I work for Genesis, I'm biased but I know how absolutely brilliant they are. I drive them daily and my love for these cars grows daily. Don't be brand snobs with the "it's only a Hyundai" mindset, Hyundai is as good as anything on the market these days and Genesis are better.

@@interceptor7905Yes!, German quality ended around 2012. All three of the German manufacturers have given up… but Mercedes Benz has taken the greatest nose dive of all.
Nice to see a Genesis review guys - after coming from Euros, and being sick of the lack of reliability from all those brands (have had most of them i.e. BMWs, Mercs, Audis, Jags, Land Rovers etc), ... went to a GV80 which I absolutely love. This is the first car brand that I have owned I would happily buy again. If you are ever up in Sth East Qld, GC/Bris region and want to review a top spec GV80, hit me up and I am more than happy to let you borrow the car for a review.
@supaahflyy bro gone are the days wherein German cars were related to reliability.. they are one of most unreliable cars in the market.. even the Chinese and Indian cars are more reliable than German cars like VW
Coming from an 07 G35, then a 09 G37, then a 23 2.0 AWD G70 and now a 21 3.3 RWD G70 fully loaded I agree w/ that 100% Love the 3.3T motor and also the pre-facelift version of the G70, although all g70s look great!
@@hertzair1186 well yeah, its a 10 years old dinosaur. It should be reliable by that point. QX55, QX60, plenty of Q50 trims and engines, the 5.6 V8s in the Q70. Infiniti has had so many turds in the past...
They discontinued the Q50 permanently. Infiniti was stupid for abandoning their sedan. There is still a market for sports sedans. They could've easily updated the car but they got lazy. The brand might go down.
Hi boys. I have had a Genesis GV60 for 2 years and done 41k. Effortless car to drive and brilliant ride and luxury. Superb interior and comfort. Solid with no squeaks or rattles. No issues so far. Best car I have had and I have had BMW, Merc, Audi and Lexus. Came from a Lexus NX. Still a fan of Lexus especially their service but Genesis is trying hard. I heard Adam say you look at cars generally after 3 years and 50k. More than welcome to take the GV60 out next year ! As for the G70 Shooting Brake - I agree with Adam it looks sensational. But even the sedan looks great. Love your reviews.
Great review guys! You covered it all! My G70 3.3T AWD Sport Prestige is amaaaaaaazing! Every day I drive this car I fall in love with it more! . . . and you are absolutely right . . . especially about two things: 1) if you think you need more power, it’s just your ego talking. This thing flies! Every time I push that pedal, it takes my breath away. Seriously, every time! It is THAT fast and responsive. 2) it hides driving speed incredibly well. I still find myself looking down and saying “oh sh@t” because I’ve been cruising along at nearly 90mph and didn’t realize it. At this rate, there’s probably a ticket in my near future. I confidently purchased my 2022 G70 preowned…The warranty is one of the best in the business and transferable (still have years of bumper-to-bumper left). The impressive interior build quality and beautiful touches that set this car so far above others just makes me smile every time I get in…and the tech is well designed, stable and thoroughly polished. I could go on, but you get the picture. Easily the best car I have ever purchased, and would do it again without a second thought.
Have a 2019 2.0T. Has 22k miles. Would agree on leather on drivers seat. Handles great and has an awesome sound system. Back seats were added as an afterthought. Trunk holds quite a bit. Tires are offset and last about 20k. Overall a great car to drive at a price that won’t break the bank
This channel is the best and should be very very successful in the coming years , if not already. The used car market is over twice bigger than the new car market. The fact that most car review channels specialize on new cars while leaving out an audience of that size that is astounding. Props to you guys for properly identifying a bigger audience and making content to meet that need. Keep grinding and this channel should be the go to reference for millions of people who are looking to buy cars. Well done!
Love those Korean cars. I bought a 2012 Kia Optima in 2014 and it has been genuinely 100% reliable. It is serviced every 6 months and has been used for extensive road trips as well as day to day driving. Not one single issue apart from replacing spark plugs, tyres, and battery.
I bet the people who designed this car are all former Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, etc designers who Hyundai poached away from Germany and paid them crazy amounts of money.
