When I was a kid I used to listen to this all the time, I remember wishing my father would come back, he never wanted anything to do with me though. I reconnected with him when I was 16, he still didn't really want anything to do with me. My step-dad was the only real father figure in my life, he unfortunately passed away October 6th 2021, he didn't even live to see my 17th birthday. Now Instead of wishing my father would come back, I wish my Dad would come back, even though I wasn't his he still treated me as if I were.

I know people hate on nickelback.. but I don't care. This is an amazing song that incorporates originality while conveying a powerful message. good job nickelback
The older one gets, the deeper the song sinks in. “you weren’t there, right when I needed you the most” “now I dream about it” “it’s too bad it’s too late, so long” “it’s too be we had no time to rewind” you can also tell how deeply this song effects Chad by his facial expressions 1:57 & tones of voice. Even though I’ve met my own father later in life it’s still too bad it’s too late, we’ll never have what chad sings about either, although we now talk, nothing can or will rewind the time.
Fuck yeah, they are very amazing. Their lyrics have so much meaning! I've loved Nickelback ever since they first came out. I just don't see how people don't like them.

It's not cool to hate someone or something because someone else does. 99% Of the haters barely even know what Nickelback is and lack a reason for hating them.
It hits home for me. I have pictures of me and my father where he looked normal and like he loved me, but he was also an addict of meth. I was 4 years old, and now I'm 33. It's too bad, but there is many others that have had it worse than me and I pray for them to someday be healed
They definitely were good for their first 3 records I’d say. Kroeger’s vocals weren’t as growly and grating as they got in later years, and they could even be pretty savage at times. Honestly not counting the Foo Fighters I think this is as close as post grunge got to being genuinely good. Also agree this is their best lyrically

Lyrics
Father's hands are lined with dirt
From long days in the field
Mother's hands are serving meals
In a cafe on Main Street
With mouths to feed
Just trying to keep clothing on our backs
And all I hear about
Is how it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
Let's talk
You left without saying goodbye
Although I'm sure you tried
You'd call the house from time to time
To make sure we're alive
But you weren't there
Right when I needed you the most
And now I dream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
It's too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
(Let's talk)
Father's hands are lined with guilt
For tearing us apart
Guess it turned out in the end
Just look at where we are
We made it out
We still got clothing on our backs
And now I scream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
It's too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
No time
Let's walk

@Mitch Rynn for me "All right reason" and "Dark Horse" they are also decent albums...
Love the voice 😍😍
The first 3 albums were the best for me. I met the band in 2002 on the Silverside Up tour. Amazing experience.
The early stuff was good not a fan of the latter stuff post 2006
I absoultly love how you can see the pain in his eyes and how close home this song hits with Chad...
The only person who could ever break my heart besides my mother was my father. I love my parents. Divorce is ~HELL~ on kids folks. Get your shit together before you trap your family in an impossible situation.
Anybody listen this unique song in 2018 ?

This song embodies a lot of my memories I wish I could go back
This song reminds me of my mother. Sadly time hasn't softened her ways there is no guilt lining her hands.
