My husband has been having an on and off again affair for years. I recently found out they have a 2 year old child together. He and I have no children of our own - we struggled to conceive for years. You can imagine the pain and heartache I'm going through. I struggle with forgiving him and the mistress who knew we were married. I'm angry, disapppointed, hurt, feel incompetent and many other things. He broke his oath to me and God. I feel hatres towards him, the side chick and the child. Doing what this video describes feels impossible for me right now. Impossible. I know intellectually that this is what God calls us to do, but my hurt is overwhelming. I'm praying and I'm not sure that God is listening.
God is always listening. He walks with you, asking to carry your desperately heavy burden - it's the letting it go that is so SO hard. So odd that we would find our greatest anguish and pain so very difficult to relinquish to Jesus - I know it was a massive struggle for me. I had no idea how liberating forgiveness would feel, but it honestly is like a huge weight lifting from us. I didn't say it was easy and giving it to Jesus doesn't make what has been done to you 'ok' - it isn't - but the Lord will take care of that. Please let Him take care of you and heal your shattered heart 🙏🏼❤️

I can only speak for myself. A great wrong was done to me by someone I love and trusted, and that wrong still continues. I feel anger, hurt, and abused. My Christian responce is very different to the one I would have two years ago. My aim has been to feel the pain and walk in righteousness as best I can ,that means not accepting the abusive behaviour, not seeking revenge, trusting in God that he is on this journey with and will provide for me all I need. He provided Christian counselling. He also allowed me to understand that my value is in him, so self care boundaries and looking to God to protect my mental health and show me the way forward is important. Over time in my heart I love the person who has been abusive. I now pray for deliverance for them as I now see them as bound by the chains of a demonic spirit. It has taken time but I can turn the other cheek because nothing they say or do can hurt me now. God has given me physical and spiritral distance. Counselling and pastoral care, prayer and the word have been an heavenly gift at a time of need. No child of God is inadequate when we trust him. We have trials and pain but In him we are blessed and a new creature. Please reach out for support .
You missed the point. Jesus is more than about pleasing. He’s about redemption. His redemption was enough for you, me, and all pharisees who believe in the good news. A redeemed person does not count the sins or transgressions of others. A redeemed person points the way to the redeemer.

Just don’t lose the word of God in idolatry. Make sure you’re doing everything through unfailing love and praying. Even if you’re in danger GIVE ALL YOUR ANXIETIES TO GOD. And God will give you authority over the snakes and scorpions in your garden. Always be slow to anger and when you do use anger practice self control and discipline. I hope this message affirms you with clairvoyant and a unyielding sense of purpose. The battle is not yours it’s the lord. Your neighbors are not your children they’re Gods. The trouble with what you say is that although it might be true in theory, it is not actually literally true. It is in fact possible to forgive, as Jesus told us to do. I know people who forgive truly and deeply without any evidence of divine grace at all. They are obeying Jesus without even believing in him.
Also remember that's cs lewis said 'if you have excuses you don't need forgiveness, true forgiveness comes when there is no excuses and you know EXACTLY what you did and did it on purpose.. . And are still forgiven... beautiful

My manager at work became pregnant & after she had her child she arrived back..BUT with her boyfriend. His spirit made me angry how bossy, rude, arrogant & unmannerly he was. I stopped saying "GM" and ignored my coworkers. I even became rude and called off twice on the day OF- POINT IS, I had hate for them and disliked them with such a passion I shut down at work. Oh I need this!!! I work with a man in his late 60s who is a sex addict. He tells other employees about the strippers and prostitutes he visits. He is constantly bringing single mothers home and takes advantage of them. He literally makes my skin crawl. I've been praying hard for him and to not be disgusted by him. I avoid him at all costs. Its a small office. I often turn around and see him staring at me. My blood pressure goes up. Its terrible but I have very hateful thoughts about him. Please pray for me!!❤ and him!!

It also might not be your responsibility to be a friend to this guy; maybe God will send someone else who can act as a mentor or brother figure and get him to re-think how he lives his life. Earnestly praying for his wellbeing is a very good example of loving him.
It might help to understand addiction. It usually results from trauma so something happened to him when he was a child and this is how he copes with the pain inside.
I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. His behaviour is disgusting and unacceptable and should not be tolerated in the workplace. We are commanded to forgive however the Bible does not tell us to continue in relationships with people who have damaged us or are still damaging us, family or not. In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst. Praying the HR at your workplace deals with this situation and does it quickly.
I sinned so bad yesterday against someone I used to be friends with who turned on me. I picked a fight with her and bc nobody else likes her; i baited her. I threw rocks and hid my hands. That hurts, but follow the Lord's leading on how to make it right. And sitting being quiet to preserve yourself while feeling guilty ain't the road to start traveling down. And don't believe the lie it's too late and let it slide. Be quick to reconcile. God will be with you.
One of the biggest aspects of forgiveness is taking the wrong done to you and surrendering it to God to judge. It's a heart attitude. That's the first step to loving your enemy. You stop trying to retaliate and get back at them, you stop trying to change them, and you do what you're responsible for: love your enemies. That speaks volumes. Just obeying Him. He can change people's hearts and open their eyes, but you can't.

