I have immense affection for Nickelback, they are one of the most UNJUSTICED bands in the world! They have great songs and incredible energy, they marked my childhood and that of several people.
I haven't seen my dad in 20+ years Christmas Eve. I used to hate him but I've learned to dislike him. I don't know if I could ever forgive him, confront him or even attend his funeral when the times comes. I did what I could as a kid to keep the relationship but his selfish off and on abandonment, lies and false truths became too much and didn't want to put myself through it anymore and told him to his face that Christmas Eve. This song has hit home for me for so many years and in 2023 it still does.

Criminally underrated song; quite possibly the best track off this record! A big shoutout to Rick Parashar who did an incredible job on the production of this album and on many other similar sounding ones of this era. RIP, you are sorely missed.
You brought up an amazing memory. Rick was behind so many albums of several of my favorite bands: Alice in Chains, Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam, Unwritten Law, etc.
18 years after hearing still get goose bumps. I didn't meet my dad until i was 5 yrs. and it's not gotten any better. Finally understanding why I date unavailable people. Because everyone close to me Is unavailable. I'm so thankful for understanding. I'm going to keep molding myself with love and patience. I'm going to do my best to break the bad generational qualities of my family, with myself.
This is the exact reason I relate to the song. I met my dad at 15, the day after I packed my bags and left my mother and only 2 hours after seeing a picture of him for the first time. I expected an angelic chorus and a beam of light to shine when I met him. Instead I got a handshake and a very joskin (North Walian) "alright??". Hoping for the best with him, always wanted a relationship with my dad, but never getting anywhere. In the 9 years since he has spent a total of 6 hours with me. This song has helped teach me that sometimes the things that are meant to mean the most, the things that are supposed to be a mainstay in your life and guide you are sometimes an illusion. Not everyone has the same life, the same family unit, the same support, but everybody has themselves. Take comfort and solace in the fact that where others may fail you, you can strengthen and learn to better help support yourself and, in turn, those that may rely on you. Stay strong, Aubrey, it's never too late to save your relationship with yourself, even if others have faltered in theirs with you. ❤
Seriously..I don't know anyone who doesn't have immense respect for Nickleback! They've produced so many powerful songs, this one included. My personal fave is "If today was your last day". Freakin' Awesome song!
September 11, 2001 has had an incredible impact on my life. I remember thinking that day that it was going to be something I would never forget. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t think about it. It was the day Nickelback’s album Silver Side Up was released. I went to Walmart to buy it. The cashier was crying. She must have already listened to it and was affected by some of the more emotional songs. On the way home I popped it into my CD player. I was blown away by it from the very first moment. I tried to stop at a gas station, but for some reason they were all crowded. I guess it was all the people going out to buy the new album. When I got home my parents asked me if I had heard the news. I told them I already knew about the new Nickelback album. I went to my room to listen to it. Every song was amazing and the track layout was perfect. The cover art was awesome. Chad Kroeger and the other guys looked like the epitome of rockstars. It was an incredible work of genius and I could understand why the cashier was so emotional. I had loved Curb and The State, but this was something completely new and different from my favorite band. My parents were watching the news really loud so I had to turn it up to drown that out. I played it on repeat over and over until I fell asleep. It was one of the most memorable days of my life. I can’t even begin to imagine what my life would be like without Silver Side Up.
Dude how can you be so close minded thats when 9-11 happened. Even the Walmart I walked in had the televisons on to it by the cash registers. How could not know?
2021, all the lyrics reminds me of my current youth age and the mistakes I've took, and the depression I have been in along, it's helpful for always to look back in time with Nickelback and remind yourself about who you really are.
Just scary similar to my past, been listening to this since I was young. sends shivers down my spine I listen to it, end up usually scream crying these lyrics out loud to nobody.
It’s about how his father wasn’t in his and his siblings life and their still doin just fine without him. It’s definitely an emotional song but I love it and it won’t ever get old.
Algunas canciones de Nickelback muestran conflictos familiares. Huir de los problemas no los resuelve, solo los hace más grandes y en algunos casos los hijos heredan esa conducta...

