This car in particular has THE WORST depreciation of any car on the market.
Alot of people view Genesis as a Hyundai, which we all know it is nowhere near the same quality, but therefore, people immediately think it's an unreliable car and often is the biggest concern when people are considering buying this car. I know it was a concern for me. Genesis is ranked top 10 every year for most reliable cars, so that title is to appeal to the potential buyers who see this as a crummy Hyundai and are worried it's a bad car
@@HammysShowcase Nowadays I think most people who are reasonable and have a hint of knowledge know that Hyundai and Kia have established themselves and become a reliable brand. Anyone interested in a G70, especially the 3.3T, I think is at least somewhat of a car person or someone who did at least a little bit of research and realizes it's a generally reliable vehicle and that the only downside is the dealership experience in most areas. What I think some people are still hung up on, is simply the name tag their car wears as opposed to which one they actually think is more reliable.
When I was looking to buy last year, all I was told was, don't buy that car, it's gonna fall apart. In terms of engine reliability they're great, but seem to have issues in other areas. If anything, they're more reliable than a German car and theoretically less expensive to work on. I wouks rather take my chances with the G70 than a BMW and be without a warranty in 4 years paying out of pocket for everything
@@CyberSkunk90 been there, done that... which is a big factor in why I chose the G70 over the M340iX. In my experience, the German cars are DURABLE (ie they can last a very, very long time) but are not as RELIABLE (ie they can have a lot of issues, repairs) and tend to become very expensive to maintain after their (short) warranty. The fact that you can buy an 8 year B2B extended warranty (in Canada) or have a long standard powertrain warranty (US) speaks to the manufacturer's confidence in the long-term cost to repair the car.
Genesis''s problems isn't with reliability. The G70 is the most reliable in the segment behind the Lexus IS. The problem is with the awful and incompetent service given at most Hyundai dealerships. They're not trained nor have the interest in servicing Genesis vehicles.
Hyundai dealerships don't service Genesis cars anymore. Since Genesis has officially separated (like lexus and Toyota) you cannot have your genesis serviced at a Hyundai dealership. They will do oil changes and tires rototations, but for anything warranty related they won't do it.
@@HammysShowcase The Genesis dealerships ARE Hyundai dealerships for the most part. Not sure how it is where you live, but in the NE many dealerships still haven't converted to standalone Genesis facilities so to service a Genesis you NEED to go to a Hyundai dealership.
@@philhenderson3516 genesis is its own brand not all hyundai dealers also service genesis atleast for warrenty issues. for that you need to goto a genesis dealer. trust me my best friend is a technician at hyundai and i own a g70 that hyundai dealer can NOT do warrenty claims on g70 and honestly with g70 being so similar to kia stinger youd be better off going to a kia dealer than hyundai anyway if you cant find a genesis dealer near you as they will be alot more familiar with the g70 than any hyundai tech
The strength of this vehicle is definitely in the styling both interior and exterior. I like what you did with the door handles. And yes a ceramic tint is a must for any vehicle like this.
Thanks! Big Selling point for me with this car was the styling, nothing else looks like it, and the interior is just drop dead beautiful. I was at a car show today looking at a Bentley, i saw alot of similarities and design cues taken from the Bentley and put in this car. Not sayin it is a Bentley lol, but was neat to see how similar the design aspects of this car was to a $100k Bentley. As i stated in the video, Genesis has Bentley designers working for them, so there is for sure some crossover there.
I've owned a 2018 Stinger Gt1, a 2021 G70 Sport Prestige AWD and a 2023 G70 Sport Prestige AWD and I have yet to have a single problem with any of them. Not one. Great cars especially for the price point.
Nice review. I have a 23 G70 3.3T Prestige as well. Also bought mine as a CPO and saved over 14K off list. Was gonna get an M340, but just couldn’t justify the 70K price when fully loaded vs the 43K I paid for my G70.
Exactly, i really wanted the M340i as well, was also looking at the Audi S3, but yea, both those cars were significantly more expensive but gave you less for your money
@@HammysShowcase I much preferred the interior and exterior styling of the G70, the BMW was too "spaceship-y" & angular for my tastes. And although the powertrain was far superior (in my opinion), the BMW's suspension was harsher in everyday driving. The longer warranty and total cost for the G70 was just the icing that made it a no-brainer for me.