What helps me is sometimes saying to myself when I have a negative encounter; "we are called to love people, not like them!" It reminds me that, we can't like everyone's personalities/actions and vice versa, but I'd still help that person if they needed it and I'd still share the Gospel with them. Growing up my parents instilled in my brother & I the importance of praying and asking God to bless those we have conflict/tension with, hate, are jealous of, etc. God sent his son Jesus (word became flesh) to be a living example of how to live life and the commandments we should follow so we aren’t wandering in the wilderness and suffering like the Israelites did for 40 yrs. God calls us to love one another and deny ourselves, and pray for those who persecute us. Conflict occurs bc we have ego/pride and the other party does as well. When our ego/pride lessens we are able to get along with those around us. When we use our ways to resolve conflict, we often avoid that person, remove ourselves from that job/living situation, or gossip about that person to others. We might even ask God to change that person! These are not God’s ways. Instead, God teaches us to pray and ask Him to bless them so that we allow God to work in the situation and in ourselves so that we can see the situation objectively and remove our anger. We no longer see the situation thinking it is 100% the other party’s fault and we invite God to reveal to ourselves our possible mistakes so we can repent. Often times, God will reveal to us possible reasons that the other party may be going through so we have empathy for them. God also erases our memory of the situation and their exact words are forgotten! The definition of forgive and forget! It may be difficult to pray this prayer, but God is just and will determine who is deserving of the blessings in the end. Ive prayed this prayer for my parents, roommates, boss/coworkers, professors, and even random strangers and have seen God work miracles and allow me to live with peace & joy. I can say that there is not a single person in my heart I have not forgiven. If I can do it, so can you. God puts these people in our lives so we would use his method, and help us to become more like Him each day. This assignment is like working out, you only get stronger each time. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart so that I can follow Your commands and gain true peace and joy. Therefore, I am willing to ask you to bless those who persecute me and have hurt me, so that there wont be a single person in my heart that I cannot forgive. One thing I like about the videos you guys make, is that you explain what biblical phrases meant in the context of ancient times. I always knew of the saying "Turn the other cheek." But only in this video did I learn of what that meant in the days when Christ walked the earth. So much care, planning and effort is put into these animations, and all of that is commendable.
Because when your enemy does something hurtful to you, they want to make you feel & look like your less than human, but when you retaliate with Generosity, it makes them rethink their action and makes them realize that you are human, and that you are more than what they are trying to make you.

@@bummmbleqvb4025so does that mean to stay in a abusive relationship? You can forgive your abuser but it doesn't mean you have to stay with them because they can literally kill you. We can forgive and love our enemies but we got to be careful not to come across as a doormat. Jesus was kind and humble but he was quick to call out hypocrisy and even showed anger when the money changers was selling stuff in the temple which was rightful anger but of course he forgave them but he did not tolerate what they were doing.
Forgiveness doesn't come easily. I know that I'm not the only one struggling with this. Often it helps to imagine when Jesus was on the cross. Some people shook their heads mocking him. They knew nothing of him. What prayer he did on that cross keeps helping me persevere. Sometimes it's so harsh and hurts a lot. To be misunderstood, to be blamed for. To be despised. But that cannot be the reason that I can hate them or get angry toward them. I know Jesus did the opposite. I HOPE I CAN JUST THINK OF HIM through all this.❤ and looking forward to watch this!!
i have difficulty understanding why the tree of knowledge/good and evil was created. i have difficulty appreciating why a 'loving god' would put a thing such as that in the garden. why create temptation a thing that god would know would be the downfall of man upon creating it ...[?] trauma has devastated my life as has not having good examples [of how to live] shown to me. my life atm is heavy after a lifetime of trauma and hardship. i will persist in learning from gods word and will continue to take guidance from this and other channels but i wonder if i will ever be able to heal and wonder if i will ever feel at peace.
@@kk-qy4sc So, I think the tree of knowledge of good and evil was not inherently bad on it's own. It is that man disobey that led to sin. Both the temptation and the sin of man is as a result of God's will. God want those that serve him not robot. But I think this "theology" is not what you need with the story you shared. I can't imagine what you're going through. I just want to say that you are heard. And God's hears you. He says that He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is stay on Him (Ish 26:3). Keep trusting God as you said. I would also recommend that you take stock on the good things in your life. Write it down if possible. Appreciate God for that. Rejoice in it. See the "bad" from a good standpoint and things might change. Don't compare yourself with others but compare your today with yesterday. God bless you and give you guidance. A brother in Christ.

Where was i born? When was i born? You do not know. But God knows all that and more. So instead of trying to bring God down to your level of knowledge so that He can answer your questions. Submit and accept His Ways and His Words. See, recognise , know that you do not know everything and that God knows everything. And that God is good because God is God. But i can tell you that, when you submit to His Ways and His Words. Remember, not peacekeepers, but peacemakers. Peacekeepers keep the peace sometimes at the detriment of someone involved, and may not even acknowledge the truths just to keep the peace. Peacemakers will be sure that the truths are acknowledged, yet that you're able to work together through them and still maintain harmony.
I discovered that forgiveness is a choice at first, i still felt the anger and hurt but chose to forgive in Jesus name. The amazing thing is the forgiveness was also a letting go of the hurt. It was like taking an arrow out of a wound. Jesus moved into the space my choice opened, with love and healing. I had to forgive my Dad for abuse. Once I made the choice, with Jesus, he was able to show me the lies I’d learned about myself. Jesus was able to show me the truth of how he had created me. I was able to disconnect from the disfunctional family behaviours. Jesus became my Daddy and healed me. He showed me how nice and lovable I was, he (Jesus) likes me! I think choosing to forgive opened that door. But it can only be done with Jesus. He forgives us our sins but also gives us his amazing ability to forgive others. I still had a relationship with my father but he was no longer the one I took my worth from, Jesus is.
Yes!! I’m so proud of you for realizing your worth does not come from your earthly father- and I know that Your Father in Heaven is beaming with pride as well. Our Lord loves you so much, and He is the one that gives you worth and value and purpose, as well as *so* much more. I forgive my dad too and we are not that close because of his complaining and always getting angry. But I do remove myself from those situations when he gets like that, tried to tune it out or get him to talk about something else even though he doesn't like to talk about something else. I do pray for him and I pray for myself to have patience but I do what I can to protect myself from his toxicity that does not include picking up a fight and cursing him out. He doesn't really get to me as much as he used to and there are some times where I get irritated and frustrated with him but then I tell myself that even he needs a savior just like everyone else and including me.
I'm glad the context of these commands is getting explained. I think it's important to note that these are civil cases, in which no laws were broken and no one was significantly harmed. God sends rain on the evil and the good, but He also punishes evil.
@onthewayover we're all evil and deserved to be punished, but the good news is that God has given us an opportunity through the teachings of Jesus to turn from our evil ways and follow what Jesus commanded his followers to do to be good.
This is also something Bishop MarMari quoted in one of his sermons, “When someone slaps your right cheek turn to them your other cheek- doesn’t just necessarily mean to force them into treating you as an equal, but also you must choose to use the cheek that is cool, calm and hasn’t been hurt, that way you won’t retaliate using your struck cheek which is red, pampered, hot and heavy by pain. Always choose your other cheek rather than obeying to the one that is expecting you to harm one of God’s misbehaving children.

