@@JRLNeal Gosh it is warmer than that here and it is mid winter. I will be over your way in Ausgust. Hopefully we will get the chance to catch up again.
John, really cool video. Any idea what type of base this was? Fighters, bombers, etc.? That old building looked like your classic American quonset hut to me. So your dad took an in-service RAF aircraft, during wartime, to take his wife on a family vacation? How did he ever do that? Clever man!
The base was transport and training. I think some Americans were based there too. And yes the aircrew often got up to various tricks. My dad told me when was on the Berlin Airlift he ‘liberated’ a few items including a small arms Luger.
As always John a great video, it was a pleasure to meet you on Saturday in town.
Good to meet you too. How’s the wood turning going. I might have some wood you might be able to use. Dm me off Facebook

Great video, thank you John. 6.42 aerial view of the junction of the Hinckley railway spur. Apparently built but never opened to traffic.
Thanks for your observation Mick.
Wow I didn’t know it looked like that from a birds eye view!
Cheers!
I enjoyed it too.
Another interesting video. I’ve only seen the proving ground on Google Maps on the way to the George and Dragon.
Thanks
Fascinating video.
Thanks.