I'm still rockin with my 2019 G70 3.3t AWD prestige. People have asked is it a Bentley lol. My headlights rotate left and right when turning corners when I drove a 22/23 when my car was getting serviced I noticed they stopped using those headlights for whatever reason. Mine has been reliable. The inside is still nice and tight. I've replaced the tires and the brembos are still good but will need changing here soon. Overall it's been a great daily driver. Looks good out on the town and can gap idiots pulling up looking for a quick race lol
I had headlight condensation too on my '22 3.3 sport prestige. Dealership saw it when I had it in for basic service, they called me and said they were going to replace under warranty. So I've been really happy with Genesis of Southwest Houston's service.
flashing parking sensors when stopped at a light or something similar is usually a response to the heat from the exhaust from the car in front of you. Not abnormal.
It's possible the vehicle was in an accident and didn't go through insurance. I say this because of the foggy headlight. I got rear-ended which caused me to go forward and tap the vehicle in front of me. Only after this did my led headlight start condensation inside. It was replaced as part of the insurance claim.
I wanted to replace my 2019 Stinger with a 23 before they stopped building them. Dealer wanted $9500 over sticker. No happening. I'll go with a G70 in September of this year...but I'll really miss that hatchback of the Stinger!
Yeah, the G70 has pretty bad storage space. My previous car was a hatchback and I could put more stuff in that than you could in most SUVs lol. So definitely a downgrade in terms of storage space with the G70
I really hope Genesis does not discontinue this in the next few years. I just need a few more years! Once complete my degree and get a big boy job, this will be my first nice new car I’m gonna get.
Great video. It's kind of what i was looking for. On the fence about the G70 due to consumer reports knocking it so much. I love the look but also sad to see the video about the possibility of them discontinuing it. My only big question is what the cost is to repair and are the parts affordable so you can do it yourself
If you buy one new or CPO you get a 10 year powertrain warranty and a 5 year bumper to bumper, which you can pay an additional $1500 to extend the bumper to bumper to 10 years. At least that was how much it was for me. Because the warranty is so good on these cars, cost of repairs honestly shouldn't even be a concern. Tesla, bmws, Audis, and Mercedes are way more problamtic and way more expensive to repair just for comparison. Aside from the tailight issue, I've had no problems with the car.
This was a fair review. Good job! I have a 2021 G70 3.3T Sport (before the facelift and what Genesis now calls the Prestige) and it has been reliable. I have experienced the occasional sensor issue that you described, but it doesn't happen frequently. For me, I have 3 complaints: 1) The stock brake pads tend to leave deposits on the rotors within about 10k miles and as a result lead to a fair amount of shudder under light to medium braking. After about 20k miles, I switched to EBC slotted rotors and Yellowstuff pads. The pads are great, but they make a ton of dust, so now I miss the ceramic pads. Maybe I'll try the Redstuff next time because brake dust sucks. There are pros and cons with both, though. 2) The exterior window trim has faded or become blemished over the past 3 years while the similar trim around the grille has not. From what I understand, it is a known issue. I've been waiting to have these parts replaced under warranty. In the meantime, I have found that a medium polish plus some elbow grease will clean up the majority of the blemishes. 3) The dealership network sucks, at least in my area. I bought my car from a local Hyundai/Genesis dealership (10 minutes away), and about 2 years later they stopped servicing Genesis vehicles. I later learned that Genesis wanted Hyundai dealers to foot the bill for a separate Genesis dealership and many Hyundai dealers refused. Now, the nearest location is about an hour away, so I avoid going there unless I absolutely need warranty work. As much as I like this car, this is maybe the main reason why I may not buy another Genesis. To me, a car is generally not worth buying when the dealership is an hour away.
I bought a 2023 Hyundai palisade off the lot and about 9k miles in I started experiencing a couple issues with the electrical aspect of the car: my screen would go dark out of nowhere and my one day I woke up with a dead battery with no explanation. No lights were left on and the car was too new to have a dead battery
Thank you for this very informative video! I´m currently looking into buying the 2.0l 4 zylinder because we only got that one in germany (and rest of eu) The car in insanely cheap in barely used condition and fully loaded! That car lookes amazing and has all the luxurious things that the competitors have. As you said missing sound and the high gas millage are the things that are kind of holding me back. (The basically none exsiting tuning options are kind of a bummer as well) Are you still in possesion of this car? Did more problems came up? And do you know someone who owns the 2.0L version and if they had issues?