Having distance from those who have hurt you is a very good thing, and I commend you for being strong enough to do so! What may be difficult in this situation is if you have isolated yourself *to the point of isolation*. Being alone is not what God wants- it is the first thing that He says is Not Good in the Garden of Eden, and why He made Eve as a companion for Adam. “It is not good for the man to be alone.” Personally, I have had trials in my past where I was surrounded by the wrong types of people and ended up being…just unconnected from relationship. I felt that I had no close friends and was doing something wrong and needed to try harder to get people to like me. I had also been in some very possessive friendships in the past, and it skewed how I viewed the entire concept of “having friends.” But really, you *have* to just keep searching for the right people. They are out there. Pray that you meet them. Over the past year, I have seen my isolationism become lesser and lesser, and I am now to the point where I am surrounded by friends who I know are good people. Seek out Christian community, and if you are in the right spot, you will be greeted by open arms! God designed humans as social creatures; don’t attempt to go against His design. It will only lead to your heartache.

We no longer see the situation thinking it is 100% the other party’s fault and we invite God to reveal to ourselves our possible mistakes so we can repent. Often times, God will reveal to us possible reasons that the other party may be going through so we have empathy for them. God also erases our memory of the situation and their exact words are forgotten! The definition of forgive and forget! It may be difficult to pray this prayer, but God is just and will determine who is deserving of the blessings in the end. It's impossible for us to forget especially when something is really hurtful situations instead we choose to forgive of what we cannot forget, do not let the past take over you or overpower you. Have grace into yourself and dont let the past overpower
Forgiving can only be done by forgetting the offence. God had literally stated that when we ask for forgiveness and he gives it to us, he also forgets the very thing that we did. God has chosen to let go of every bad decision you have made the second you begged him to forgive you. Therefore when he also states “you must forgive others as I have forgiven you” we need to forget what may have happened or otherwise we aren’t actually forgiving that person, just choosing to be nice to them is different. Not forgetting what they’ve done actually keeps you and that other person disabled and unable to move forward in any improvement- When they either ask you to forgive them or you choose to forgive them first whoever forgives can now officially move forward with no knowledge of the past. You need to trust in them as an entirely new human being who can now actually change their ways and do better- you need to put that trust in their hands every time so that they can feel the permission to now be better- But also not because they deserve it but because God expects you to. 🙏❤️ I love you all very much, and I mean this wholeheartedly.
This reminds me of when Joseph wept so loudly when seeing his brothers in the flesh. The story of Joseph is so powerful about the struggle of overcoming trauma and how much forgiveness costs. I found the book Total Forgiveness by RT Kendall so helpful with this, it goes through the story of Joseph and links to other people's stories in the modern day. God’s word is powerful the Bible project dudes would want you to read the scriptures and pray to be free from our propensity to react to people from the sinful nature. 😊 and we can have that freedom right now. This has been a struggle for me as a newly born again Christian this past year. I’ve struggled and failed many times over. Loving my enemies has been a very humbling experience for me this year.
Your enemy is already self destructive . That's why Jesus said pray from them for they don't know what they are doing. He also said something about pearls and pigs , I think he also gave us a generous dose do and don't when it comes to people in the book of Proverbs.

Most of us have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Dear sister I for one feel sorry that the man you married and the other woman hurt you. The baby may suffer so I pray for God's Grace to cover the innocent child. I pray for you to remember that this world and the people in it are in big trouble. You do not have to be their fool nor dormat, turn away but realize that forgiveness is meant to free you and block their firey darts behavior from your spirit. May this hurtful earthly experience move you closer to the healing, loving arms and God. You are worthy. You are capable. You are loved. Go forward in the peace that surpasses all understanding! If your roommate is abusive it is important to note that the Bible does not tell us to continue in relationships with people who have damaged us and are not repentant or are still damaging us, family or not. In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst.
Beautiful! Remember to forgive, love and pray for your enemies, those who have hurt you and sinners. God does not want toxic people in our lives though so while you forgive someone who has harmed you and you continue to pray for them, they do not have to be a part of your life. This is the most convicting message series I’ve heard in a long time. It is a reminder of how good Jesus is and how much more growth I have in my Christian walk. It is easy to believe we have arrived in a mature Faith state and then we learn again that still Jesus calls us to go deeper. Each video convicts me more of my need for growth in my faith walk but also grace that Jesus is also not done with me yet.

