As I read in a forum this can happen when I have downloaded the iso for intel processors, but I downloaded it (as shown in the video) with parallels and there the installation on my M1 Mac finishes without any problem. Does anyone has a solution for me?
What I’d really appreciate is a way to install macOS Mojave virtual machine running later versions of macOS, ie run 32-bit Mac apps. I’ve managed to do so with VirtualBox but performance is woeful. I also couldn’t work out the settings, and ideally able to have virtual machines connect with the same app server as if they were all running Mojave natively. But this Windows ARM on Apple Silicon is pretty cool too. Bummer business use for VMware Fusion is so expensive.
Try using UTM for this, probably is gonna be nicer due to use KVM in the backend (which for running 32bit MacOS is perfect). But I've never tried to set a Mac VM on it, maybe doing a UTM forum/formula search, or GPTing it could work

@@reverend_wintondupree Experience has been excellent. No problems with VBA (including forms) and the keyboard works as I expect - certainly not noticed any problems. It is literally like having Windows on my MacBook, especially when full-screen. As far as I can tell, performance hasn't been an issue on default settings. I think you can alter processor parameters if need be. I had the VM shut down for a week or so and just booted it back up - I think it took less than 5 seconds to get to Windows desktop. And as said before, i tend to just leave it running and swipe between screens. Overall, for very little effort you can have something pretty awesome that just kind of works. Very definitely recommend this setup. As a little experiment I also built a VM Linux instance - not bad, but options for distros are limited and I think better solutions for Linux on Mac exist. I keep a Windows PC for 'legacy' work, but now am thinking of getting a Mac Mini and just having a VM Windows for legacy. Go for it - the worst that can happen is you don't like it and delete it!

I have, and have mixed feelings. Regarding UTM vs VMware’s smoothness and animations, yes, VMware wins for sure. Question. You mentioned something about purchasing a Windows 11 Home license from MS because that version is cheaper. Would I need to purchase a license at all if I just want to mess around with Windows 11 on my M2 MacBook Air?
So it worked... with a caveat! There are things the video does not mentioned such as Parallels is trying to force you to give them access to your files, they try to trick you to activate the free trial, multiple pop ups as you are trying to download the windows ISO file. Also there are two versions of Parallels 19.dmg. By trial and error I downloaded the wrong one. Also because VMware Fusion was bought by some random company the setup is different. Apparently "Player" has been discontinued, something the video does not mentioned. There is more, but this is the main stuff I remember. Again, trial and error. Don't expect this video to spoon feed you everything (close) but you will need to take a systematic approach.
Yeah I had parallel before and now every time I tried to download the iso it asks me to upgrade. How do I bypass this or I may downloaded the version of the parallel.
I couldn't skip and use offline mode after using OOBE cmd. Easily solved it by temporarily disabling the network adapter for the virtual machine. Excellent guide. Thank you! Also, Parallels didn't download to downloads folder in this new version of Parallels. It was stored in Library/Application Support/Parallells and in some folder for downloads. That install ISO didn't work. The VMware Fusion's download for arm W11 did however work.
Nice tutorial! just hope that this works for my Apple Silicon M1 (looks very promising). I am in the process of downloading the VMware . Created and logged in the account but I am seeing message when I looking for license key and the message says "your download request has been received and is under review for download eligibility". Is this normal? If yes, how much time it takes before I can get the key?? ****UPDATE*** I am able to login in the VM now as I was able to grab the license key from the web after sometime. Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial.
I know there was a VMware Player for Windows and desktop Linux, that was later rebranded to VMware Workstation Player, and now there's a VMware Fusion Player for macOS?! 🤯 Also, I seem to remember a third-party website that was somehow able to get Windows installation media and also generate them for Windows Insider builds that didn't have them, but I can't remember what that website was called. (7:30) You could probably secondary click on the Start button (Control+Click on macOS should map to that) or press Windows+X (which I think would be mapped to Option+X or Command+X), then click "PowerShell (Admin)".