Chiming in from the US here....I've had this exact model G70 for two years (mine is is a '23). I have about 37,000 miles on it and the ONLY issue I've had is that a module burned out for the passenger-rear tailight blinker....which they gave me a loaner and it was fixed in 3 days. Otherwise it's been bulletproof. I purchased the G70 after ditching a very problematic 2021 Alfa Giulia I bought new and experienced electrical and brake and build quality issues for the 7 months I had it. The G70 is not as fun as the Giulia, but it's close enough!
I am the current owner of a Kia Stinger. I love it. I had it since I bought it new in 2019. Im eye balling a post refresh Genesis G70 or G80. These are such great cars.
Oh my god, I swear its been ages since you did a review on a car. I love this car. Don't understand why people want to waste thousands of dollars on euro trash. When you have great reliability
I had a 2020 3.3T and after about 4.5 years I started noticing engine overheating issues. Then the heater went. Both issues were fixed but fell out of the warranty period so I had to pay a few hundred bucks. After the lease was done I traded it in and bought a 2023 3.3T demo with 13,500 km on it. Been great so far.
What do you mean the heater went? Like no heat at all? Mine seems to blow cold air sometimes when I'm not moving much. But when I start back up it's hot again. I get when the engine isn't working it won't get warm, but when I've been driving for a bit and the engine block is hot...
All you really need to know is that Hyundai & Kia have been giving the longest, most inclusive warranty to the public for many years, far exceeding what all other car companies give you. I believe it is 10 years or 100,000 miles, if I remember correctly. Genesis, being the flag ship brand for Hyundai, is the ultimate automobile.
I had two Genesis, or Genesis -es? I found that the original 4.6L V8 to be the perfect cruiser. The Ultimate Tech editions we're loaded but still had some growing pains to overcome in some areas like bargain parts and Hyundai fleet hard plastic interior items. (Like the dash that cracks like old chips in the sun). The only problem was dealing with repairs, (some parts are German level expensive to replace) and less than stellar dealerships. I almost hope that Genesis excels like Toyota Lexus division, but I sort of hope that they don't so we get more of these great cars for less unlike the bloated prices coming out of Lexus
I bought a used geneses 2022 3.3t. 10 k miles on the dash now it has 30. Tuned, CAI, cat back exhaust and another subwoofer. I absolutely hate all the fun this car has been 😉 No issues, i recommend using the best version of penzoil oil or liquimoly oil. Catch can isnt necessary imho as it doesnt bypass much oil. But its a cheap peace of mind.
@@mahmoud596go lap3 1.5, it’s a proper ecu tune and is the most reliable tune, also go for the lap3 tcu tune. Only thing you need to accompany those tunes are high performance spark plugs. Will give you about 450 whp and 460-470 wtq. Don’t go jb4 route all it does is up your boost which is horrible for reliability in the long term
@@mahmoud596I’ve seen people say the fuel economy is actually better with the tune, they pretty much detuned the shit out this car to avoid any possibility of high warranty claims, imo they detuned to much the power train can easily hand 450 plus wheel horse power, I’ve seen people tuned with 100k plus miles the tune pretty much just gives you a quicker car with no reliability downsides
I recently purchased some Sonax Leather Care Milk, for my wife's Kia leather seats. Just for a laugh I gave it a go on the old totally worn out crispy dry and cracked cheapo leather lounge chair I have on my front verandah. Bakes in the morning sun, exposed to a bit of incoming rain, dust etc. Holy shitballs, it came up feeling smooth and soft after one go. Didn't even clean it first. Doing the car tomorrow. I'll report back.
In love with my 23’ 3.3 G70. Only major issues are oil temps here in the south west states get above 210 Fahrenheit pretty fast, nothing an aftermarket oil cooler can’t fix though, and the window and grill trim is notorious for fading almost instantly and unfortunately genesis will not cover it under warranty. Other than that get a custom exhaust and some intakes and it will sound amazing! Great video!
Your dealer is lying to you, they always cover the trim and I’ve never seen anyone get denied other then you if that was the case, a lot of people have had luck just cleaning it with a magic sponge no need to replace, or you can do what I did and just chrome delete everything 🤣
This car is just beautiful to look at and to be in. The exterior looks great and the interior looks amazing. I love that it has actual control and navigation buttons and it's not excessively teched out.