It is very hard to love people by ourselves and the most difficult thing in the world is loving our enemies ...but if we are able to pour from the grace of God, yes we can.
Finally, after wrestling with why we should act this way in these examples, you have revealed a truth ive been seeking from these peaceful ideas from Jesus. I knew Christ was not calling us to to simply be submissive In an unjust world, but I never could articulate in my heart and mind the balance of how and why. You have finally told me in a way that is intuitive and I think will help a lot of Christians rebuild peace in a violent and broken world. God bless your work and this channel. I needed this video. I was going through a hard time and even if Jesus really didn't mean what you guys said, it gave me a new meaning to how I treat my bosses who are making me feel oppressed. I value my integrity and honesty and, I was about to give it up until I saw this video... Just in time!!!
This is a cross we all have to carry, but we can't carry it ourselves. Forgiving someone who continues to hurt us is very hard but we must continue to ask God to help us carry this cross with us.
This is something I needed to hear. Because sometimes I overdo my kindness to people that are continually hurting me. I feel opressed and I deal with it because it seems like that's what we are supposed to do. However, I stay around praying and hoping they will wake up but I know it's gods timing. It's exhausting though. If our loved ones actually knew how much we pray for them in secret and warfare prayers constantly..I know he doesn't see me (he sees Jesus and he is fighting with flesh) since I got saved and converted from islam to Christianity after marriage to a muslim!! 4/5 of pur household God has saved hallelujah in 2 year period. My children hide it because they have to. (Too dangerous to say anything) But my husband and mother in law are not. I'm grateful God has protected us especially grateful he's not a full practicing Muslim or I may not be standing here today. So I suffer through this persecution daily and intercede for my kids every day constantly. I know Satan is angry so the warfare is heavy in our home. I am exhausted though. I know God knows I can do this mission, so I'm equipped but it's very hard. I just keep telling myself he's still asleep and I'm fighting in the spirit world to save him and keep him protected. Heavy witcraft is against me too from other side of family. I just pray in the name of Jesus that God saves him or tells me if I need to walk away that I can. I feel stagnant just standing in the middle and I don't want to abandon him when he's surrounded by 4 of us with the holy spirit. 😢 if someone can please pray for our family we need it. So that tears my heart up that they don’t know Him. So that is why I love people. I dislike most because of what they have become. Greedy, self seeking, tunnel visioned, full of vanity, blinded by their own ambitions which are within this disgusting world we live in. I hate how they have become this! But God also gave Christians the tools that we need to STILL reach them and at the very least, plant seeds. Satan will use his many tools and resources to distract, disrupt, discourage, tempt, and depress… Christians… so that it is virtually impossible to spread God’s son, Jesus ( the Gospel message), to others. It’s a constant warfare true Christian believers face every waking second.

How do we treat the person who continually takes advantage of us, as in force us to carry the 3rd mile? There are shameless people who despite knowing your generosity, will keep taking advantage of you regardless. What do we do then?
You forgive, but you walk away from the relationship (unless it's your spouse then possibly separation). Jesus said to forgive as many times as the person asks for forgiveness. Sounds like this person doesn't care they hurt you they aren't repentant. Guard your heart always.
You should make a video about those you know who have ill attention for you and how you deal with that as a Christian and how forgiveness comes to play. I always hear people saying you must forgive cuz that is what God would like. However, you can't lie or hide anything from God. God knows the pain you have in your heart and to forgive you must be genuine not simply saying it.

In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst.

I can choose not to hate my enemies and treat them with respect. However, if the enemy hates me so much, then it is hard for me love that enemy since I am more focused on my own survival than my enemy's well-being. This happened to me at a previous workplace. In the end, my survival, reputation, and career remain intact while she got fired for her unethical and rule-breaking action. I was her whistleblower. In addition, she lies so often, that it is hard to reconcile in our conflict. Loving our enemies is not possible for every situation, but I can refuse to hate them.
Without chastisement, love is nothing. God chastens us because He loves us. And we should do the same with others out of a pure heart and care for their own will and their own future.

Consider that God reconciled us to Himself through the blood of Christ. He forgave us of our sins, but He also restored us to relationship with Himself. That reconciliation required our repentance. Repentance is the key to any hopes for reconciliation in our estranged relationships today. So it's important to understand that you can forgive someone without resuming contact or picking a relationship back up. You can forgive someone even if you know you can never have the same relationship. Depending on the circumstances, you may even need to avoid contact.
True …and, with the presence of the Holy Spirit empowering you, you can take up your own identity again as a child of God even after someone has broken you down to subhuman. You can walk in joy, peace and love. You can be empowered to command respect without manipulating other people... because you are secure in your identity as a son/daughter of the Living God!

My husband has been having an on and off again affair for years. I recently found out they have a 2 year old child together. He and I have no children of our own - we struggled to conceive for years. You can imagine the pain and heartache I'm going through. I struggle with forgiving him and the mistress who knew we were married. I'm angry, disapppointed, hurt, feel incompetent and many other things. He broke his oath to me and God. I feel hatres towards him, the side chick and the child. Doing what this video describes feels impossible for me right now. Impossible. I know intellectually that this is what God calls us to do, but my hurt is overwhelming. I'm praying and I'm not sure that God is listening.
God is always listening. He walks with you, asking to carry your desperately heavy burden - it's the letting it go that is so SO hard. So odd that we would find our greatest anguish and pain so very difficult to relinquish to Jesus - I know it was a massive struggle for me. I had no idea how liberating forgiveness would feel, but it honestly is like a huge weight lifting from us. I didn't say it was easy and giving it to Jesus doesn't make what has been done to you 'ok' - it isn't - but the Lord will take care of that. Please let Him take care of you and heal your shattered heart 🙏🏼❤️

