@steadytrucker. Thanks for all of your amazing content. Quick question. Do you think having a dock height rail lift gate would have helped you secure more load and help with loading/unloading? I have a 14' box truck and thinking about adding a dock height lift gate. Still doing research so I can do this business legally. Thanks
Let's say your break even point is 35¢/mi, what profit is acceptable for you in order to make a living and earn some wealth for things like retirement?
Good question. Hard to give short answer. I worked at AT&T for 17. Making about 33/hr when I left( with "benefits"). Benefits aren't really a benefit anymore, you pay for them now. After taxes and paying for my benefits I would bring home about $800 a week. Last week I worked less than 2 days and brought home more. Everyone would tend to agree that working for a big company with benefits for $30 an hour is a great job. I sort of gage myself by that standard. As far as the income I'm making much more and much more stress free. I guess the rest depends on your life style and goals. I already feel like I'm retired. I can park my truck for a few months and then go right back to it. If I make $1500 a week net, I'm more than happy. I can pay bills, invest and play.
....BTW.... I just thought of the REVERSE PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU MAKE A DELIVERY,AND YOU ARE NOT DOCK HIGH ALSO!! OUCH!!😵😖😫🤬 How do you let your shippers know that they will need a Forklift RAMP in order for you to take a load!?!?
I didn't think to mention but I almost had to take a load back because the receiver only unloaded from a dock. Luckily they let me hand transfer from my truck to a pallet.
@@steadytrucker hummmm......I'm just wondering how many times has our good friend,Je##y,from,SM#LL B#X TR#CKING,has had that problem????🤔🤔🤔🤔...hummmm.btw.... I haven't heard from him in a while......🤔🤔🤔🤔
That's funny....🤔🤔🤔JE##Y, from SBT,never had a problem with "Pushing" 500-1000 pounds UP a 15-25 degree slope to UNLOAD his Cargo to get DOCK HIGH!!! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Great points!!! I never thought of those two problems with the angle of the truck and the bumper clearance...
You should start a new series called, “super trucker says”!
Lol. I was going to do a super trucker comment from my comment section every week. I did it a couple times but forgot all about it until now.
I’m a new subscriber and would love to talk with you.
Hello Steady Does this box truck require E log and weight station? Same model and size of your truck
Yes. Any gvwr over 10k requires both
Thanks super helpful

Yes and no but that would have eliminated my sleeper and towing a trailer. Most of my loads are for the flatbed now
Love your videos. How do you get your loads without using ramps in a small box truck?
I tried ramps but 99% of shippers will not let you use them. I use every loadboard I can plus some contacts I've made.
@@steadytrucker thanks so much. I’ve just started and turns out, majority of shippers use forklifts so it’s all good
How much do the f150 and trailor weight?
My f150 weighs around 6000lbs the trailer weighs around 3200lbs.
Can you have a prepass in your box truck that will let you bypass a lot of the weigh stations?
😂😂😂 if you believe that lol
How higt has to be to be deck higth
They are around 48" to 52"
@@steadytrucker thankyou

@Chloe Charleston I've only watched a few of his vlogs. Last one I saw he was trying to sign people up for his dispatch company.
Last I heard he is getting into a 26 foot box truck
