On the Tab A7 , Go in Developer Mode and activate "Force Allow Apps on External" then you can move apps on the SD card. Used to have a LG tablet that didn't allow me to move apps until I switched on that feature. Hopefully this works!
This function is confirmed to not work on the A7. Its intentional by Samsung and for no good reason other then to have you buy a new low end tablet sooner, since the old versions lasted too long with users.

Concerning IPS, Samsung avoids using the name since it’s proprietary to LG (few people actually know this...), in order to avoid paying licensing, but their display are indeed equivalent to IPS

Furthermore, TFT is short for thin-film transistor and tells you exactly nothing about the display type. I know that Samsung themselves calls them "TFT displays" on their website, and that's pretty stupid. Even AMOLED displays use TFTs and therefore technically are "TFT displays". Some people might think that a TFT display is the same as a TN (twisted nematic) type LCD, but that's incorrect. These tablets definitely don't use TN panels. TN type LCDs are pretty easy to identify, because they have relatively bad viewing angles and turn dark when viewed from one particular direction (usually from the bottom).
@@amarokorama Exactly. I bought a good latop with an absolutely shitty TFT display. The angles are so bad you can barely see things. First thing I noticed when picked this tablet was: how the heck is this TFT? I also googled and got it clear: This is not cheap TFT TN. It’s basically an IPS with good viewing angles.
Great comparison. I have got an S6 Lite instead of A7 mainly because of Samsung announcement to support 3 android OS upgrades for the S- tablets. That made the definitive argument to choose.
Should have gotten the tab s5e instead, it's better in every single way except it doesn't have a pen. I find pens useless anyway and it's annoying having them on the back

Picked up 64gb version of A7 and perfectly happy with it as general media consumption device. It has plenty of performance and screen is decent enough. I don't game on it nor find S pen useful so didn't see the need to go for S6 lite.
I was about to acquire an A7, had ordered it on Amazon actually, but cancelled it when I read a review that stated it doesn't have a headphone/audio jack...Is this true? My primary purpose for a tablet is a) wordprocessing b) listening to music via an external headphone and also, use it as a music source for my Onkyo receiver+JVC floor standing speakers...

Love your videos. You're a great reviewer. I've been a Samsung tablet user for a very long time and a lot of apps can't be transferred over to a MicroSD card. I mainly use tablets to copy and paste notes on my note taking app and I bookmark websites on my home screen. I watch RUclips videos and RUclips movies. Loved the review. One note. IPS is a TFT screen. What you were concerned is probably TN or TN + Film screen. That one has terrible viewing angles and invert colors when you turn it vertically. Both of them are TFT, so Samsung did not lie. I am pretty sure today they never use TN screens in their products, so it is safe to say that if it is not amoled, then it is IPS
Idk why I am watching these after buying the tab S7. Probably cause of the recommended algorithm and your Air 4 and S7 video helped me finalize my decision. I was able to snag one before the scalpers ruined Samsung student week. Got it for $308.12 with my $200 chase cash back. As a student and learning to draw it seems like a good buy. One not for future videos I got small hands and when I compared the tablet to your video I was like oh his hands are way bigger than mine and thats why it seems so heavy and huge lol. It's just a matter of where you will use it. I selected the A7 because I have a Note10 Lite already. Most of my productivity is done on my phone, then most of my entertainment is on my tablet. Im really loving it. :)
So I decided to exchange my a7 for the s6 lite. Very happy with the upgrade. One thing I have notice and researched about, is that when using a book case and has any kind of magnetic components to it it can affect the s pen. Where it will miss areas on the tablet when writing. I thought there was a defect to my first s6 so I went to exchange it. Then I wrote on the new one and everything was fine till I put it in a case which I bought on Amazon. So i think if your not using the Samsung case it may happen. Or buy single back cover up to you. Just want to advice people before they think they have a defective s6 lite tablet.
Great video comparison, exactly what I was looking for! A7 seems like a great budget option for budget friendly students, I can see someone hooking up an external keyboard to get papers done away from a computer or check emails/stream. I still have my Tab S5e and I don't miss not having the S pen- there are cheaper alternatives that work well. I primarily use mine for gaming/ streaming and I love it. Looking to get a tablet for my dad, I am leaning towards the Tab S6 Lite even though I don't see him using the S pen. He barely uses the stylus on with Note 10 😂
Very good review. I got all the information that I actually needed! That being said - the only thing kept annoying me were you hands that kept waving side to side - it was quite... distracting. Perhaps raising the camera just a little so your hands don't come on focus too much?
Hey! I have an idea. Your videos are amazing. You always go to the full extent and the videos have alot of quality. But the one thing that attracts people to a video is the thumbnails. I really think improving how the thumbnail looks will give random people scrolling an idea about the quality of your videos
Glad I found your video! Leaning towards the A7 since it is cheaper and mainly gonna use it for Zoom lectures on the go (got a online class in between two in person classes). S6 Lite was up there but only if I used it as my main device since I still take notes on paper.

