You save money by doing some of that maintenance yourself. That company that wants to hire a driver and run a truck would not be saving that much money. Drivers cost money to hire and to pay weekly including health insurance. Not sure they really thought out. Retired now, but looking back I wish I had changed jobs due to some of the people I worked with. Just sucked and pissed me off.

When doing power only do you normally pull dry vans? Any specialty type of trailers?

I've pulled every type of trailer. Dry vans about 40% of the time. Tankers, flatbed, container, water towers, pneumatic

I'm considering getting my authority and I am curious to know if I can be successful doing power only loads but only hauling dry vans. It's the only thing I have experience with. Any advice?