I can only speak for myself. A great wrong was done to me by someone I love and trusted, and that wrong still continues. I feel anger, hurt, and abused. My Christian responce is very different to the one I would have two years ago. My aim has been to feel the pain and walk in righteousness as best I can ,that means not accepting the abusive behaviour, not seeking revenge, trusting in God that he is on this journey with and will provide for me all I need. He provided Christian counselling. He also allowed me to understand that my value is in him, so self care boundaries and looking to God to protect my mental health and show me the way forward is important.
Over time in my heart I love the person who has been abusive. I now pray for deliverance for them as I now see them as bound by the chains of a demonic spirit. It has taken time but I can turn the other cheek because nothing they say or do can hurt me now. God has given me physical and spiritral distance. Counselling and pastoral care, prayer and the word have been an heavenly gift at a time of need. No child of God is inadequate when we trust him. We have trials and pain but In him we are blessed and a new creature. Please reach out for support .

The trouble with what you say is that although it might be true in theory, it is not actually literally true. It is in fact possible to forgive, as Jesus told us to do. I know people who forgive truly and deeply without any evidence of divine grace at all. They are obeying Jesus without even believing in him.
Also remember that's cs lewis said 'if you have excuses you don't need forgiveness, true forgiveness comes when there is no excuses and you know EXACTLY what you did and did it on purpose.. . And are still forgiven... beautiful

My manager at work became pregnant & after she had her child she arrived back..BUT with her boyfriend. His spirit made me angry how bossy, rude, arrogant & unmannerly he was. I stopped saying "GM" and ignored my coworkers. I even became rude and called off twice on the day OF- POINT IS, I had hate for them and disliked them with such a passion I shut down at work. Oh I need this!!! I work with a man in his late 60s who is a sex addict. He tells other employees about the strippers and prostitutes he visits. He is constantly bringing single mothers home and takes advantage of them. He literally makes my skin crawl. I've been praying hard for him and to not be disgusted by him. I avoid him at all costs. Its a small office. I often turn around and see him staring at me. My blood pressure goes up. Its terrible but I have very hateful thoughts about him. Please pray for me!!❤ and him!!

I pray that the presence of God in you will be STRONG in goodness, all power and might, in wisdom and generosity, in graciousness and kindness… that the work He began in you will continue so that the good work He ordained you to do will be done with joy!
It also might not be your responsibility to be a friend to this guy; maybe God will send someone else who can act as a mentor or brother figure and get him to re-think how he lives his life. Earnestly praying for his wellbeing is a very good example of loving him.
It might help to understand addiction. It usually results from trauma so something happened to him when he was a child and this is how he copes with the pain inside.

One of the biggest aspects of forgiveness is taking the wrong done to you and surrendering it to God to judge. It's a heart attitude. That's the first step to loving your enemy. You stop trying to retaliate and get back at them, you stop trying to change them, and you do what you're responsible for: love your enemies. That speaks volumes. Just obeying Him. He can change people's hearts and open their eyes, but you can't.

What helps me is sometimes saying to myself when I have a negative encounter; "we are called to love people, not like them!"
It reminds me that, we can't like everyone's personalities/actions and vice versa, but I'd still help that person if they needed it and I'd still share the Gospel with them. It brings the focus back to whats important and helps me forgive and move on from the encounter

Growing up my parents instilled in my brother & I the importance of praying and asking God to bless those we have conflict/tension with, hate, are jealous of, etc. God sent his son Jesus (word became flesh) to be a living example of how to live life and the commandments we should follow so we aren’t wandering in the wilderness and suffering like the Israelites did for 40 yrs. God calls us to love one another and deny ourselves, and pray for those who persecute us. Conflict occurs bc we have ego/pride and the other party does as well. When our ego/pride lessens we are able to get along with those around us. When we use our ways to resolve conflict, we often avoid that person, remove ourselves from that job/living situation, or gossip about that person to others. We might even ask God to change that person! These are not God’s ways. Instead, God teaches us to pray and ask Him to bless them so that we allow God to work in the situation and in ourselves so that we can see the situation objectively and remove our anger. We no longer see the situation thinking it is 100% the other party’s fault and we invite God to reveal to ourselves our possible mistakes so we can repent. Often times, God will reveal to us possible reasons that the other party may be going through so we have empathy for them. God also erases our memory of the situation and their exact words are forgotten! The definition of forgive and forget! It may be difficult to pray this prayer, but God is just and will determine who is deserving of the blessings in the end. Ive prayed this prayer for my parents, roommates, boss/coworkers, professors, and even random strangers and have seen God work miracles and allow me to live with peace & joy. I can say that there is not a single person in my heart I have not forgiven. If I can do it, so can you. God puts these people in our lives so we would use his method, and help us to become more like Him each day. This assignment is like working out, you only get stronger each time.
Lord Jesus, please come into my heart so that I can follow Your commands and gain true peace and joy. Therefore, I am willing to ask you to bless those who persecute me and have hurt me, so that there wont be a single person in my heart that I cannot forgive. May you forgive me of my sins, including times when I have offended others. I ask that you bless (person’s name) and you give him/her all the good things in heaven and on earth. May everyone around them enjoy their company, their career will not only be successful and smooth, and they will always have joy & peace in their heart.

Because when your enemy does something hurtful to you, they want to make you feel & look like your less than human, but when you retaliate with Generosity, it makes them rethink their action and makes them realize that you are human, and that you are more than what they are trying to make you.