I have the S7 and bought the A7 as a gift. Both are great tablets and great value for the price. The A7 surprised me and the S7 is on another league! The best of the best out there.
From a google search, I found this for the A7. I feel you should make a video trying this as it's a big deal with the A7 (edit some said that didn't work so you might try it) "if you open "Settings", scroll down to "Apps", tap the app you'd like to move, then under the specific app options tap "Storage" and under "Storage used" tap "change" , it gives you the option to move the app to an SD card if you have one installed. There are exceptions. If the app is preloaded or somehow registered to your Google or Samsung account , they don't allow you to move most of those apps. It's hit and miss but you can move some and of course it's a pain to move every app individually. You can also go into "Settings" and "Storage" and select your SD card and tap the hamburger menu, and select "Settings" and "Format as internal", then "Erase and Format". your SD card will then be read as internal storage"

I have the regular tab s6 and picked up the tab a7 today for the kids for Xmas and I'm really impressed with it it's very similar to my tablet at a fraction of the cost the speakers are loud and the screen is bright and clear its not going to be great at multitasking as the RAM is significantly less but the apps I've tried run smoothly i think they will be very happy with it I wish I'd known about the expandable storage though as I got the 32 gig thinking I'd be able to upgrade it with an SD card like you can with other Samsung devices.
I bought a samsung tab s6 lite and its nice and big battery i can use the s pen for my note taking and as a 11th grade i will highly recommend this tablet🥰

I personally haven't heard anything, but it is very possible. Although, to be honest Samsung has been so all over the place with the phone releases and options, that I am looking forward to what they are going to do next year with the tablets in terms of names, category, etc
The A7 will work with a third party capacitive pen, but NOT a Samsung S pen. If you absolutely need a pen that will be accurate, you will have to go for the S6 Lite. Otherwise, you can check out Amazon for some capacitive pens
Fantastic video, exactly answered the questions I had for these tabs that I haven't seen in any other review. The parts about not being able to fully utilise an SD card or total lack of S pen support in the A7 was enough to swing it the way of the S6 lite. The question now is, new S6 Lite or used S6?
Love your reviews dude... as for Samsung and moving apps it's pretty common as they try to get people to buy bigger RAM models.... you always mention RAM size but would be nice to know available usable RAM.... keep going dude love your work
I'm watching this a day later from ordering the A7 on amazon. Well that moving app to sd card issue paled my excitement of getting it delivered ngl but you do have good things to say about it and I'm sure it won't let me down! The S6 Lite sure is a better option amongst the two with the pen but it was almost twice (around 80% more) the price of A7 here. I already have a stylus so I hope it will give me a good experience as even with the S pen there is bound to be a noticeable lag. I aimed the tab to be esp for my udemy classes and I hope this tab will help me get the iPad Pro 2021 next year! Amen.
Very good input. Yea the fact that one is unable to move apps is a huge "No no" for many people - not sure what Samsung's intentions where here - maybe to push people to go for the larger internal storage? not sure. Still a nice tablet for sure, with many improvements. Thanks for sharing!

Went with the s6 lite as well. I like that it has fast charging capability, double tap on screen to wake it up, 4gb ram, and of course the s pen.

Yes the 4 GB RAM kicks in heavy gaming and multitasking

You actually can move apps to the sd card on the a7 you have to go to developer mode aand force apps on sd card

It's just a matter of where you will use it. I selected the A7 because I have a Note10 Lite already. Most of my productivity is done on my phone, then most of my entertainment is on my tablet. Im really loving it. :)

So I decided to exchange my a7 for the s6 lite. Very happy with the upgrade. One thing I have notice and researched about, is that when using a book case and has any kind of magnetic components to it it can affect the s pen. Where it will miss areas on the tablet when writing. I thought there was a defect to my first s6 so I went to exchange it. Then I wrote on the new one and everything was fine till I put it in a case which I bought on Amazon. So i think if your not using the Samsung case it may happen. Or buy single back cover up to you. Just want to advice people before they think they have a defective s6 lite tablet.

