These have been tried and tested on Dartmoor.
ASICS Gel-Venture 8 Trail Running Shoes
The Gel-Venture 8 running shoe is designed for the great outdoors. This versatile shoe is excellent for trail runs, light hiking or exploring a new city.
Breathable Mesh Upper
Mesh uppers encase each foot in durable, breathable comfort. The porous mesh is highly breathable allowing cool air to circulate, removing uncomfortable heat build-up and creating a cool, healthy environment that feet can thrive in. The increases in ventilation allows you to go further for longer in complete comfort whilst reduced overlays added durability and remain lightweight. The overlay reinforcements swathe the midfoot and forefoot to improve stability; they unite with the lacing system to promote complete lockdown, anchoring you to the midsole and reducing in-shoe slippage so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. Completing the upper is a more accommodating forefoot which enhances overall comfort on long distances.
EVA Midsole
A platform of EVA resides underfoot for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as they strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long distance days. EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in their step. Embedded within this midsole platform is a Rearfoot GEL Cushioning System; implemented to attenuate shock, it spares your joints as you strike down onto hard, unforgiving surfaces.
Trail Specific Outsole
Keeping you firmly in control on the trails, the rubber outsole is able to form a solid connection with a wide range of different surfaces. The rubber is also extremely durable and abrasion-resistant, which will protect itself over a long period of time, whilst maintaining its high level of performance. As well as this, re-engineered lugs in the outsole offer better traction on off-road surfaces. The aggressive, multidirectional lugs offer unprecedented traction for running up and down hills so nothing can get in the way of you giving your ultimate performance.
My last pair of asics cut my heel when wearing them in. Had you any such issues with these?
Hi, I always order 1/2 a size too large so my foot size 8 I order 8.5. I never have a problem. I have noticed that when a pair get old the plastic under the material in the heel section chaffed my foot, but only after being used for trail runs and another year or so rugged use. Hope that helps .. order 1/2 size too large and wear running socks,

I work as a teacher. Is it suitable for standing all day?
Hi I would say no as they are little more tough on the feet as regarding soften feel. However if you pop in some soft insoles that would do the trick If you need a recommendation I can send you link to what I use.

they will go for autumn weather?
Well I wear them when I am on Moorland and rugged terrain but yes mostly in the winter rain mud frost and cold.
Can this be used for daily 5km(3miles) running
I have used these to run for may be 3 miles before hitting the trail run so yes is the answer and they are quite comfortable as they have gel cushioning.
Which one is comfortable venture or gt 2?
Hi well GT is optimized for road running so lighter and flexible but the Venture 8 is more rugged and harder wearing so the GT is softer on the feet than the V8 however they are both comfortable and fit snugly. Its just the V8 has more ridged soul etc to protect feet from damage. Hope this helps.
Is it water resistant ?
Hi Well according the spec on the ASICS brand at Sports Direct they are waterproof. I have not really noticed it as I tend to wear them on Dartmoor terrain ie bogs and marsh and have waterproof sock.

Is it good for runners with overpronation?
Hi there to be honest I am not sure as I an neutral pronation.
You’ll tend to find trail shoes are neutral because off the unstable and uneven ground I over pronate I have looked into the same thing and to be honest if your running more than 5k go with trabaco 10 if not these venture 8 will do
