Love your bargaining videos, I watched a bunch of them prior to my Vietnam trip and I had tons of fun bargaining in Da Nang. As for that dude who tried to scam you, I would have taken back all my money the second I realized he tried to pull that off. No business or respect for those trying to scam foreigners.

As Vietnamese I rarely go out on street market to buy clothes and stuff, the bargaining is too stressful and tiring, I always buy sh*t online for dirt-cheap price, though you settled for a fairly good price but these actually costs only half what you already paid,

All that stuff you bought was very expensive/ overpaid / overpriced - but I found this with Vietnam they start so ridiculously high that you end up thinking you got a good deal because you got them down so much when actually it's probably still slightly over what you could of paid. I really enjoyed the bartering in Vietnam though

You're extremely clueless and do not have any sense of reality or how the world works if you think paying 100,000 dong ($4.26USD) for a t-shirt is "overpaying". Go educate yourself more and learn how much it takes to run a shop because selling shirts for $4 definitely will put you put you out of business within a year. That's so far from overpaying, in fact I'd say she barely made 5% profit margin on those and was ready to sell it at wholesaler purchase price.

Nice to see Vietnam up and running again! Never a dull moment at Ben Thanh but the extreme heat and fishy smell can be a bit much at times, not to mention the hardcore bargaining with the vendors. Saigon Square is a better shopping experience but Ben Thanh is probably better for content lol.

I’ve been watching a lot of Vietnam travel vlogs this is the first I’ve heard of that bill scam I honestly didn’t think the people over there were like that, good to see there is a few bad apples to watch out for !

Most of these board sellers (street sellers w/ a board) are very very poor, honest and lovely country people. The ones in District 1 are used to less informed tourists, so they make good money. And some are hustlers. Yes, he would NOT have made that kind of mistake other than trying to get more money from you. Vietnamese people go by the colors and size of the bills (American notes are one size and we tell by the number on the notes). Initially, there were some confusion between the 10,000 and 200,000 because of the color and about the same size so they look at the numbers. I avoided the 200,000 altogether

I spent 30 minutes haggling with her in November and she started off with a fair price and i got her down to 800k for Onitsuka tigers lol i bought 3 pairs of sneakers from Bangkok that same week so i could only get those from her or i would have got more.

Love watching your videos, my wife HATES haggling, but I love trying it. My problem is getting anything in my size, especially shoes/trainers/sneakers. Went to Egypt many years ago and by the time I had been into 2/3 shops, every seller knew me and stopped asking me into their shops cos they all knew they wouldn't have my size!!
