In my humble opinion, _Master of Puppets_ is the best overall heavy metal song ever made. 🤘

Metallica. Fade to black. Most beautiful metal ballad ever written in my opinion

Here we go.... This song is about drugs - "chop your breakfast on a mirror", yep. The frenzied part is about being sober and craving a hit, the calm part (guitar solo) is the high... and then it changes back again - vicious circle. The dissonance at the end is the sick feeling and the laughter - joining the denizens of Hell.... Link with Nightwish - Metallica listed by Tuomas, Marko and Emppu as an influence (the Enter Sandman riff in TGSOE!) - A7X too!... Recommend "Fade To Black" and "The Day That Never Comes"... any song, every song really.... Stir up the pot with "Mama Said"?....Lars gets sh!t for his drumming but he's great in this! (Also has same birthday as me!) Metal is Family.

The strings actually leads to/originates from the fingers (of the puppet master) in the top corners and are easily missed because they blend in to the background.

Yes, this is a song about being controlled particularly from drugs. " chop your breakfast on a mirror." Great reaction to an absolute banger, this whole record is a masterpiece. I personally think their first 5 records are masterpieces...you could play all of those from start to finish without wanting to skip any.

E1M1 uses a riff thats in one of their songs No Remorse from their first album Kill em All which came out in 1983 and was one of the first albums that cemented what metal was gonna sound like in the 80s. They along with a few other bands pioneered the sub genre of Thrash Metal in the early 80s. And DOOM was HEAVILY inspired by metal music, soundtrack wise, setting, the logo, etc. The devs took huge inspiration from not only Metallica but from other bands like Slayer and Pantera

Dude there are soooo many great, awesome, unbelievable Metallica songs that you haven't heard yet. They are the biggest metal band in the world. "Welcome Home Sanitarium" is a gem! So many to do it's a neverending list. Also my fave is, well one of my faves is the 4 Horsemen. It's unbelievable!

Album picture basically describes all the songs in one picture. Strings “Master of puppets”, crosses and helmet represent “Disposable Hero’s”, and the sky to me reminds me either “The Thing that should not be”, “Orion”, or possibly “Sanitarium.”
    Try Disposable hero’s next

Also, DOOM copied lots of metal songs for the game including this song so you're 100% correct. They borrowed riffs from Metallica, Pantera and Alice in Chains throughout the game. And the stings you see on the album cover are actually being held by two hands behind the Metallica logo

Great reaction. Metallica also influenced Nightwish, but you probably already guessed that. I love Metallica, but for me, the newer stuff is not my cup of tea. I don't listen to anything after their black album, with the exception of King Nothing and Fuel, both from their Load album, which I think are great songs. Anyway, I like their early stuff more, but that's personal. Try it all out and find out what you like. I could recommend just about anything from their first four albums, but One is abolutely one to listen to. Also their instrumentals Orion and Call Of Cthulu are increddible, and for the best song intro ever, listen to For Whom The Bell Tolls. Last suggestion is Creeping Death, which is just a kickass song and a personal favourite. Have fun!

It's just laughable on RUclips. Every day at least 100 new testers who have never heard of Master of Puppets and are listening to it for the very first time. Who do you want to tell that?
By the way, this also applies to all other hits that every child knows, except for the testers here.
I stop now, otherwise I'll pee my pants laughing.

😂😂😂 that's a tad judgemental pal, you don't even know me, I grew up listening to oasis then linkin park, Metallica barely crossed my path..
In the 80's I was building ramps for my bike, making bases in the woods etc, playing out with friends, there was no sky TV or mainstream music channel so excuse me for not hearing a song because I was a child doing things that children did.
Soooooooo before you start with your sarcasm... I suggest you save your comments until you've actually spoken to a reactor
Have you heard every single oasis song? One of the biggest bands of a generation? Probably not, hey but it's ok because according to you EVERYBODY has heard all of Metallica's popular songs!
I think you should leave judgment to a real god and not your metal equivalent!