@@bummmbleqvb4025so does that mean to stay in a abusive relationship? You can forgive your abuser but it doesn't mean you have to stay with them because they can literally kill you. We can forgive and love our enemies but we got to be careful not to come across as a doormat. Jesus was kind and humble but he was quick to call out hypocrisy and even showed anger when the money changers was selling stuff in the temple which was rightful anger but of course he forgave them but he did not tolerate what they were doing.
Forgiveness doesn't come easily. I know that I'm not the only one struggling with this. Often it helps to imagine when Jesus was on the cross. Some people shook their heads mocking him. They knew nothing of him. What prayer he did on that cross keeps helping me persevere. Sometimes it's so harsh and hurts a lot. To be misunderstood, to be blamed for. To be despised. But that cannot be the reason that I can hate them or get angry toward them. I know Jesus did the opposite. I HOPE I CAN JUST THINK OF HIM through all this.❤ and looking forward to watch this!!
i have difficulty understanding why the tree of knowledge/good and evil was created. i have difficulty appreciating why a 'loving god' would put a thing such as that in the garden. why create temptation a thing that god would know would be the downfall of man upon creating it ...[?]
trauma has devastated my life as has not having good examples [of how to live] shown to me. my life atm is heavy after a lifetime of trauma and hardship.
i will persist in learning from gods word and will continue to take guidance from this and other channels but i wonder if i will ever be able to heal and wonder if i will ever feel at peace.
@@kk-qy4sc So, I think the tree of knowledge of good and evil was not inherently bad on it's own. It is that man disobey that led to sin. Both the temptation and the sin of man is as a result of God's will. God want those that serve him not robot. But I think this "theology" is not what you need with the story you shared.
I can't imagine what you're going through. I just want to say that you are heard. And God's hears you. He says that He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is stay on Him (Ish 26:3). Keep trusting God as you said. I would also recommend that you take stock on the good things in your life. Write it down if possible. Appreciate God for that. Rejoice in it.
See the "bad" from a good standpoint and things might change. Don't compare yourself with others but compare your today with yesterday.

Where was i born? When was i born? You do not know. But God knows all that and more. So instead of trying to bring God down to your level of knowledge so that He can answer your questions. But i can tell you that, when you submit to His Ways and His Words. Remember, not peacekeepers, but peacemakers. Peacekeepers keep the peace sometimes at the detriment of someone involved, and may not even acknowledge the truths just to keep the peace.
Peacemakers will be sure that the truths are acknowledged, yet that you're able to work together through them and still maintain harmony.

I discovered that forgiveness is a choice at first, i still felt the anger and hurt but chose to forgive in Jesus name. The amazing thing is the forgiveness was also a letting go of the hurt. It was like taking an arrow out of a wound. Jesus moved into the space my choice opened, with love and healing. I had to forgive my Dad for abuse. Once I made the choice, with Jesus, he was able to show me the lies I’d learned about myself. Jesus was able to show me the truth of how he had created me. I was able to disconnect from the disfunctional family behaviours. Jesus became my Daddy and healed me. He showed me how nice and lovable I was, he (Jesus) likes me! I think choosing to forgive opened that door. But it can only be done with Jesus.
He forgives us our sins but also gives us his amazing ability to forgive others.
I still had a relationship with my father but he was no longer the one I took my worth from, Jesus is.
Yes!! I’m so proud of you for realizing your worth does not come from your earthly father- and I know that Your Father in Heaven is beaming with pride as well. Our Lord loves you so much, and He is the one that gives you worth and value and purpose, as well as *so* much more. It is a very very good thing to remember that looking to the things of this world for your confidence and self-esteem will always end in corruption and failure and disappointment. Growing up my parents instilled in my brother & I the importance of praying and asking God to bless those we have conflict/tension with, hate, are jealous of, etc. God sent his son Jesus (word became flesh) to be a living example of how to live life and the commandments we should follow so we aren’t wandering in the wilderness and suffering like the Israelites did for 40 yrs. God calls us to love one another and deny ourselves, and pray for those who persecute us. Conflict occurs bc we have ego/pride and the other party does as well. When our ego/pride lessens we are able to get along with those around us. When we use our ways to resolve conflict, we often avoid that person, remove ourselves from that job/living situation, or gossip about that person to others. We might even ask God to change that person! These are not God’s ways. Instead, God teaches us to pray and ask Him to bless them so that we allow God to work in the situation and in ourselves so that we can see the situation objectively and remove our anger. We no longer see the situation thinking it is 100% the other party’s fault and we invite God to reveal to ourselves our possible mistakes so we can repent. Often times, God will reveal to us possible reasons that the other party may be going through so we have empathy for them. God also erases our memory of the situation and their exact words are forgotten! The definition of forgive and forget! It may be difficult to pray this prayer, but God is just and will determine who is deserving of the blessings in the end. Ive prayed this prayer for my parents, roommates, boss/coworkers, professors, and even random strangers and have seen God work miracles and allow me to live with peace & joy. I can say that there is not a single person in my heart I have not forgiven. If I can do it, so can you. God puts these people in our lives so we would use his method, and help us to become more like Him each day. This assignment is like working out, you only get stronger each time.

I forgive my dad too and we are not that close because of his complaining and always getting angry. But I do remove myself from those situations when he gets like that, tried to tune it out or get him to talk about something else even though he doesn't like to talk about something else. I do pray for him and I pray for myself to have patience but I do what I can to protect myself from his toxicity that does not include picking up a fight and cursing him out. He doesn't really get to me as much as he used to and there are some times where I get irritated and frustrated with him but then I tell myself that even he needs a savior just like everyone else and including me.
I'm glad the context of these commands is getting explained. I think it's important to note that these are civil cases, in which no laws were broken and no one was significantly harmed. God sends rain on the evil and the good, but He also punishes evil.
Always consequences, even for doing good!
@onthewayover we're all evil and deserved to be punished, but the good news is that God has given us an opportunity through the teachings of Jesus to turn from our evil ways and follow what Jesus commanded his followers to do to be good.
This is also something Bishop MarMari quoted in one of his sermons, “When someone slaps your right cheek turn to them your other cheek- doesn’t just necessarily mean to force them into treating you as an equal, but also you must choose to use the cheek that is cool, calm and hasn’t been hurt, that way you won’t retaliate using your struck cheek which is red, pampered, hot and heavy by pain. Always choose your other cheek rather than obeying to the one that is expecting you to harm one of God’s misbehaving children.
It’s an advantage in the spirit all the time. Always see stuff as spiritual warfare. And that’s what you use your love and prayers for.