Thank you so much for this review. I'm in the middle of buying a used 2022 Genesis G70 3.3T RWD. Just waiting on the pre purchase inspection to come back to sort out the final price.
I had a Kia Stinger GT up until recently. It was fantastic, I only sold it because we bought an SUV after we had a baby and it wasn’t being driven as much as it deserved. When we need a second car I’m going to get either another Kia Stinger GT or one of these. Great cars!
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t the pram used most of the boot, my wife and I are tall so the capsule made the front seat uncomfortably tight, we also have a large dog that goes in the car regularly. We initially bought a Kia Sportage and kept the Stinger for most of the time we had that but we only drove it when we didn’t have our son with us which was rarely. The Sportage was also too small for us so we just sold that and bought the Palisade. We owned the Stinger for 5 years and loved it but it wasn’t the right car for us anymore.
I drive a 2011 Maybach 57s with a V12 6.0 liter engine. I would seriously consider purchasing this vehicle. In the US, the only thing I ask for are Lexus style customer service at it's own distinctive dealership network ❤.
Main problem with it in Australia is the price, it was almost 50% more expensive than the stinger for basically the same car. In America the G70 is almost 20% cheaper than the Stinger
I have a 2007 Nissan Primera P12 1.8L with all the bells and whistles you could get in that era: Leather seats, dual zone auto-air con, color reversing camera, rain sensor, auto dimming mirrors, adaptive cruise control... I bought it 6 months ago with 132 000Km for 1000€ i.e 1600 AUD. Cheap luxury is the best luxury. People should invest their money rather than spend it on expensive depreciating "assets".
Genuinely love this review as the Kia stinger and the g70 are two of my most anticipated used vehicle choices!!! Unfortunately due to the economy I haven't made a purchase, but this helps solidify the G70 as a top choice. The final iteration would be to review the BMW 340i or the Lexus RCF as purchase considerations as they are also apparent good choices. For market prices though, the G70 is very tough to beat. Would have been nice if an extra 5 minutes could have been dedicated to comparing the cars you mentioned in the beginning. Otherwise, video gold.
Glad you drove the g70 6cyl. These things are epic to drive. I got so close to buying one recently and it was by far the best car I test drove. I think all it would take would be one drive by most Audi, merc and bmw drivers and they would switch brands.
Beautiful car, small backseat so it's really only good for an executive car with one passenger. I drove one and I understood why people buy luxury sedans. The price is starting to not be so competitive though.
@@CaliSteve169 They are fun daily drivers that go 150k miles + without issues. Can't say that about lambos or Ferrari, most of them just sit there and get driven once month
This review is honestly what made me pull the trigger on this car. The focus on reliability really helped nudge me to get it. Got a '22 AWD Sport Prestige and I'm loving it :) thank you!
A very even review I have had a GV 70 3.5T for almost three years. The car had done 48,000 klms. It is fantastic. No issues. Except that Genesis promised all sorts of after sales support - yes I'm in a regional area - and then not only didn't deliver, they ignored requests for, well servicing for instance. I was lucky that I had previously bought a i30N from my local dealer of Hyundai. Because of how good this car was I went with Genesis. The local dealer has looked after me, Genesis, well no, not so much...
I’ve been lucky enough to have driven the 3 German’s and Lexus, and whilst a Lexus is reliable, they are nowhere near the Germans for driving or styling. I haven’t had the opportunity to drive a Genesis… but I think it would run rings around any Lexus!? (Even the Germans)
@@i.d.6492where I live.Lexus service is superior and as I keep my cars a long time will be a better ownership experience. A lexus LS is a beautiful car and very well built. Sorry Genesis for me is a close second to Lexus..
Where I live a gv70 is a lot more money than a rx. Also lexus customer service is superior. Sorry lexus for me is a superior car. Used to be a MB fan but they have lost the plot. Genesis are good cars though.@@i.d.6492
The g70 has very different driving dynamics compared to the stinger. The stinger feels sloppy unless you upgrade the swaybars and springs. Sport plus is the mode you want for holding gears. What's missing is the rear diff on the AWD, good idea to change the fluid to amsoil severe gear on the gv70 also.