Yep, I still own it. Plan on keeping it for at least 8 years. Havnt had any issues since making the video. Been a great car so far. Still love driving it every day
I suspect at some point down the line that there will be a Magma variant of the G70 that's actually more performance-oriented. Of course, I don't know what the sales numbers of the G70 are and thus I don't know if it's been selling well. But if the sales are solid, I can see there being a G70 Magma. I can just imagine what the G70 would look like in that bright orange paint job. It would look sick. Edit: I didn't know you were gonna talk about Genesis Magma in this video so my inquiry is hopefully correct. xD
Haha, yeah I definitely hope they make a Magma G70. Been seeing some rumors it will be discontinued after 2025, but then again they were saying it was gonna be discontinued a few years ago, so we'll see. If they make a Magma G70, I think that would open this car up to a whole nre market of buyers who wouldn't be interested in the normal G70
lol we are in sync. bought mine same exact model/year, RWD, in havana red. put 23k miles on it as a daily and haven't had a single issue even with rwd through the winter in chicago. the one single thing that drove me nuts in the winter bc of salt my front sensor would scream at me every time i stopped but that was just all the gunk on there.
Heads up as second owner you don’t get 10 year 100k from Hyundai. It drops to Powertrain Warranty: 10 years or 100,000 miles, then five years or 60,000 miles if the vehicle is no longer with the original owner. I wonder if you’re considered a second owner? You may want to look into it.
Also tip look into the silver speaker cover for door they really elevate bottom of door. And swap from weather tech to tux mat major uograde I have them.
So the one I bought was owned by the dealership, it was their company vehicle, not a rental, but a car for their chauffeurs to drive people in. So technically it was pre-owned and was listed as CPO. Because it was CPO, I got a 6 year bumper to bumper and the remainder of the 10 year 100k powertrain warranty (which was the full 10 years), the dealership only had the car 4 months so I only lost 4 months on the warranty and gained a year on thr bumper to bumper. With CPO, they actually give you a extra year on the bumper to bumper. So overall, it is a better deal to buy one CPO not only because the car is significantly cheaper, but you still get the full warranty, at least in my case
I have the same front sensor issue in my G70. It almost always happens when I'm behind either a Tesla or a raised pickup truck. Interestingly, my coworkers have the same issue occasionally in their non-Genesis cars.
And the poor mileage (which I knew and accepted going in) is exacerbated by the tiny fuel tank (which I didn't realize), requiring very frequent fill ups.
Someone may have mentioned this already somewhere in the comments but, just in case, the parking sensor is likely being triggered by another car's sensors or even their exhaust, if you're close enough.
With the long term bumper to bumper warranty I’d be taking it in for every single little issue. That’s what warranties are for and you don’t want to have to spend your own money fixing these issues after the warranty expires. JMHO. Nice car though. Glad you enjoy it.
Genesis, a luxury sports sedan. You won’t get backfires and gargling and pops out of the exhaust pipes. That’s for young kids that want loud noises coming from their cars.
I’m taking mine into the dealership to get fixed. Passenger front sensor you can visibly see was mounted improperly. Seems to sometimes hit the bumper or when it gets wet pick up rouge signals off the bumper. Hopefully they fix under warranty. Could be a manufacturer quality control issue of poor sensor mounting.
Did you not have problems with your window trim tarnishing? That seems to be a common issue with many G70 owners. I've had mine polished by the dealership twice and now due for replacement.
Not yet. My car stays parked in a garage 90% of the time, so it is rarely exposed to the sun. I also keep my car covered in ceramic waxes that I re-apply every few months. So maybe that helps prevent it. But I would guess it's because my car spends 90% of its time in the garage and not sitting in direct sunlight which is probably the cause of the tarnish
I have a 2016 Lexus IS 200T, I bought Certified in17 and a 2007 SC430. Other than regular maintenance, I’ve only had a radar sensor go off and the AC fan slow down. They reflashed the computer at no cost and told me if it happens again bring it back, no appointment necessary but it didn’t give me another problem. The SC430 I bought used 3 years ago with no issues. I’m sold on Lexus on their reliability and service department.