Having distance from those who have hurt you is a very good thing, and I commend you for being strong enough to do so!
What may be difficult in this situation is if you have isolated yourself *to the point of isolation*.
Being alone is not what God wants- it is the first thing that He says is Not Good in the Garden of Eden, and why He made Eve as a companion for Adam. “It is not good for the man to be alone.”
Personally, I have had trials in my past where I was surrounded by the wrong types of people and ended up being…just unconnected from relationship. I felt that I had no close friends and was doing something wrong and needed to try harder to get people to like me. I had also been in some very possessive friendships in the past, and it skewed how I viewed the entire concept of “having friends.”
But really, you *have* to just keep searching for the right people. They are out there. Pray that you meet them.
Over the past year, I have seen my isolationism become lesser and lesser, and I am now to the point where I am surrounded by friends who I know are good people. Seek out Christian community, and if you are in the right spot, you will be greeted by open arms!
God designed humans as social creatures; don’t attempt to go against His design. It will only lead to your heartache.

It's impossible for us to forget especially when something is really hurtful situations instead we choose to forgive of what we cannot forget, do not let the past take over you or overpower you. Have grace into yourself and dont let the past overpower
Forgiving can only be done by forgetting the offence. God had literally stated that when we ask for forgiveness and he gives it to us, he also forgets the very thing that we did. God has chosen to let go of every bad decision you have made the second you begged him to forgive you. Therefore when he also states “you must forgive others as I have forgiven you” we need to forget what may have happened or otherwise we aren’t actually forgiving that person, just choosing to be nice to them is different. Not forgetting what they’ve done actually keeps you and that other person disabled and unable to move forward in any improvement- When they either ask you to forgive them or you choose to forgive them first whoever forgives can now officially move forward with no knowledge of the past. You need to trust in them as an entirely new human being who can now actually change their ways and do better- you need to put that trust in their hands every time so that they can feel the permission to now be better- But also not because they deserve it but because God expects you to. 🙏❤️ I love you all very much, and I mean this wholeheartedly.
This reminds me of when Joseph wept so loudly when seeing his brothers in the flesh. The story of Joseph is so powerful about the struggle of overcoming trauma and how much forgiveness costs. I found the book Total Forgiveness by RT Kendall so helpful with this, it goes through the story of Joseph and links to other people's stories in the modern day. Most of us have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Dear sister I for one feel sorry that the man you married and the other woman hurt you. The baby may suffer so I pray for God's Grace to cover the innocent child. I pray for you to remember that this world and the people in it are in big trouble. You do not have to be their fool nor dormat, turn away but realize that forgiveness is meant to free you and block their firey darts behavior from your spirit. May this hurtful earthly experience move you closer to the healing, loving arms and God. You are worthy. You are capable. You are loved. Go forward in the peace that surpasses all understanding! If your roommate is abusive it is important to note that the Bible does not tell us to continue in relationships with people who have damaged us and are not repentant or are still damaging us, family or not. In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst.

Just wanted to share my experience and hope anyone reading will want to experience God’s blessings!!
Growing up my parents instilled in my brother & I the importance of praying and asking God to bless those we have conflict/tension with, hate, are jealous of, etc. God sent his son Jesus (word became flesh) to be a living example of how to live life and the commandments we should follow so we aren’t wandering in the wilderness and suffering like the Israelites did for 40 yrs. God calls us to love one another and deny ourselves, and pray for those who persecute us. Conflict occurs bc we have ego/pride and the other party does as well. When our ego/pride lessens we are able to get along with those around us. When we use our ways to resolve conflict, we often avoid that person, remove ourselves from that job/living situation, or gossip about that person to others. We might even ask God to change that person! These are not God’s ways. Instead, God teaches us to pray and ask Him to bless them so that we allow God to work in the situation and in ourselves so that we can see the situation objectively and remove our anger. We no longer see the situation thinking it is 100% the other party’s fault and we invite God to reveal to ourselves our possible mistakes so we can repent. Often times, God will reveal to us possible reasons that the other party may be going through so we have empathy for them. God also erases our memory of the situation and their exact words are forgotten! The definition of forgive and forget! It may be difficult to pray this prayer, but God is just and will determine who is deserving of the blessings in the end. Ive prayed this prayer for my parents, roommates, boss/coworkers, professors, and even random strangers and have seen God work miracles and allow me to live with peace & joy. I can say that there is not a single person in my heart I have not forgiven. If I can do it, so can you. God puts these people in our lives so we would use his method, and help us to become more like Him each day. This assignment is like working out, you only get stronger each time.
Lord Jesus, please come into my heart so that I can follow Your commands and gain true peace and joy. Therefore, I am willing to ask you to bless those who persecute me and have hurt me, so that there wont be a single person in my heart that I cannot forgive. May you forgive me of my sins, including times when I have offended others. I ask that you bless (person’s name) and you give him/her all the good things in heaven and on earth. May everyone around them enjoy their company, their career will not only be successful and smooth, and they will always have joy & peace in their heart.