Now as an older man I take care of my Mother, my two sisters would not, but I know that no matter what she went through she is still my mother and I will always be here for her. No matter how much she is lined with guilt
I think songs like this and Leader of Men resonate with folks more than other Nickelback songs because they’re interesting musically AND have heart lyrically. I am 31 halfway to 32 from Beaver Springs Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇸 and out of all of the songs of this legendary band from Canada the one i can relate to is this one spot on, the haters can run their mouths about these brothers next door all they want. Their words mean nothing, I'm humbled and honored to have grown up listening to these guys they had gotten me through some of the darkest times throughout my 31 years so thank you my Canadian brothers for all that. It was so cool to have met you guys in State College and thank you for the autograph Chad and his brother Mike, much love y'all!
Incredible song, this illustrates the difficult lives people live and problems they deal with on a daily basis and the pain of a father leaving a son which is a terrible thing, I see myself as the kid, angry confused and frustrated with the way things are in his life and things that he's been through, Nickleback's music got me through a hard lonely time for me when I first started high school at a new school, love this song love Nickleback thanks for this awesome music guys
Ed. Dad. I understand what you did. And why you did. Doesn't mean it doesn't still suck and this song weirdly hit home 19 years later now that I'm 30, but I'm sorry for my grudge.
I was around 11 or 12 when this song came out. The situations I was in made me feel this song on a deep level, back then. Now I listen to this song and thank God for how my life has turned out 🙏 20 years later and I have a deep appreciation for this song. This one and others like it from that Era got me through some dark times and traumatic events during that point in my life. I know I'm not the only one ✌

@@phlhoran12396 me too how you remind me is the song that introduced me to Nickelback & I was lucky enough to see this band in concert back in 2001 and now I have all their albums they are one of my favourite bands of all time
People say what they want about this band but it this point I can really relate to songs like this one, my dad just passed away this morning around 7am and I woke to a txt letting me know that, at the sane time my brother who loved this band and show me this song saying it's how he felt about our dad passed away last year on april fool's day, so today I thought why not listening to a song that reminds me of both of them how broken things were and all we ever wanted was to make things right with each other.
It seems to be popular (or it was) to hate Nickelback, but I always liked their music, particularly this song. The message is powerful and the music is fantastic. If someone genuinely doesn't like their music, that's their prerogative, but to dislike anything because it's "trendy" to do so is beyond ignorant.
This song is f***ing 🔥 Chad kruger is up there with the best when it comes to rock vocals the man is awesome 👌 hope nickleback come out with new soon 🙌

I'm singing this in the shower yesterday and my wife goes "what is that?" I said Too Bad by Nickelback, only one of the best songs ever. Confession: I still have Nickelback CD's in my cars and play them regularly.
Father's hands are lined with dirt From long days in the field Mother's hands are serving meals In a cafe on Main Street With mouths to feed Just trying to keep clothing on our backs And all I hear about Is how it's so bad, it's so bad It's too bad it's too bad Too late, so wrong, so long It's too bad we had no time to rewind Let's walk, let's talk Let's talk You left without saying goodbye Although I'm sure you tried You'd call the house from time to time To make sure we're alive But you weren't there Right when I needed you the most And now I dream about it And how it's so bad, it's so bad It's too bad it's too bad Too late, so wrong, so long It's too bad we had no time to rewind Let's walk, let's talk It's so bad It's too bad it's too bad It's too late, so wrong, so long It's too bad we had no time to rewind Let's walk, let's talk (Let's talk) Father's hands are lined with guilt For tearing us apart Guess it turned out in the end Just look at where we are We made it out We still got clothing on our backs And now I scream about it And how it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad It's too bad it's too bad Too late, so wrong, so long It's too bad we had no time to rewind Let's walk, let's talk It's so bad It's too bad it's too bad It's too late, so wrong, so long It's too bad we had no time to rewind Let's walk, let's talk No time Let's walk Let's talk