Can't beat lexus reliability. I really wanted to buy a lexus, but in order to get the same tech, features, and performance as the G70, was gonna cost over $10k more
Front collision warning issue is similar in the Kia Stinger GT2. At least in the 2019 model that I own. Also not frequent enough to be worried very rare.
They're custom. Any car wrap shop should be able to do it for you. Just show them a picture of how mine are and they should be able to replicate it. That's what I've done for all my cars I've ever owned
Love the car, beautiful. Disappointed that Siberian ICE is not longer available on 2024 models. Are the wheels stock? Not that I would complain on stock rims/tires. I have seen a few G70's with 20" rims. It looks awesome.
Would you recommend a used 2022 or 2023 in base trim with the 2.0 awd as a daily driver. Im not really a car guy i just want something reliable, that looks sexy and gets decent mileage. My options are the g70, toyota crown used, or acura tlx used
If you're wanting something sexy, would definitely go for the G70 over the other two cars. Although, the 2.0 doesn't get much better gas mileage than the 3.3t. The mpg ratings are the exact same for both engines which makes no sense. 21 city and 31 highway. Which is pretty much dead accurate for my 3.3. The Acura base trim doesn't stand out at all, looks like a regular Joe on the road. The crown is definitely unique and eye catching, but I wouldn't call it sexy. You will probably get much better gas mileage with the other cars, but in my opinion don't look nearly as good. Because the base trim G70 looks pretty bare bones, I would highly recommend getting the rims powder coated black. Will make the car look 10x better. Powder coating is not that expensive. Where I live it runs about $600 for all 4 wheels. At most it will run you around $800
@@HammysShowcase thats acc something i rlly like too, the g70 seems like a car, as you mentioned, might have some potential sick mods available after the magma edition releases. I prob would touch the crown and the tlx a spec is nice but idk g70 is just so nice. Im also in maryland so most of my driving is freeway driving so 30mpg would be the same as tlx. When you fill up your tank how much mileage do you get?
@@I3asyl the car automatically calculates the average gas mileage between fill ups. So between spirited drives and normal city driving in Eco, is around 19-20mpg. Doing spirited drives will wreck your average haha
I'm in one of the most expensive places to purchase a vehicle (Long Island, NY) and a couple of months ago I paid $45,900 for my 2023 AWD 3.3T Prestige which had a sticker price of $57.8k, and only had 590 miles on it. It was a basically brand new CPO from a Genesis dealer who briefly used it as a loaner. I still had to peel plastic and stickers off the car, it was that new. Basically almost $12k off MSRP for a new car. Can't beat it for the price. It's so smooth, very luxurious with a beautiful interior and all the tech, fast and unique. Not that many of them on the road.
Yep, still have it. Don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. Great luxury sports sedan. Only reason I would not reccomend it is for someone who likes to do alot of aftermarket mods, there just isn't a big platform for this car, and the exhaust options are extremely limited if you're wanting a good sound from this car.
Bro you gotta get rid of those boat anchors they call wheels. They are like 36 pounds a wheel, I'm getting wheels that are 21 pounds at 19 inch if you go 18 you can get under 20 pounds. shaving that much will give you better mpg, braking, acceleration, handling, steering feel. Thank me later!
@joerichardson6107, are you sure the black wheels on the 2022-23 SP are that heavy? I know the older 5 spokes and the non-SP 19" staggered weigh mid-30s, but IIRC someone weighed these ones and they were mid-20s, which isn't too bad.
@@speedcanada1 someone in the Genesis G70 forum shaved 52 pounds total of unsprung weight. He weighed the rear at 60 pounds the tire is 25 pounds the front was 57 pounds. He went with 18X8 ENKEI TUNING TMS GLS BLACK squared at 45.4 pound a corner huge difference just with wheels. With 60 and 57 with the tire and wheel together, either the tire is 35-33 pounds or the rims.
The one from Adro looks great. But $1000 just for that, I cant stomach it. That's alot of money. Maybe if one of my videos explodes and I get $1000 from it I'll purchase it
He said that the car has a six-year bumper-to-bumper and that’s wrong. All Genesis CPO and New have only a five years or 60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. No manufacturers give six years for bumper-to-bumper warranties. He made a mistake..
