- Failing to deliver a well-designed Power BI Report is perhaps the most common reporting pitfall. What good is quality data if it is not presented in a way that is meaningful or easily understood? Someone without any prior knowledge should be able to quickly understand a report without explanation and be quickly drawn to the key elements you want them to view. This video will walk through the common dos and don’ts of reporting in Power BI, using easy-to-learn techniques that bring data to life.

This was a VERY helpful video on settings that make all the difference. Thank you!
Great Video,
- An alternative way to make all cards the same size is to use General tab in Format pane to set the Height and Width of your visual.
- Also instead of closing the project file and reopen it again, you could collapse the Fields pane and expand it again and the table will be a measure table.
Hi there! Both great suggestions. Before snap to grid I used to use the general section a lot for pixel alignment, but then personally found it faster to either resize with snaps or to copy/paste the items. Thanks for the pointer about the DAX Table refresh! I had a colleague point that out to me last week as well. So much easier than open/closing the file. :)
Excellent! Thanks Reid.
Very good video and thanks for the tips for the measure table !

Amazing video! Thanks Reid for posting it on YT. I follow many DAX/PowerPivot/PowerBI experts and you are one of the very few who has mastered both aspects (technical and design) of these incredible tools. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I’ve come a long way since this video too. Here’s some more current templates and designs of mine if you’re interested. www.havensconsulting.net/files-and-templates/

This is prob one of the best video I have seen on power bi dashboard. I am curious to hear about the course you teach. Any possibility for you to share a link about them
Thank you for the compliment! I'm glad you found some use from it. So the course I teach at UW is this one. www.pce.uw.edu/courses/data-visualization-essentials. I also do private trainings, consulting, and teach public classes for PowerPivotPro as well, that info can be found here powerpivotpro.com/how-we-can-help-overview/?src=hcwh. May I ask how you came across this video. It seems like it's gotten a lot more views / subscriptions recently.
Great video Reid, as all of your videos. I purchased a training through Udemy and your section was by far the most productive and with most detailed content, I appreciate your help
Glad to hear! What was the course link?