Once my mum had her car written off I sent her straight to genesis for one of these. Only issue was I couldn't actually send her there because there's no dealership and because they never answered my emails or calls for a test drive. She ended up buying a 2023 C200 coupe :'(
RIP another victim of the merc marketing department. Once that piece of donkey doodoo starts spewing oil and cracking pistons in a few years she will beg to be put out of her automotive misery and buy a Lexus
2:19 most of those cars are ONLY in that price range simply because of the brand name, most of which dont even come with anything bigger than a 4 cylinder engine option, maybe with a small turbo. everyone of course has their preferences, but for me it is not ONLY about the styling or the "brand name" but the g70 has much more performance than for example the arteon, which ONLY comes with a 2.0 i4.
If I was looking at buying a new car, I would consider a G70 especially as the Stinger is no longer available. But $100,000 for what is essentially a Hyundai would be the sticking point but if there are 2nd cars with low km's under $80,000, that would be tempting. However one problem which you mentioned, I'm in regional NSW and like you said, that could potentially be a problem.
these things depreciate like a motherfucker. you can get a 2023 used model for $60-70k, when they retail brand new for close to $100k. just need to play the waiting game
100.000 for a essentially a Hyundai ain't bad though 😅 I don't know about you Aussies but here in Europe, Hyundai/Kia are pretty much bulletproof. Engines and gearbox work way better than any other European brand. So if you have to pay like in the 100.000 it better be for something that actually work, not just a brand for image , I don't see it a hard choice 🤷😅
I own both a brand new Hyundai and Genesis. They are night and day different. You would never think they were related. The Genesis goes far beyond anything Hyundai offers
It isnt essentially a Hyundai. The engineering under the skin is considerably more robust. The newer Genesis models have in fact leaped ahead of the German big 3 in terms of luxury and quality
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t agreed. My parents have an X3 and that felt cheap compared to my G70, which is the least nice and bottom of the totum pole for Genesis. Recently test, drove a GV70 and that thing was insanely nice. Felt like you were in a Bentley
They're an absolute used bargain. $45k will get you a pre facelift 3.3.T. To get the same power from euros youre looking at 90k for a used M340i. And lexus? GSF for what, $130k
@@kuvyoghmoobamelica6883 I like the g70 don't get me wrong. But I would go with either the m340i or the TLX type S. IS 500 is also another option but that's rwd. I need AWD. The stinger also comes to mind and that's a fantastic car too. I have a feeling the stinger will be a very sought after model and will shoot up in value
RC350 F sport also is in that price range, the decision between genesis vs lexus is do you want near guaranteed bulletproof but slower, heavier car with a terrible slushbox that shifts slower than a trucker or a small-moderate risk of expensive mechanical failure but awesome performance and a better interior. Granted with the genesis its a MUST that you choose one that has the logbook COMPLETELY filled out to the date you inspect it.
@chinesejohncena9137 If you're talking about a used M340i then yes, but if you're talking about a brand new M340i, you're looking at 75k out the door as well as the IS500. The G70 is a bargain at 60k out of the door and it's almost as fast as the m340i and the is500. I mean if you got 75+k to burn then, the g70 is just too cheap for you.
@lungaswazi9194 Only 2 issues so far electric brake got stuck covered under warranty and rear view camera blue screen fix for that is replaced cables with flexible ones as the cables get pinched in boot opening. Beaut car for the price looks and drives superb 👌
They're nice cars but I can't find any for sale on Facebook or Carsales and the few ones I did find were in excess of 300,000kms on the clock. I don't think there is a market for them here in Australia.
I drove one 3 days ago, its a very nice car. But it is too small for me. Im 1,90m, 110kg, pretty muscular but also a little bit of fat. The interior is pretty outstanding and the feeling while driving is also amazing. But its too small unfortunately and even if I drove the Shooting Break version, you dont have very much room at all. Not in the front, not in the backseats and not in the storage
Was debating between a shooting brake g70 or a Peugeot 508 Sportwagon. Ended up with the 508 (I think it's the nicest looking modern car and love my french cars coming out of a Megane RS) but was quite impressed with the g70
Powertrain-wise they're pretty reliable, especially their V6 turbo engines which have been bulletproof compared to the competition. However, they do have electrical gremlins and their A/C systems are junk with actuators and evaporator constantly going out.