This is straight from the Genesis website: "The Genesis Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) bumper-to-bumper warranty extends the original new car warranty by one year or 15,000 miles." Genesis gives you an extra year for the bumper to bumper when you buy CPO. Standard is 5 years if just buying new. CPO is 6 years. Those are literally facts lol, it's literally written on my paperwork on my warranty too. Go call a Genesis dealership to confirm if you still don't believe me or believe what is on the Genesis website
If I could have gotten the IS500 F for this same price I would gone for it. However, to option out the IS500 with all the bells and whistles of the G70, you're looking at $70k. Considering I paid $45k for my G70 fully loaded CPO, that's a massive price difference. Used IS500s are still selling for well over $60k and that's just with the base package, nothing fancy. The two cars are honestly in totally different ball parks
Big difference for me was not only price but AWD vs RWD, which is a HUGE difference for a DD, particularly for those on the east coast who see snow in the winter. The is500 is a fair weather sports car, the Genny is an all-weather DD.
Wow you had to even fight for them to warranty a new tailight. Imagine if it was an engine component. This is whh I'd never get a Kia, Hyundai, Genesis car because of those poor dealer experience
I was concerned for a second they would not warranty it, because the lady was convinced the car had been wrecked and this why the tailight wasn't working
Everything about the car is great, the only problem is the dealerships, they all suck and this is coming from someone who moved and has dealt with multiple dealerships in two different states. I must say however, the customer service is great, I ended up calling them after a lackluster dealership issue and they where nothing short of professional. Really wish Genesis focused on the dealership and bring up the standards, some of the people I interacted with were laughably unqualified. To address the exhaust, get a custom x pipe setup, drop in the forums, plenty of options available.
I've been looking at cars for the past year and this car, the volvo s60 and the alfa romeo guilia are in the top 3. Theyre both awd, in my price range beautiful but i loge the look of tue Genesis that much more. And i loge the depreciation on them as a working college student too. The only thing hilding me back is that ive been saving up for a down payment. Im hoping to find one for 30-32k ish which wont be too hard to find next year hopefully
I'm not sure if you can get a newly refreshed fully loaded G70 3.3t for $30k by next year. I've seen a few going for $38k - $40k price range, non CPO. But anything CPO is still alittle over $40k. I would definitely go for CPO to get that warranty.
You must be driving in Sport+ with your foot to the floor all the time. I've never gotten below 15mpg even when driving in sport mode lol. I drive in eco like a grandma most of the time.
Wife had the same car. As much as I loved it I think the interior was dated and the ride quality felt like a Hyundai. Did AMAZING I. The snow even with the factory tires.
See, I like a "dated" interior. I'm young, but call me old school haha. All these new cars with hyper screens and getting rid of physical touch buttons is not for me. I don't even like the new digital AC interface on the new 2024 model. The 2023 G70 has the most intuitive and easy to use driver interface and infotainment system of any car I've ever been in. Only thing I would change on it is making the gauge cluster fully digital and adding ambient lighting. Everything else is perfect the way it is.
With a custom weld, yes. I assume you mean an aftermarket exhaust for the Stinger. You could buy the MBRP exhaust for the Stinger which is like $1000. Then you'd have to pay a welder another $500 likely to bend all the pipes and fit it to the G70. It can be done, just would be expensive and require a skilled installer
I've looked at those valvetronic mufflers. My only holdback with them is that you gotta wire a cord into your car in order to activate the valved exhaust, which I'm afraid might void electrical warranty. The car already has a valved exhaust so I'm wondering if the valvetronic wound be compatible with what is already on the car.
@HammysShowcase I sell Genesis and Hyundai and I have a 2022 G70 3.3T and I have the Valves unplugged and ark down pipes, much more noise from the car. Also if you have intakes you get turbo and blowoff noise too. a good smile-per-gallon ratio
I just ordered the simulator plugs for the exhaust valves. The exhaust actually sounds really good with the valves open, so I'm excited for those to come in. I plan on doing a before and after video showing sound difference for modes such as eco that normally would have them closed
Thinking about trading my Veloster N for the G70 sport prestige. I absolutely love my VN performance and sound but after owning it for a few years the very stiff ride is wearing thin lol. But I might just hold out for an Audi RS3 but it’s considerably more expensive.
