I am a Australian and a massive Sabaton fan, this is one of my favourite songs they sing. Massive Tommy Johansson fan. I’ve never seen your channel before ❤️🔥🤘🎸🇸🇪
They write songs about historic events. They also have a separate channel “Sabaton History” where they talk about the events/persons that inspired the songs.
Sabaton sings about war related history. En livstid i krig (a lifetime of war) is about a Swedish soldier in the 30 years war. The lyrics for the English version takes a broader picture of the conflict. This song is from the Carolus Rex album which was released in both Swedish and English. That album is about the rise and fall of the Swedish empire.
I don't even like metal, but still fell into the Sabaton rabbit hole because I'm interested in history. Sabaton is really a special rabbit hole because of the storytelling and movie-like music videos. Check, for example, their cover of mötorhead's "1916" (about the Battle of the Somme) or the animated story version of "no bullets fly" to name a few songs that touch your countrymen.
About time you divei nto the wonderful world of one of my favourite bands! Seen them live nine times and counting! They write about military history specifically. And with Sabaton you never have to worry about getting copyright strikes on a reaction video, they have fully embraced the reaction community!
Sabaton is a great band! I saw you reacted to Nightwish (also a great band) the same day. Fun fact, the drummer in Sabaton is married to the singer in Nightwish. I liked your reaction, please do more of this kind of stuff 👍
This swedish girl just LOVE Sabaton. This band has their own history channel here on RUclips as well so go and check that out. They did a great cover some time back on the Motörhead song 1916
They have a unique way of honoring the soldiers who fought and died without honoring the conflicts they fought in or the regimes they fought for. It’s a balance they do very well.
Sabaton is a deep rabbithole filled with awesome music. I see comments before me have explained what they are about, so I won't dig into that. More Sabaton please, Im convinced this album especially the Swedish version is one of the greatest albums of all time spanning any genre, the lyrics are so deep, the music so epic, and the fact that its all based on real life events and not fantasy makes it hit so much harder. Sabaton is an amazing band to see live, they have such a fun and lively energy on stage and the crowd goes absolutely wild
Sabaton are certainly worth checking out live. In October of 2022 I saw them on back to back nights in Nashville and Atlanta. It was very much worth all of the driving. The opening band for those shows was Epica (another symphonic metal band with a female soprano lead, but with harsh male vocals as well) who are also worth checking into.
to add to the context of the crowd taking over the concert. Sabaton was performing in Gothenburg, Sweden, the home turf of Sabaton. if you look you can see Joakim (the lead singer) just fall quiet not knowing what to do and Thomas (one of the guitarists) having his mind blown

I'm the Sabaton's fan :-) They are very clever "bards". They sing about the historic events from many countries and that's why they are loved all over the world but Europe mainly because of ww1 & ww2. They have songs with the Polish history which we are proud of (no actually such songs of our bands) and the fanbase of Sabaton is very strong here. 🙂
To think that Joakim joined first joined Sabaton as a keyboard player..then the band found themselves lacking a singer, he stepped up to fill the spot and to this day he says he is no professional singer. Just blows my mind. Fantastic reaction vid, I thoroughly enjoyed this. How many of the Sabaton Army in the comments?
Metal has a tendency to be tragic, sad, deep and personal lyric wise, but at the same time it’s like a relief of emotion to just be able to scream all of it together and know ur not alone. The metal community is extremely supportive and accepting of everyone even remotely interested in it, if u meet a true metal head and tell them like “hey I wanna go to a metal concert or a festival” they will most definitely just bring u along, make sure ur having a good time, show u around and tell u anything u wanna know. Good festivals with a LOT of huge bands are, Sweden Rock, Download Festival, Hellfest, Bloodstock open air and more.

Sabaton sing about real history events. This song is about the 30 year war betwen Sweden Russia and some part of Germany from a Swedish solders veiw. And its in a inndoor stadium call Scandinavium
The band and song is already explained so I’m just gonna add… The war they sing about is the same war that made the Swedes build the Vasa ship you just reacted to. Fun and happy coincident! 😊 Ps I’m not a metal fan but Living in Sweden (and Finland too ofc) metal is huge and I work with at least 3 metal heads so I’ve heard a few songs for sure. I love that their lyrics are portaying the war from the grassroot's point of view. What the common man, being drafted, is to endure. Same today. The only exception is our beloved king Karl XII, who lived among his men and shared the same conditions. That is why he is the most beloved king in our history.