1:36 No that’s not the same engine as the first gen i30 N, that is more on par with the previous gen Hyundai Sonata with the 2.0L turbo or the Kia Optima GT, which had 180-182kW and 350-353Nm. The first gen i30 N had an extra 20kW.
I have a 2022 3.3T RWD that I have ripped around southern California for three years. I have carved all the great southern California canyons. I live at the base of a mountain, with a great twisty road, that I do very spirited 3am runs up in sport + mode. I have had many a German car that I have done the same thing in over decades. Affordable old school sporty BMW sedans are still being made...by Hyundai. What a world we live in.
The shooting break G70 is the right choice. I normally go Lexus, but the shootingbreak really is the business. I saw one with a slight lowering of the suspension, (about 10mm) and it looked great. My heart still says Alfa. I have driven Quardra and it is a weapon. But the Alfa is built to break your heart with poor support and build quality.
As a daily driver of a Kia Stinger GT I was genuinely sad when Kia pulled the plug on it. My car is due for renewal in 2026 and I can’t wait to give the G70 a test drive . The G 70 looks just as nice as a Stinger if not nicer, love those split lights, but the interior is really lovely. Can’t wait
A person i know has a Kia Stinger and experienced engine failure at 80K km. It's been sitting at Kia for over a month, whilst it's being assessed. They are using a single missed service from the previous owner to wriggle out of a warranty replacement engine. Considering that a recall is in place. There is also a site that's initiating class action against Kia for the same issue on many cars including this. Let's see how long they try to avoid fixing and mentally drain the customer so they can give up
Hyundai/Kia make great cars, but they are trash in customer service. I bought a used Stinger GT with a fully intact warranty, in Germany only to have the local kia dealer in my country deny the warranty transfer on the basis that one of the services was 4km late... They will use any technicality to get out of warranty work. Service dept are inept as well, tried to tell me my vibration (that they couldn't feel) was due to a broken gearbox (is completely fine and i've done about 12k kms since). It ended up being a tricky tire balance that they didn't manage to balance - took it to a tire shop and it was sorted. It really is a great car, i love it, but i'm very soured on the brand and company from their dealers. And this is Europe, so these are Kia owned dealerships.
@Bill-ki4zf Yes. He should of checked that all services were completed by the previous seller. In a mechanical perspective, we all know that one missed service interval won't change anything. Furthermore upon purchase, he serviced the vehicle a few times. Why couldn't the dealer upon stamping the book state that the warranty was void rather than paying $800 per service?
I've had the G70 for over 2 years now and LOVE IT! the V6. It drives how BMW used to. Thought I'd never leave BMW but the G70 V6 handles like a sporty dream!
I loved the review. Thank you for providing a guide for people who are interested in buying this car. Can we get a GV70 V6 review? Please?🙏 I test drove that car, but I am a bit unsure about reliability.
Thanks for reviewing this car. It was already high but I think you've just helped me to shove it to the top of the list... or maybe second... behind the even more elegant G80. Like you often say, styling is a subjective thing, but recommending grey is a chundering decent into ubiquity for a car that deserves to shine on the merit of it already offering aesthetic appeal that leaves the luxury landscape in the cold. (So sorry Adam, You're wrong. But you're right a fair bit so all good.) So is this the sweet spot? Is this the only car in the compact luxury saloon segment that is beautiful reliable and fun? Especially when the establishment are increasingly becoming neither?
I have a 2018 G80 technology spec AWD with 3.8 v6. I wanted to. Avoid the turbo and this engine is nicely powered and a lovely driver. Other than a leaking water pump the engine is trouble free. It is a heavier car so I had to replace the struts front and back. Bought car in 2020 with only 14,000 kms. It handled our northen Alberta Canada winter like a champ once a block heater was added despite not having a garage
This G70 has a better steering wheel design than the GV70 you showed. So Genesis not giving the G70 the same interior as the GV70 could be a good thing.
As a Giulia owner (in Europe) I must say the Genesis looks the deal. The front is a Volvo, back is a Merc, sideways it's like Audi, interior it's a Bentley, not bad. I can understand people buying these.