Yea the G70 would be a totally different drive experience from the Veloster. I also considered the RS when I bought mine. The RS3 last year was $58k for the base model (same price as the G70 fully loaded. But now the RS3 is over $60k for the base model. Just all depends if performance and driving experience is more important than getting all the bells and whistles. My one regret with the G70 is that it is too much of a refined quiet car. I would much rather something along the lines of the RS3 or like the Supra with a Dinan exhaust. The bells and whistles on the G70 are nice, but just all depends which is more important
Omg. This video could've been 90% shorter if he wasn't complaining about the damn exhaust. Like dude, you've been driving the car for a little over a year and haven't done anything about the exhaust. It can't possibly be that big of a deal. I'm sorry, I just can't understand people that complain and do nothing about it.
That's cause there is nothing to be done about it lol. There are no butterfly valved exhaust systems that work with this car. And to do one custom is a serious pain and you need a really good high end exhaust shop to do that type of custom butterfly valve exhaust work. Believe me, if this car had an exhaust for it aside from the crummy options available from Korea and that overpriced ARK which doesn't have a butterfly valve, I would've done something by now.. That all being said, the more I have driven the car. I actually like the quiet exhaust of it. Do I wish it had the pops and bangs like the M340i yeah, but I've grown to really like how it sounds. Anything louder I think I'd be annoyed honestly
You're driving a car from Asia and complaining about how it performs at stock? If you want out of the box awesomeness, buy a Corvette or a Porsche. Asian sports cars are meant to be modified. That's their reason to exist. NOTE--I owned a 911, a Z06, a 370Z, and currently run a G70.
Wasn't complaining about the performance. This car is plenty fast and the handling is superb. What I was saying in this video is that it isn't necessarily a "sports car" and doesn't give off those sports car vibes. It's more a luxury car than a sports car is what I was saying. No gripes about performance, this car would be dangerous on the track.
This is why I’ll only buy a Lexus or Acura when I sell my Camaro. This is nothing more than a glorified HYUNDAI WITH A BIGGER MOTOR THAT WILL FORSURE GO OUT BEFORE LEXUS OR ACURA EVER WOULD. NO THANKS
With that logic, your Lexus is just a glorified over priced Toyota. Same for Acura, just an overpriced Honda 😂😂.. The Genesis brand consistently ranks top 10 for most reliable car brands, and the G70 even won JD power car if the year several years ago. Genesis is not an unreliable brand. Their motors have a proven track record of being extremely reliable. The engines from Hyundai, eh, not so much..
Get out of it as fast as you can! Lost 14k on mine when the turbo blew out and Genesis didn’t want out in unless I took it to California when I live 2000 miles away. Genesis is joke . Luxury my ass.
This review is ridiculous. Like a child..."I want a sports car with the lux of a 100k car". Move on. Enjoy the car for what it is. Some of us dont have an unlimited amount of money and just want to enjoy a car that marries lux and sport. Total first world problems. This guy is extra. Keep in mind, he makes money off your interactions - its in his best interest to make you comment. Not a trust worthy review. Hard pass.
I agree, I have never seen a better looking car than the G70. The body shape just looks great. I am waiting for the magma version before I buy one, but I will buy one. Or if it is not up to expectations, I will weigh my options of the magma, or buying a g70 and modding it myself since i can do all my own stuff. Depends on the price of the g70 magma vs power I can make with the same money on the g70.
For sure. I think I would buy the Magma version just cause it would be orange and more special haha. I'm not too concerned with power. The car is plenty fast as it is, anything much faster and you honestly can't even enjoy driving it on public roads.

@@HammysShowcase They do in Canada
@@philhenderson3516 genesis is its own brand not all hyundai dealers also service genesis atleast for warrenty issues. for that you need to goto a genesis dealer. trust me my best friend is a technician at hyundai and i own a g70 that hyundai dealer can NOT do warrenty claims on g70 and honestly with g70 being so similar to kia stinger youd be better off going to a kia dealer than hyundai anyway if you cant find a genesis dealer near you as they will be alot more familiar with the g70 than any hyundai tech
I'm still with my 2019 g70 Genesis Advance 2.0t All wheel drive n I still love it
The strength of this vehicle is definitely in the styling both interior and exterior.
Is still hyundai tho
It's a Budget Bentley 😉. Definitely is a sleeper too
@@HammysShowcase Exactly! 😂
Retarded people ask that. Good luck with resale and reliability.
