in this video, I’m exploring Vietnam. Right as I entered the Ben Thanh Market, I encountered one of those shoe shine scammers claiming I had glue on my shoes. Knowing the trick, I just kept walking. Inside the market, I started searching for a cap, preferably with a Vietnam flag. After some back and forth haggling, I scored it for a much lower price than originally quoted.
Next, I looked for a T-shirt but had a tough time as most vendors were pretty rude. Finally, I found one I liked and bought it. On my way out, a guy offered me a one-hour city tour of Ho Chi Minh for 250,000 Dong. I haggled him down to 150,000 Dong, and we were off. The guide was hilarious and explained various sites to me.
After the tour, another guy I had talked to earlier was mad because I had mixed them up. I quickly paid my guide and made a swift exit. Wandering the streets of Ho Chi Minh, I ran into more scammers saying ‘glue glue’. I saw through their tricks and had a good laugh at their expense. Beware though, these scammers might actually put glue on your shoes if you're not watching!"

The purpose of traveling abroad is to spend money. Besides, it is not always that the local residents are trying to make money or are dishonest people who want to cheat tourists. As long as the price is not too high, just buy their goods! And if you are sweating all over and the goods of the vendors are dirty, if I am a local and see you come to shop, I will definitely not do business with you, because you should negotiate the price before trying on the hats and clothes.
The purpose of traveling is not to give all of your money away to some venders but I do believe the locals in most of those countries truly believe that.
I live in Hochiminh City. Don't go to Ben Thanh market. You will be scammed 100% no matter what and the qualities of products are shit. It is a tourist trap.
Yeah, I’d been living in Hochiminh City for 31 years and I’d never shopped at Ben Thanh market, it’s a horrible place for shopping.

As a Vietnam I can tell you that 😅.
1 the sale people here just know simple and basic words, so they ll speak in short sentences and use hand gestures to express what they want to say, which may seem rude😅😅
2, when you raise your voice she thinks you are angry and command her so she uses her hand mean calm down.
3, not only you or other foreigners, as a Vietnam when buying things we try to avoid comparing price between shops in front of the salers (especially nearly shops 😅) because we know that we ll reiceive back "why dont you buy there" with angry tone. Your dialogue come to bad ending, im so sorry for that 😂
4, bargaining is a skill buying things in VN, hahah, even for locals. Usually we walk away after lower price to 100k vnd and salers didnt agree, then they ll call you back and the deal set😊, thats normal for us too.
Ps: for the location you point out in the video, the driver said its too far (70km) to drive there by bycicle, it takes him 1 day to go there
