Awesome, amazing tutorial, just ran through this on my MBP and it all worked great, though it seems the steps to download the actual vmware software are a little different now. I had to register for a broadcom account, but it was still all free (make sure ad blockers are disabled otherwise it won't work). Another important note, as I also downloaded this specifically for Minecraft on a mac, I had to change a mouse setting otherwise the game was basically unplayable as my view was snapping around everywhere when I went in and out of menus. Steps to fix this mouse setting: - Stop the VM - Open Virtual Machine Menu -> Settings - Keyboard & Mouse - Open the "more options" menu on your selected profile with the three dots -> Edit Profile - Select the General tab at the top of the dialog - Open the "Gaming" dropdown and select "Always optimize mouse for games" - Start up your VM again and you should be good to go. Note that the downside of this seems to be that your mouse might not automatically move between the VM and your host machine anymore. For me that trade off was fine considering I only use this VM to play Minecraft. Just use Ctrl + Cmd or Cmd + Tab to get out of the VM.

Once in the VM can I open a second, third ect.. screen/box, drag it to another display/monitor and run multiple displays/monitors in the VM? I am running 4 external monitors on my M1, unfortunately I can't run the APPS I need in IOS and need Windows 10/11 to run them. THANKS GREAT VIDEO

This windows 11 installation requires 64GB of internal hard disk. Do I need to use Disk Utility in MacBook Air m1 to create a 64 GB partition in my MacBook internal hard drive before installing windows 11 ? OR does the VMware Fusion automatically create such a partition in the internal disk drive of the MacBook? What software would you recommend for making a backup of Windows 11 in case it crashes? Time Machine cannot handle windows backups. Thank you and may God bless you for your great help to others.

Hey I actually tried this on the exact same Mac mini m2 8gb ram 256 ssd. One issue is that the VM takes a lot of storage around 1/4 of the internal storage. For games it’s not great as there is latency. For work I think this will work well, I set mine to 6cores and 5GB RAM and it worked well, just macOS was a bit slow when VM was running

Reducing the resolution helps increase frame rate.

My understanding is that you can't run ARM VMs on intel chips.

The performance comes down to your CPU and RAM