This whole album rocks. I think it's his best
Old song, but so so good...
This song came on the radio the other day and all I kept thinking was... HOW DARE THEY SAY NICKELBACK SUCKED. They're so good. 😂😂😂❤
I love this it's one of the best ones 😍
Incredible song, this illustrates the difficult lives people live and problems they deal with on a daily basis and the pain of a father leaving a son which is a terrible thing, I see myself as the kid, angry confused and frustrated with the way things are in his life and things that he's been through, Nickleback's music got me through a hard lonely time for me when I first started high school at a new school, love this song love Nickleback thanks for this awesome music guys
Sou brasileiro e sempre procuro por suas músicas em momentos de profunda angústia, e sempre choro quando ouço essa. Tudo isso é tão ruim
I love this type of videos, the ones that had an actual story behind that leaves a message and it’s not all superficial ridiculous nonsense
one of my favorite songs by them
From a broken family in Appalachian VA. This song always makes me bawl like a baby. Welcome home.
.
Aquela música que nunca paramos de ouvir.... Amo muito! ♥
verdade, curto muito até hoje.
Nickelback has got to be one of my favorite bands of all time.
this song tears open so many scars but I keep coming back 💔
Ed. Dad. I understand what you did. And why you did. Doesn't mean it doesn't still suck and this song weirdly hit home 19 years later now that I'm 30, but I'm sorry for my grudge.
the fragile human spirit. The archetypal story. It resonates with us. That is why this song is a classic.
My favorite band hands down! End of this video always shakes me when he walks in and sees his dad. Everyone in this world fails, and it’s not how you fail it’s how you redeem yourself.
Still rocking to this in 2024
Under appreciated song of them💯🔥
Silver side up is one of my favorite albums of Nickelback
The first one that introduced me to the band.
@@phlhoran12396 me too how you remind me is the song that introduced me to Nickelback & I was lucky enough to see this band in concert back in 2001 and now I have all their albums they are one of my favourite bands of all time
I don't understand the hate for this band, they are one of the best bands of the 2000s
This one still hits hard and deep...
I honestly don’t know where all the hate comes from… Especially the older Nickelback albums are aboutely lit 🔥
Such an underrated song!
One of my FAVE songs boys!!!!!! 🤙🤙🤙
Meu marido gravou um cd pra mim que tinha essa música quando a gente tinha 16 aninhos lá em 2005😍😍😍😍 nostalgia demais
Yea boy nickelback has a special place in my soul 😊
Nickelback is one of my favorite of all time ✌🤟🤘
High five to that buddy.
How You Remind Me, Savin' Me, Far Away, Someday, Photograph, Too Bad, and Gotta Be Somebody are the best songs from Nickelback.
Always one of my favorite nickelback songs along with :savin' me, far away, and hero
this song is totaly underrated
Nickel back never fails to lay down some heavy rock🤞🏻
A lot people say their music is the same, btw I love nickelback and chads voice
Me to
It is, but if you (and I) like the style, that is fine. Maybe they're an acquired taste to some.
This song is f***ing 🔥 Chad kruger is up there with the best when it comes to rock vocals the man is awesome 👌 hope nickleback come out with new soon 🙌
when nickelback was still good. Great album
For real
They are still good

Check out "Feed the Machine." It's a return to form, if not heavier.
Have you heard Song On Fire?
i miss this era.

And time flies in! 20 years today 11/09/2021 . From the release of this great Nickelback masterpiece SILVER SIDE UP on 09/11/01 👏👏👏👍💪💪🇧🇷🇧🇷🇨🇦🇨🇦🎸🎸🎤🎤
Old school nickalback...the best 🤘🤘
Man i remember when i was like 15 years old and this song just came out, i had it on my mp3 player and listening to it during my morning newspaper round, good old times, getting goosebumpes from chad kroegers guitar solo
Ah these were the days. Late 90's / early 2000's when post grunge was at it's finest :)
Now its all shitty music.. miss the old grunge days..
Adam Rotter too right!
Adam Rotter LOL that's what we hippies said when we heard your grunge. Welcome to adulthood
FUCKING AWESOME
Lewis Sanderson I think Nickelback was better early on before the party songs. But they still kick ass live!
I'm singing this in the shower yesterday and my wife goes "what is that?" I said Too Bad by Nickelback, only one of the best songs ever. Confession: I still have Nickelback CD's in my cars and play them regularly.
nickleback is my pleasure
This video definitely tells a story
This song hits hard right now, RIP Dad
Right there with you, stay strong man
The best of the best
Eu sou fã dessa banda de rock Nickelback 🇨🇦😂👏👏👏👏🤘⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😘
As long as I'm breathing, I'll be listening to this great band
This song is depressing. Reminds me of my dad except he didn't say goodbye to my family and came back 6 months later
Pokemon 132: ditto.
The album this song came off of was GREAT. I miss that time in music so much.
One of best bands ever, saw then live back in day. Chad a true Rockstar, has that presence
Father's hands are lined with dirt
From long days in the field
Mother's hands are serving meals
In a cafe on Main Street
With mouths to feed
Just trying to keep clothing on our backs
And all I hear about
Is how it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
Let's talk
You left without saying goodbye
Although I'm sure you tried
You'd call the house from time to time
To make sure we're alive
But you weren't there
Right when I needed you the most
And now I dream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
It's too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
(Let's talk)
Father's hands are lined with guilt
For tearing us apart
Guess it turned out in the end
Just look at where we are
We made it out
We still got clothing on our backs
And now I scream about it
And how it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad, it's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
Too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
It's so bad
It's too bad it's too bad
It's too late, so wrong, so long
It's too bad we had no time to rewind
Let's walk, let's talk
No time
Let's walk
Let's talk
