into their hair (similar to how beads would be) in an attempt to look tough. :)

Tbh this is a really good analysis. Practicality is important when designing a character however in real life most people wear things purely because they like wearing them and not because it’s practical. There’s nothing practical about jewelry of any kind but people still wear it because they like it so why can’t fantasy characters do the same?

Like, where is the practicality in widening your earlobe and putting a hoop inside? Yet people do it, and even in a cyberpunk setting they would do things that make them look badass just for the fuck of it.
Also it could be a cultural thing, like with the ear widening in some places. Or it could be social/statice signal like how in the Ming dynasty noble women would grow their nails to ridiculously impractical lengths to show their statice

The same car he and his beloved grandfather crashed in one night. Ty survived, with injuries to his arm. His grandfather was not so lucky. Ty continued to be a street mechanic in honor of him and kept the ring hanging over his heart to remind him. Also, he hangs things on it that his right hand can't hold while his left hand is busy. The other rings in his hair are not nearly so heavy and just balance out his look.

Yes, functionality is an important part, yet when you design a character you also got to have in mind that it is, in fact, a *character* with their own back story, likings etc. We like to style our hair so why wouldn't this character like so too? Having a purely functional design for a person always takes away from their "humanity" and personality, in my opinion. We like to do random shit purely out of 'aesthetic', so let made up characters have that liberty too and go wild :D

I have a decent backstory for the prosthetic arm. He was a traveler in the Japan / Korea region trying to make money by selling things that he had found on his adventures. On an adventure to find a mystic artifact that rested deep underground and surrounded by treasure, Ty Tanium was cornered by a legendary beast known to show no mercy to the people who try an enter the cavern. With only a few weapons, a mastery over Kendo and Taekwondo to his name, he tried to escape. Ty Tanium used his skills to dodge the beast’s mighty blows but he got pinned to the cold ground. He struggled to escape the monstrous grip and just barely moved out of the way to dodge what could have been the final blow but not unscathed. The beast had taken part of his forearm clean off. Ty, with a sense of adrenaline, escaped and swore to never return until he was ready. The doctors could only remove the rest of his forearm to stop the infection that had taken place but had no proper prosthetic for the price Ty could pay. He was enraged by this, and with the help of his sister, (maybe a future doll) created his own arm. I hope you like my backstory behind it.

Same, I distinctly remember when I got a doll with elastic hip joints. Anyone remember the dumb rubber leg joints that only bent 5 degrees. Man Where were all the articulated dolls when I was trying to get my dolls to actually sit down.
I love him! Especially his Mohawk. He looks a bit more post-apocalyptic/diesel-punk instead of steampunk but is still awesome. 90% rubbing alcohol on a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or something similar is perfect for removing Deuce's and Jackson's tattooing, as well as the face paint on the big dolls. It won't harm the plastic.

Ty is my favorite doll on the Dollightful channel. I adore his aesthetic and it inspires me to amp up my own work and character designs.

He looks a bit more post-apocalyptic/diesel-punk instead of steampunk but is still awesome.
90% rubbing alcohol on a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser or something similar is perfect for removing Deuce's and Jackson's tattooing, as well as the face paint on the big dolls. It won't harm the plastic.

I love this doll! As a Canadian, when you erased those strips in his eyebrow I thought, took a hockey stick to the face. I've seen so many of that exact missing hair scarred eyebrow!

I think the rings on his hair could be lit on fire and he blows through them. And sometimes he goes to nearby festivals to kind of "entertain" young kids because he likes how happy they look after.

You know, the ones who’s chivalrous and kind even though he has no reason to be, but also dashing and adventurous, and also inexplicably handsome despite the zombies/mutants/world-ending-whatevers that are making everyone else look like their face has been turned inside-out?