I ve the s6 lite and I m very happy with it. Netflix or RUclips works fine or Microsoft teams for work as well and surfing the web. I d recommend it

A7 seems like a great budget option for budget friendly students, I can see someone hooking up an external keyboard to get papers done away from a computer or check emails/stream. I still have my Tab S5e and I don't miss not having the S pen- there are cheaper alternatives that work well. I primarily use mine for gaming/ streaming and I love it. Looking to get a tablet for my dad, I am leaning towards the Tab S6 Lite even though I don't see him using the S pen. He barely uses the stylus on with Note 10 😂

Very good review. I got all the information that I actually needed! That being said - the only thing kept annoying me were you hands that kept waving side to side - it was quite... distracting. Perhaps raising the camera just a little so your hands don't come on focus too much?
Hey! I have an idea. Your videos are amazing. You always go to the full extent and the videos have alot of quality. But the one thing that attracts people to a video is the thumbnails. I really think improving how the thumbnail looks will give random people scrolling an idea about the quality of your videos

Glad I found your video! Leaning towards the A7 since it is cheaper and mainly gonna use it for Zoom lectures on the go (got a online class in between two in person classes). S6 Lite was up there but only if I used it as my main device since I still take notes on paper.

In Poland s6 lite is double of the a7 price. I wouldnt pay another 200$ for s-pen support.
I have the S7 and bought the A7 as a gift. Both are great tablets and great value for the price.
The A7 surprised me and the S7 is on another league! The best of the best out there.

From a google search, I found this for the A7. I feel you should make a video trying this as it's a big deal with the A7 (edit some said that didn't work so you might try it)
"if you open "Settings", scroll down to "Apps", tap the app you'd like to
move, then under the specific app options tap "Storage" and under
"Storage used" tap "change" , it gives you the option to move the app to
an SD card if you have one installed.
There are exceptions. If the app is preloaded or somehow registered to
your Google or Samsung account , they don't allow you to move most of
those apps. It's hit and miss but you can move some and of course it's a
pain to move every app individually.
You can also go into "Settings" and "Storage" and select your SD card
and tap the hamburger menu, and select "Settings" and "Format as
internal", then "Erase and Format". your SD card will then be read as
internal storage"

In terms of multicore cpu, the A7 seems better on paper, but honestly they are almost on part with each other, except the S6 Lite handles multi tasking better in my opinion

I have the regular tab s6 and picked up the tab a7 today for the kids for Xmas and I'm really impressed with it it's very similar to my tablet at a fraction of the cost the speakers are loud and the screen is bright and clear its not going to be great at multitasking as the RAM is significantly less but the apps I've tried run smoothly i think they will be very happy with it I wish I'd known about the expandable storage though as I got the 32 gig thinking I'd be able to upgrade it with an SD card like you can with other Samsung devices.

I bought a samsung tab s6 lite and its nice and big battery i can use the s pen for my note taking and as a 11th grade i will highly recommend this tablet🥰

I personally haven't heard anything, but it is very possible. Although, to be honest Samsung has been so all over the place with the phone releases and options, that I am looking forward to what they are going to do next year with the tablets in terms of names, category, etc
Can we use A7 with stylus pen ? Can you recommend that? Stylus model ? I need take note with cheaper combination.
The A7 will work with a third party capacitive pen, but NOT a Samsung S pen. If you absolutely need a pen that will be accurate, you will have to go for the S6 Lite. Otherwise, you can check out Amazon for some capacitive pens

Fantastic video, exactly answered the questions I had for these tabs that I haven't seen in any other review. The parts about not being able to fully utilise an SD card or total lack of S pen support in the A7 was enough to swing it the way of the S6 lite. The question now is, new S6 Lite or used S6?

I'm watching this a day later from ordering the A7 on amazon. Well that moving app to sd card issue paled my excitement of getting it delivered ngl but you do have good things to say about it and I'm sure it won't let me down! The S6 Lite sure is a better option amongst the two with the pen but it was almost twice (around 80% more) the price of A7 here. I already have a stylus so I hope it will give me a good experience as even with the S pen there is bound to be a noticeable lag. I aimed the tab to be esp for my udemy classes and I hope this tab will help me get the iPad Pro 2021 next year! Amen.
Very good input. Yea the fact that one is unable to move apps is a huge "No no" for many people - not sure what Samsung's intentions where here - maybe to push people to go for the larger internal storage? not sure.

I use my s6 with my Dji Mavic Air 2 drone. I installed the Dji Go Fly app on the tablet and it works great.