Don’t know if anyone has mentioned but the chrome trim around the doors and windows has been reported to fade, peel and form spots. Looks pretty bad from the photos I’ve seen.
I'm glad to hear that the driver assistance systems aren't intrusive. Kia's are the worst I've experienced. I'd love to drive one of these against a Jaguar XE/XF and Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce back to back and see how they compare as the best-driving cars in the segment. My heart says Jag (with the supercharged V6); my head says that the Genesis is worth a serious look, particularly in light of this review.
My 2019 G70 was bulletproof reliable until the day I traded it. Only thing I hated was the failure of a infotainment. Constant apple carplay disconnections.
Ive had mine 3 yrs, 3.3tt G70 Sport Luxury. Already close to 50k km Love the car, bang for buck best around (except maybe Stinger) I dont have kids and have used the back seats for passengers maybe 5 times - they are cramped. Functions a bit more like a coupe. But I look forward to driving it everytime I get in it.
I'd argue the Stinger is more bang for buck because of the increased practicality - bigger backseat which can more comfortably hold adults, and the hatchback lets you haul a ton of stuff. I was able to squeeze a 65" TV in the back in the retail cardboard box - it was a tight fit, but it I was able to fit it in!
I live in Serbia, and still waiting for those 2.5T to show up, and of course, it'll be a SB :) ...also I do hope Genesis/Hyundai will sort out rear seats a bit, making little more foot space soonish. Loving the looks, even though I am Alfa Romeo owner, and I really would like to get either Giulia or Stelvio, I do look towards this...
Nice looking car, well built and very classy. On the Hyundai theme, is it possible to get a Sonata for testing. In my opinion they are one of the most impressive looking cars on the road.
Pretty sad the G80s are very rare in Europe that its always more expensive than some E-Classes or 5 Series here in Germany. If they were similarly priced I would hands down get myself an used Genesis G80.
When you say regional it all depends on you idea of regional. If you're thinking Bathurst, Goulburn or Coffs Harbour that's not my idea of regional. Delungra, Inverell, Narromine or Walgett now that's regional. It would explain why the Toyota Hilux twin cab diesel 4x4 is the preferred mode of transport and why Bowen's much loved EV is no where to be seen and even the inner city ever present SUV's are thin on the ground.
Anyone would think you're on the Genesis payroll 😉. But seriously, thanks for giving another option this class. Will definitely keen an eye out for a 2nd hand one 👍
@@nicotang5583there's still Stingers available, with decent mileage 🤔 I'd sort of get the Stinger over the hatchback thing cause practicability 😅like a better Skoda if you want 😂

Hmm, not quite. The G70 is a Kia Stinger chassis with a shortened wheelbase, and they seem to have taken it all from the second row. That was the common complaint to these otherwise great cars.
@TypeVertigo Actually, the Stinger was built using the Genesis chassis. Not the other way around. Ditto for the K9. The only rwd Kia that isn't on a Genesis platform is the Mohave.

. . . and you are absolutely right . . . especially about two things: 1) if you think you need more power, it’s just your ego talking.
Easily the best car I have ever purchased, and would do it again without a second thought.
right , i have 2.0t love my car until the death just thinking moving to the 3.3 because of the power
This car looks so much more appealing in person. Btw I have 2021 3.3t sp and it's been nothing but a pleasure to drive
Does the pre & post update he was referencing affect the 2019 g70?
Unfortunately the engine will lunch itself eventually😢
@@user-vk4vd7vr5t Those engine that shit themselves out are built in the US. Here in Europe the Theta II engines do not have those issues.
@@MehdiS-music not true. Australia also suffers from a large number of Theta engine failures in both Kia and Hyundai and they are sourced from S Korea
If you're Australian and ever feel bad about car prices, know that we in Sri Lanka pay the price of this car to buy a used Daihatsu Rocky
Sri Lanka ?
I bet the people who designed this car are all former Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, etc designers who Hyundai poached away from Germany and paid them crazy amounts of money.
Yeah, and ?
It speaks to Hyundai knowing who is good at what and getting them working on their cars.
the entire company is from other companies lol
Duhhh. They've designed more than just this car
@@user1989fopfrs7 yeah and?
Would love you guys review the original Hyundai/Genesis G80.