Hello After clicking the "PLAY BUTTON" I am receiving a PXE-E16 No valid offer received error. Does anyone know why?
Yeah, me too.
When it exists to the SHELL prompt, type exit. A new screen appears and select boot manager, from there select DVD. It seems to work from there on.
After bypassing and entering into the region or state it says something went wrong you can try again or skip for now OOBEKEYBOARD
The ISO file does not appear after it validated. What should I do?
what did u do
iso still there when u guys download it just give it more few minute then it will pup out by itself.I LOVE YOU BRO
Tried SO many different videos about UTM and other VM's, this was the only one that actually worked and allowed me to download it and finally get Power BI on my MacBook. Thanks!
I've been trying to reinstall Windows 11 from scratch 15 times since yesterday. It freezes on the screen that says "Let's connect you to a network," and I can't proceed. The "Next" button is inactive and I can't click on it. Even though I disconnected from the internet, the section that says "I don't have internet" doesn't appear just to the left of the "Next" button, and I can't proceed past this screen. I own an MBP M2 Pro with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.
Needs a title edit. Let's not be intentionally misleading as to what OS this is referring to.
Great video in terms of explaining and length! And now the big question, should I install it on a Mac mini M2 base model because of the 8gb RAM?
Okay I got the fix for the option right-click > Run with Powershell not appearing.
Open up Command Prompt
type in this exact prompt, but with PATH TO FILE as the path to the setup.exe file. You get this path by right-clicking the setup.exe file and -Copy Path.
powershell -noexit "& ""PATH TO FILE"""
Hey, I got this problem where I can't open VMWare after the installation, it just has a lock above the app icon. Maybe it's because of MacOS Sonoma.
Hey, i got the same problem. Did you find any solution for this?

Bruh! 🌟 Gold star for you. After reading a bunch of reddit posts that basically said this was impossible, I found your video and it worked like a charm even for 11 Pro. Life saver man!
I can't find that iso file from parallels. pls help ToT
They have probably changed the way it works, I miss that file too. Any help? Thanks
Used a random ISO I found online and ran it through UTM and my MacBook was on fire. Used this method and a lot better.
who was the first person to figure this out and I am curious how would you go about figuring out all of those steps, genuinely curious. I am studying software development and genuinely curious.
Thanks for this excelent tutorial, but one issue I had. Thee oobe/bypassnro did not work so I had to go to c:\windows\system32\oobe and run the bypassnro.cmd from there.
So with this setup you're able to run x86 softwares through the VM?
Thank you for the video. I bought the standard license for Parallels for my Macmini M2 pro, and I've been loving it.
DOES IT WORK IN 2024 ??
yes.. I did just now... Tnx
Is there a way to download the ARM ISO another way? I signed up for Parallels about 6 weeks ago (before your video), and I couldn't figure it out then. Now, the trial has expired and it won't let me re-download and install the software to get the ARM ISO. It won't let me continue since the trail period is over.
You can download the iso without needing the trial.
Does not work any more. Parallels does not give you the iso any more.
Copying from another comment considering the file is just hidden now. You can find it though:
If you can't find the iso file in your downloads folder then follow these steps:
1. Click on apple logo (Top right corner)
2. Click on About this Mac
3. Click More Info
4. Go to bottom of this About section and click Storage Settings
5. Click on i button of Documents Folder
6. Go to File Browser
7. Click Command+Shift+. at the same time. (This will open up hidden folders)
8 Now select Library>Parallels>Downloads.
9. Here you go, this folder contains the iso file of windows11.
If this helps, give this comment a like, if not then reply to this comment I'll help you.
Could you do a shoutout between Parallels, VMWare , and UTM ? It would be great to see a side by side comparison!
I didn't get an ISO I got a PVM file D:
Great video thanx! Just one question. IS there a memory leak? at UTM you provide 4gb and it keeps using the double amount.
Thanx
Thank you for this guide, however after I select Windows 11 home, I got an error saying this PC can’t run Windows 11. I followed the exact steps in the video, any idea? I’m using a M1 MacBook Air 16/500 configuration. Thanks for any help!
I got it to work now, on the boot firmware part, need to check the UEFI Secure Boot.
@@rayyu882 Nothing here. Instead of start installation, it shows "Start PXE over IPv4. PXE-16 : No valid offer received." and others like this, in a terminal window.
@@atilac You have to press a key fast after the screen goes: Press any key. If you do not press any key then comes this message.
I did everything like in the video, but when I try to install Win11 from the ISO that I got from Parallels I just see `Start PXE over IPv4.`.
As I read in a forum this can happen when I have downloaded the iso for intel processors, but I downloaded it (as shown in the video) with parallels and there the installation on my M1 Mac finishes without any problem.
Does anyone has a solution for me?
Same experience here
What I’d really appreciate is a way to install macOS Mojave virtual machine running later versions of macOS, ie run 32-bit Mac apps.
But I've never tried to set a Mac VM on it, maybe doing a UTM forum/formula search, or GPTing it could work
@@vxisto Thanks for suggesting UTM. It says: "macOS guests are supported on Apple Silicon hosts running macOS 12 or higher." so it might mean my Intel iMac is out of luck?
Thanks for this video. I followed your instructions. It works, but the Microsoft Store App is missing completely. I thought something went wrong, so I watched your video again. The Microsoft Store App is missing in your video too.
I tried to reinstall the app store using powershell and a reinstall script, but this attempt failed, as the script couldn’t find it. So it was never installed. How to get it installed?
Same here
loved it as i love mac for the slim and speed with battery and standard looks needs windows tools for few analytics works and some old apps this works like a charm
I missed the parralels trial period and I want to try win11 on M1. Is there any way to restart parallels trial or download win11 iso file directly? can it be used with VMware? thank you
Woah, mind blown! I installed Windows on a MacBook 12 and it worked great. I have a specific requirement to use Excel and the MacOS version is not good... Swiping between WIndows and MacOS could be game changing for me instead of rebooting every time. Thanks for this!
I'm in the same boat. How's your experience been so far? Able to retain the Windows keyboard shortcuts, run vba macros smoothly, etc.?