Oh interesting, never heard of that being a potential issue
It's possible the vehicle was in an accident and didn't go through insurance. I say this because of the foggy headlight.
I got rear-ended which caused me to go forward and tap the vehicle in front of me. Only after this did my led headlight start condensation inside. It was replaced as part of the insurance claim.
Potentially. I bought it CPO from a Genesis dealer. It was a courtesy car.
i had a 2020 genesis g70 elite. i drove that thing harder than a ferrari and never had a problem.
You can find pre-refresh for sub 30k with fairly low mileage and it's such a bargain!
Bought a 2023 3.3 AWD Sport, matt white with red leather in April, '23...have had zero problems.
Have the same car, except red interior and RWD. Love it!
I brought a 22 fully loaded for 27k and it has low miles. I thought the dealership was joking.
If it's the 3.3t and you got it for that much, that's insane
Did you get the 3.3t?
Just got a 2023 27k miles for 25k today

For me, I have 3 complaints:
1) The stock brake pads tend to leave deposits on the rotors within about 10k miles and as a result lead to a fair amount of shudder under light to medium braking.
I´m currently looking into buying the 2.0l 4 zylinder because we only got that one in germany (and rest of eu)
The car in insanely cheap in barely used condition and fully loaded!
That car lookes amazing and has all the luxurious things that the competitors have.
As you said missing sound and the high gas millage are the things that are kind of holding me back.
(The basically none exsiting tuning options are kind of a bummer as well)
Are you still in possesion of this car?
I like the random explosion at 3:55 🤣
You're the first person to notice!! Or comment at least lol. My drone ran into a tree limb 😂😂 that's why I added that
Their warranty sounds very appealing. I would hope that any repairs would be covered.
I got a new tailight under warranty. Was pretty easy
lol we are in sync. bought mine same exact model/year, RWD, in havana red. put 23k miles on it as a daily and haven't had a single issue even with rwd through the winter in chicago. the one single thing that drove me nuts in the winter bc of salt my front sensor would scream at me every time i stopped but that was just all the gunk on there.
Glad we're in this together 😂😂.
The parking sensors have interference issues with Ford vehicles.. you'll notice they go off only near Fords..
Oh interesting, I'll have to pay attention to that when out on the road
True...... mind boggling ....
so it also happens vice versa? XD
I have the same front sensor issue in my G70. It almost always happens when I'm behind either a Tesla or a raised pickup truck. Interestingly, my coworkers have the same issue occasionally in their non-Genesis cars.
If gas mileage is an issue for you then I'd definitely recommend not purchasing this vehicle. Especially if you want to drive in sport mode.
Agreed. I get 14mpg in sport mode 😂😂😂
Haven’t had a problem with my 23 except for sensors going off when it gets cold at every stop light😂
Them dang sensors 😂😂😂. Every person I have talked to has the same issue with the sensors lol
yep, me too, was worse in the winter but still happens on occasion now.
Does the genesis have ambient lighting?
Sadly no.. But you can add footwell lighting super easily. Check out my install video for that
3:50 Love the ducks then a completely random explosion. hahahahahaha
Thanks for noticing 🤣🤣. My drone crashed into a tree branch, so I added an explosion
My wife's brand new Santa Fe does the same thing lol
My 22 and 23 g70 did the same sitting in traffic and sensors going off randomly.
Mine hasn't done it for at least 4 months now. It rarely happens

What was the code for the blinker issue? And did you reseal your headlight?
Moisture in the headlight went away on its own.. And I have no clue what the code was. They never told me.
Hey just wondering where did you buy that warp for the door handles?
They're custom. Any car wrap shop should be able to do it for you. Just show them a picture of how mine are and they should be able to replicate it. That's what I've done for all my cars I've ever owned
Love the car, beautiful. Disappointed that Siberian ICE is not longer available on 2024 models. Are the wheels stock? Not that I would complain on stock rims/tires. I have seen a few G70's with 20" rims. It looks awesome.
Yeah, tires and rims are stock
@@HammysShowcase Awesome thanks. The rims are stunning.

Where I live, used ones that is AWD, and Sports Prestige, it's still more than 45k with 10k miles.
Gotta look country wide. Most times the deals are never in your local area. I dove 5 hours for mine
I don't understand why you cover your tag. It's public information.