This is the most convicting message series I’ve heard in a long time. It is a reminder of how good Jesus is and how much more growth I have in my Christian walk. It is easy to believe we have arrived in a mature Faith state and then we learn again that still Jesus calls us to go deeper.
Each video convicts me more of my need for growth in my faith walk but also grace that Jesus is also not done with me yet.

It is very hard to love people by ourselves and the most difficult thing in the world is loving our enemies ...but if we are able to pour from the grace of God, yes we can.

Finally, after wrestling with why we should act this way in these examples, you have revealed a truth ive been seeking from these peaceful ideas from Jesus. I knew Christ was not calling us to to simply be submissive In an unjust world, but I never could articulate in my heart and mind the balance of how and why. You have finally told me in a way that is intuitive and I think will help a lot of Christians rebuild peace in a violent and broken world.

This is a cross we all have to carry, but we can't carry it ourselves. Forgiving someone who continues to hurt us is very hard but we must continue to ask God to help us carry this cross with us.

This is something I needed to hear. Because sometimes I overdo my kindness to people that are continually hurting me. I feel opressed and I deal with it because it seems like that's what we are supposed to do. However, I stay around praying and hoping they will wake up but I know it's gods timing. It's exhausting though. If our loved ones actually knew how much we pray for them in secret and warfare prayers constantly..I know he doesn't see me (he sees Jesus and he is fighting with flesh) since I got saved and converted from islam to Christianity after marriage to a muslim!! 4/5 of pur household God has saved hallelujah in 2 year period. My children hide it because they have to. (Too dangerous to say anything) But my husband and mother in law are not. I'm grateful God has protected us especially grateful he's not a full practicing Muslim or I may not be standing here today. So I suffer through this persecution daily and intercede for my kids every day constantly. I know Satan is angry so the warfare is heavy in our home. I am exhausted though. I know God knows I can do this mission, so I'm equipped but it's very hard. I just keep telling myself he's still asleep and I'm fighting in the spirit world to save him and keep him protected. Heavy witcraft is against me too from other side of family. I just pray in the name of Jesus that God saves him or tells me if I need to walk away that I can. I feel stagnant just standing in the middle and I don't want to abandon him when he's surrounded by 4 of us with the holy spirit. 😢 if someone can please pray for our family we need it. And because they long for peace, truth, love, joy, a Savior. So that tears my heart up that they don’t know Him. So that is why I love people.
I dislike most because of what they have become. Greedy, self seeking, tunnel visioned, full of vanity, blinded by their own ambitions which are within this disgusting world we live in.
I hate how they have become this!
But God also gave Christians the tools that we need to STILL reach them and at the very least, plant seeds.
Satan will use his many tools and resources to distract, disrupt, discourage, tempt, and depress… Christians… so that it is virtually impossible to spread God’s son, Jesus ( the Gospel message), to others.
It’s a constant warfare true Christian believers face every waking second.
I hope they find happiness and peacefulness so that the bitterness from inside should not reflect from their tongue.

How do we treat the person who continually takes advantage of us, as in force us to carry the 3rd mile? There are shameless people who despite knowing your generosity, will keep taking advantage of you regardless. What do we do then?
You forgive, but you walk away from the relationship (unless it's your spouse then possibly separation). Jesus said to forgive as many times as the person asks for forgiveness. Sounds like this person doesn't care they hurt you they aren't repentant. Guard your heart always.

You should make a video about those you know who have ill attention for you and how you deal with that as a Christian and how forgiveness comes to play. I always hear people saying you must forgive cuz that is what God would like. However, you can't lie or hide anything from God. God knows the pain you have in your heart and to forgive you must be genuine not simply saying it.
Definitely pray that God will help you to forgive truly in your heart and keep forgiving and praying until you truly mean what you say

I agree. The Bible does not tell us to continue in relationships with people who have damaged us or are still damaging us, family or not. In fact, the Scriptures are full of teachings instructing us to leave relationships with wicked or evil people, to be separate from them, to shun, outcast, and purge them from our midst.
Hello, don't worry too much about what others do, just as long as your own ways pleases the Lord, He makes even your enemies to be at peace with you.
Don't bother about people, just focus on doing good... You could pray for God to change them to be better people, read Gal 6:9-11, 1 pet 3:17-18.
Love thy neighbor as thyself. ““So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, as it sums up the Law and the Prophets.“ I feel this is better said than the golden rule. And rebukes most of the confusion.

a very fresh take on the sermon of the mount. These verses have become so modernized for me that ive forgotten that, when put in the context of Jesus' time (like the cloak and shirt) shows a radical way to love our enemies, by exposing their evil with generosity. How radical

I can choose not to hate my enemies and treat them with respect. However, if the enemy hates me so much, then it is hard for me love that enemy since I am more focused on my own survival than my enemy's well-being. This happened to me at a previous workplace. In the end, my survival, reputation, and career remain intact while she got fired for her unethical and rule-breaking action. I was her whistleblower. In addition, she lies so often, that it is hard to reconcile in our conflict. Loving our enemies is not possible for every situation, but I can refuse to hate them.

Consider that God reconciled us to Himself through the blood of Christ. He forgave us of our sins, but He also restored us to relationship with Himself. That reconciliation required our repentance. Repentance is the key to any hopes for reconciliation in our estranged relationships today. So it's important to understand that you can forgive someone without resuming contact or picking a relationship back up. You can forgive someone even if you know you can never have the same relationship.
Depending on the circumstances, you may even need to avoid contact.
True …and, with the presence of the Holy Spirit empowering you, you can take up your own identity again as a child of God even after someone has broken you down to subhuman. You can walk in joy, peace and love. You can be empowered to command respect without manipulating other people... because you are secure in your identity as a son/daughter of the Living God!