This was just what I was looking for. Wanted to run my old QB Desktop software on my Macbook Pro M2. I had a Windows license key but didn't need to run Parallels. Perfect solution for my requirements. Thank you Jeff!!!
For people who tried this, is it better than UTM?
I have, and have mixed feelings. Regarding UTM vs VMware’s smoothness and animations, yes, VMware wins for sure. Maybe it’s just me, but no matter what I do, scrolling on my M1 MBA trackpad and Magic Trackpad 1 is almost unbearable. Now, when I use a normal mouse, everything is fine, but as a laptop and trackpad user, it’s unusable. Consider that, or perhaps if the trackpad works for you, go ahead and try out VMware!
Update: Installation of wmr is bit different due to site update.
This still works + win 11 Pro does run with no problem, Also for 4gb ram you can run minecraft.
i needed a second OS for my Macbook to watch phub videos thanks

Right click on setup and copy the file path . Open powersheel as administrador and put: Start-Process + space + "CMD+V". Must look like Start-Process D:\setup.exe or Start-Process "D:\setup.exe"
Brilliant solution! It could have come a day earlier and then I wouldn't have to suffer with Homebrew and Windows Insider. Thanks for this solution! :)

How many virtual machines can I create with the personal license? And can I duplicate an existing one?
Question. You mentioned something about purchasing a Windows 11 Home license from MS because that version is cheaper. Would I need to purchase a license at all if I just want to mess around with Windows 11 on my M2 MacBook Air?
what is the difference with utm vm?
Now Microsoft Officially Supports Running Windows 11 on Apple Silicon Macs. Windows 👩❤👩😍 Macs
Speaking of gaming does anybody know if the BizHawk emulator will run with this setup please?
I have been using VMware Fusion on my Intel Mac to run Windows 11. So far so good.
Have you tried it on bootcamp?
Are you gaming with it??
Will splitting the cores and memory(RAM) affect my Mac’s normal performance? Or will it be the same?
I’m wondering this as well
Going to try it and find out
Nice tutorial! just hope that this works for my Apple Silicon M1 (looks very promising). I am in the process of downloading the VMware . Created and logged in the account but I am seeing message when I looking for license key and the message says "your download request has been received and is under review for download eligibility". Is this normal? If yes, how much time it takes before I can get the key??
****UPDATE***
I am able to login in the VM now as I was able to grab the license key from the web after sometime.
Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial.
I know there was a VMware Player for Windows and desktop Linux, that was later rebranded to VMware Workstation Player, and now there's a VMware Fusion Player for macOS?! 🤯
Also, I seem to remember a third-party website that was somehow able to get Windows installation media and also generate them for Windows Insider builds that didn't have them, but I can't remember what that website was called.
(7:30) You could probably secondary click on the Start button (Control+Click on macOS should map to that) or press Windows+X (which I think would be mapped to Option+X or Command+X), then click "PowerShell (Admin)".