I live in CT and wanted to know do you still have the car and how is it going ? . Im also thinking about getting a 2022 G70
Thank you for the feedback

Bro you gotta get rid of those boat anchors they call wheels. They are like 36 pounds a wheel, I'm getting wheels that are 21 pounds at 19 inch if you go 18 you can get under 20 pounds. shaving that much will give you better mpg, braking, acceleration, handling, steering feel. Thank me later!
Didn't realize they were so heavy.. I do like the style of them tho, will look into it
@@HammysShowcase no doubt, n75 has aircraft grade aluminum lugs that will net you another 2 pounds per wheel in savings.

This is straight from the Genesis website: "The Genesis Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) bumper-to-bumper warranty extends the original new car warranty by one year or 15,000 miles."
Genesis gives you an extra year for the bumper to bumper when you buy CPO. Standard is 5 years if just buying new. CPO is 6 years. Those are literally facts lol, it's literally written on my paperwork on my warranty too. Go call a Genesis dealership to confirm if you still don't believe me or believe what is on the Genesis website
This car vs is500 f performance?
Thanks.
@@HammysShowcase I'm looking to get to 2.0 version actually lol. But the 3.3 in my region looks to go for 33k+

You must be driving in Sport+ with your foot to the floor all the time. I've never gotten below 15mpg even when driving in sport mode lol. I drive in eco like a grandma most of the time.
You’re taking reliability after ONE YEAR?!? What, do you have maybe 13,000 miles in it?
This wasn't a reliability video. Just a 1 year owner's review. I just so happened to talk about reliability and issues I've had just in one year.
@@HammysShowcase I was thinking the same, real buttons and switches are just nicer. The ´22 ac cluster lookes better then the ´24 digital.
Can you put the stinger exhaust on the G70?
With a custom weld, yes. I assume you mean an aftermarket exhaust for the Stinger. You could buy the MBRP exhaust for the Stinger which is like $1000. Then you'd have to pay a welder another $500 likely to bend all the pipes and fit it to the G70. It can be done, just would be expensive and require a skilled installer
More like the most reliable hidden gem on the market....
make your own custom exhaust. get secondary downpipes and valvetronics universal mufflers
I just my 2020 3.3T FOR 21500....I luv the car no problems, great engine rides great. Just the stupid chrome fade, which I will be blacking out.
Luckily no trim fade in mine yet, I'm sure it'll happen soon. My car stays garaged 90% of the time tho, so it might take longer for mine to fade.
I learned something

@HammysShowcase I sell Genesis and Hyundai and I have a 2022 G70 3.3T and I have the Valves unplugged and ark down pipes, much more noise from the car. Also if you have intakes you get turbo and blowoff noise too. a good smile-per-gallon ratio
I just ordered the simulator plugs for the exhaust valves. The exhaust actually sounds really good with the valves open, so I'm excited for those to come in. I plan on doing a before and after video showing sound difference for modes such as eco that normally would have them closed
It looks like you got a lemon. I own the same car (RWD) instead of AWD. So far no problems at all...

The only problem I see is the space in the backseats
It's a coupe with 4 doors
Who says it’s unreliable? What? 😂
The Genesis haters who think its a peice of crap Hyundai that's gonna fall apart in 5 years. 😂😂.
Get out of it as fast as you can! Lost 14k on mine when the turbo blew out and Genesis didn’t want out in unless I took it to California when I live 2000 miles away. Genesis is joke . Luxury my ass.
I've already lost $25k in depreciation within alittle over a year.. Just how cars are. Endless money pits. Expensive hobby haha.
@@HammysShowcasedefinitely a car to buy used.. 2022s and 23s go for 35k 20k miles
@landenlove3051 yep exactly. I'm in between a 230i and g70 since both are very similarly priced used.
@@porfiriato84 are you looking at the g70 3.3t?
@@Landolakes420 yes. Go look up used 2023 230i and 3.3 g70 prices. 35 to 38k for both
This review is ridiculous.
Hard pass.
Looks like a stinger just about from head to toe
Far from it lol
@@HammysShowcase Ahh good points.
Anything built or designed by Hyundai and Kia is nothing but pure junk
You should go test drive a new Genesis. Your opinion on that will change very quickly.
Does it need premium fuel?
The V6 engine does. She's a gas guzzler
@@HammysShowcase how about the 4 cylinder turbo?