I hope you decide to check out more Sabaton because they are absolutely fantastic. Rather than take sides, they sing about history and tell stories based on different perspectives during times of war. It's basically a history lesson in the form of music.
Sabaton sing about real history events. This song is about the 30 year war betwen Sweden Russia and some part of Germany from a Swedish solders veiw. And its in a inndoor stadium call Scandinavium
Well, not Russia. Sweden against Poland and about the rest of continental Europe...
But unusually enough not Denmark and Russia.
The song is about the 30 year war when Sweden had to defend the german protestant against the catholic oppression
The band and song is already explained so I’m just gonna add… The war they sing about is the same war that made the Swedes build the Vasa ship you just reacted to. Fun and happy coincident! 😊
Ps I’m not a metal fan but Living in Sweden (and Finland too ofc) metal is huge and I work with at least 3 metal heads so I’ve heard a few songs for sure. From what little I know I can say I think Sabaton is an amazing band.
They also have songs about Finland wars/War heroes🇫🇮 (Talvisota, Soldier of 3 armies, White Death)
Welcome to the Sabaton rabbit-hole, this is a Sabaton reaction channel now...
this is just the best ever!!
Fun Fact: The drummer, Hannes Van Dahl, is actually the husband of Nightwish lead singer, Floor Jansen, whom you reacted to in the previous video. :)
If you’re looking for a Swedish banger to react to performed by our Swedish Queen Zara Larsson you should check out “Ain’t My Fault” it’s a banger for sure!! Link to the video here: ruclips.net/video/eC-F_VZ2T1c/видео.htmlfeature=shared
we love them !!
I Whold recommend all Sabaton animated versions to watch they tell more of the story of the song.
You should absolutely react to Tommy Johansson (the one doing the guitar solo) He has his own You Tube channel and is an awesome musician with one of the best voices in the world.
It is never too late to become a metalhead.
in Poland festival Joachim said that the number of the public ( 560k) will make them the second biggest city in Sweden
check they're history channel
You're epic, my friend. That enthusiasm... ;))
They sing about the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) .. Where Sweden became a great power
2 other really good songs of Sabaton is "1916" and "No Bullets Fly".
I think you would like 1916 cause is about Brittish WW1 history.
I love that their lyrics are portaying the war from the grassroot's point of view. What the common man, being drafted, is to endure. Same today.
The only exception is our beloved king Karl XII, who lived among his men and shared the same conditions. That is why he is the most beloved king in our history.
Sabaton fan for 20 years here... with many other bands I have songs, I really don't like.. sure, I do have songs, I love more than others from Sabaton.. but songs I realyl don't like at all? Not so far... keep going down that HUGE rabbithole and if I may suggest, check out the Sabaton history channel, too, if you want to know more about the background of the songs, in a fun and interesting way. Greetings from Germany, keep on rocking!
Now you have listening to Sabaton. Now you must listening to Our Tommy Johansson who was a guitarist in that band. He does very, very good covers. He makes them metal like ABBAs "The winner takes it all". Its a must! 😊
I love Sabaton, my favourite song is “The Last Stand”.🇸🇪🇸🇪
awesome, this is what I've been waiting for 🤘🤘🤘
I can honestly recommend a Sabaton concert, they are quite good, iirc their highest audience number was in the 500 000 range
Epic band, epic song, epic reaction!! Thank you!!
You shoud react to Christmas Truce (Sabaton). Great song and a fantastic video.
No Bullets Fly. If you don't get chills out of that...
Or basically any Sabaton track really.
En Livstid I Krig = A Lifetime In War.
There is a English version of this song too called A Lifetime Of War.
No bullets fly and Christmas truce might be a good choice to follow this up.Great reaction brother ❤
Wow, that's a powerful crowd, I wan't be there 🤩
Totally epic. Price of a mile. One most sad songs ever but yes it's about war.
U should watch Woodstock 40:1