Oh my god, I swear its been ages since you did a review on a car. I love this car. Don't understand why people want to waste thousands of dollars on euro trash. When you have great reliability
Because to many image and perceived prestige is the main motivator
They release reviews (or occasionally another type of video) every Friday evening and Sunday evening.
Its been a while since I've been jealous of a car we aren't getting in the States, but that Shooting Brake is absolutely gorgeous.
All you really need to know is that Hyundai & Kia have been giving the longest, most inclusive warranty
to the public for many years, far exceeding what all other car companies give you. I believe it is 10 years
or 100,000 miles, if I remember correctly. Genesis, being the flag ship brand for Hyundai, is the ultimate
automobile.
according to lots of owners, good luck on hyundai honoring that warranty
I absolutely hate all the fun this car has been 😉
No issues, i recommend using the best version of penzoil oil or liquimoly oil.
Catch can isnt necessary imho as it doesnt bypass much oil. But its a cheap peace of mind.
What tune did u use ? Also how is it on fuel ?
Very positive review. The German fan club will not be pleased. Preparing for trolls...
I'd definitely get a bmw over this Hyundai.
@@CaliSteve169 Badge snobs will always care about their badges so i don't mind.
How'd you go mate?
How did it go?🤔
In love with my 23’ 3.3 G70.
Make sure there's not an open recall for the turbo oil feed line, 3.3 models from 2019 to early 22 are in the recall group.
I had a Kia Stinger GT up until recently. It was fantastic, I only sold it because we bought an SUV after we had a baby and it wasn’t being driven as much as it deserved. When we need a second car I’m going to get either another Kia Stinger GT or one of these. Great cars!
Why did you need an SUV? Stinger is more than capable of carrying one and is a lot safer than a bloody top heavy SUV
We needed more space. Bought a Hyundai Palisade.
I really dont understand though. What doesnt fit in a Stinger?
2005 INFINITI FX35. still going strong ❤
Great review..... btw, I've owned a '23 AWD top trim for the past year and no issues... NADA.. Being an ex Q50 owner, my G is in a different league...
Only thing stopping me is expensive parts cost. Toyota or Lexus for me.
Lol Lexus parts are pretty expensive too. I had a 2016 Lexus RC350 and the 40k mile maintenance package was $1460.
The G70 is incredible. Back seat is very tight, but other than that I love these things.
Cars been amazing, 2019 3.3T with a JB4 installed, no plan to let it go , few recalls but about it since owning. Great car!
How's the reliability when tuned u think it would cause any issues ?
Glad you drove the g70 6cyl. These things are epic to drive. I got so close to buying one recently and it was by far the best car I test drove.
I think all it would take would be one drive by most Audi, merc and bmw drivers and they would switch brands.
Beautiful car, small backseat so it's really only good for an executive car with one passenger. I drove one and I understood why people buy luxury sedans. The price is starting to not be so competitive though.
I am quite surprised by your response didn’t think it was that good
If i won the lottery this or a Kia stinger would be the First thing i would buy
The Stinger is fugly.
You've got pretty low standards.
@@CaliSteve169right 😂

How do you get the 3D digital guage cluster? In the US you get get left side analog and right side 8 inch digital... no 3D.
My first choice luxury car will always be a lexus. But these are a close second.
Reliability sure. But in no way I'd choose any lexus vehicles over genesis. Just look at GV70 and Lexus RX. Day and night difference

Which would be the better buy? The original Hyundai/Genesis around 2015 ish or a Toyota Crown of same vintage?
V helpful. Have been considering a few premium car options and this is in my list. My Q is this: what's better - this or a Stinger?
Great review, guys! Unfortunately, there is no Genesis garage here in Adelaide 😢
Dude. Love your work and as a fellow drummer any chance you could let us know if you can fit a 22inch bass drum in the rear doors in sedans.. cheers
I had same experience, emails and requests on website just ignored
Can you please do a review on the GV70?
My wife has had hers for 3 years and it’s been amazing and service is also good
2:19 most of those cars are ONLY in that price range simply because of the brand name, most of which dont even come with anything bigger than a 4 cylinder engine option, maybe with a small turbo. everyone of course has their preferences, but for me it is not ONLY about the styling or the "brand name" but the g70 has much more performance than for example the arteon, which ONLY comes with a 2.0 i4.
Nah the IS350 F Sport is priced quite similar to this
@@chinesejohncena9137Yeah but it's only a 311hp and low ass torque. These g70 are underrated even though they say 368hp. It's over 400hp at crank.
Hi great video as always. Can you please do a review for NIsan GTR, model 2007--9. Thanks.
Got a '15 G80 - poors mans bentley
How's it treating you?

No that’s not the same engine as the first gen i30 N, that is more on par with the previous gen Hyundai Sonata with the 2.0L turbo or the Kia Optima GT, which had 180-182kW and 350-353Nm.
I’m looking at a 2019 genesis G70 3.3t. I’m on the fence to buy it. Like I want it but I just don’t know
The A/C in mine went out around 58k miles. Warranty covered it😌
As a daily driver of a Kia Stinger GT I was genuinely sad when Kia pulled the plug on it.
Let's see how long they try to avoid fixing and mentally drain the customer so they can give up
It's a high performance car. Skip services and you run the risk. Same with all the other brands.

Fantastic review. Very helpful
Regarding paint chipping. Hyundais for the last 14ish years have had severe issues with paint chipping and flaking off
Thanks for reviewing this car.
Yes... It's predominantly that black chrome... Mine looks terrible and is not covered under warranty anymore.
I'm really really considering this car. It would be a 24 though. These cars are a steal used. Practically what infiniti's q50 used to be.
This car would be perfect but it's too small. G70 is basically a compact and g80 is a full size. They need a midsize G75 sport
How do I buy one in Australia?
Change the bottom of the front grill and ovel it out like an Aston Martin. What a beauty that would be
I'm glad to hear that the driver assistance systems aren't intrusive. Kia's are the worst I've experienced.
I'd love to drive one of these against a Jaguar XE/XF and Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce back to back and see how they compare as the best-driving cars in the segment. My heart says Jag (with the supercharged V6); my head says that the Genesis is worth a serious look, particularly in light of this review.
fell in love with this car when i went to sth korea this year! koreans love their perfection!
My 2019 G70 was bulletproof reliable until the day I traded it. Only thing I hated was the failure of a infotainment. Constant apple carplay disconnections.
Ive had mine 3 yrs, 3.3tt G70 Sport Luxury. Already close to 50k km
Love the car, bang for buck best around (except maybe Stinger)
I dont have kids and have used the back seats for passengers maybe 5 times - they are cramped.
I live in Serbia, and still waiting for those 2.5T to show up, and of course, it'll be a SB :)
...also I do hope Genesis/Hyundai will sort out rear seats a bit, making little more foot space soonish. Loving the looks, even though I am Alfa Romeo owner, and I really would like to get either Giulia or Stelvio, I do look towards this...
"Why can't I get this neast out of my head?" *Points to the Giulia video* 😂
Looking good though.
Good review of a thoroughly under appreciated car. Many thanks!
great car in a lot of ways but it's still a shame we never got the V8 in Australia.
Nice looking car, well built and very classy. On the Hyundai theme, is it possible to get a Sonata for testing. In my opinion they are one of the most impressive looking cars on the road.
Thank you Adam for protecting the children!

@@MrBau007 Stinger GT is a bang for the money. I mean I saw some Stinger GT with under 100k km. For just under 30k€.
@@nicotang5583I've seen a couple in Germany. You have no dealer network. Where do you get parts from ?
US people said Kia or Hyundai doesn't fix the car under warranty, only Genesis.
@@nicotang5583a new stinger gt is 50k. For 30k you maybe get a 2018 version.
I was also looking at them.
Great review of the Genesis, certainly a consideration over the Euros.
Not really correct to say "Genesis/Hyundai is like Lexus/Toyota". Unlike Lexus, Genesis doesn't use any Hyundai platforms.
I love these cars , unfortunately though I find that there’s not enough width for me to spread my legs out while driving. I test drove one at carmax. Was beautiful but uncomfortable
$86,000 Australian or $58,200 US for a brand new 2025, top line fully specced vehicle in the US. Why are Aussie cars so fucking expensive?
For the same reason groceries are….greed
