I believe in Pokémon Unbound, you start by being kidnapped and your starter is freed from a cage. Super dark for a Pokémon game. Loved this video. The effort put into some of these hacks is amazing. Great vid. Missing a “to be faiiiiiiiir.”

Nice list! I'd say the best 3 romhacks are Unbound, Prism, and Radical Red. Crystal Clear is also in the mix if you are wanting something less conventional.

When I got my miyoo mini as first ever Pokémon game I picked up randomly firered got 5-6 hours in then learned what rom hacks are and randomly picked unbound… after 50 hours lost and as someone who isn’t Pokémon fan… haven’t seen better game so far… truly Joey choose to speak facts… it’s 10/10 wonder if there is anything to match that

Does unbound have any rtc locking issues? I remember reading somewhere that the game has measures to stop manual timing changing, but I don’t see any other way with the mm+
It just works. Make sure you have mm+ set to update the clock from Wi-Fi in the Tweaks System menu.

How do you get unbound on the mini plus?
I wish you would explain in the beginning what a rom hack is exactly for newbies. Are they standalone games that need to be downloaded separately? Or are those "hacks" applied to the original games that they are based on?

Hey, not sure I understand your question, but you login to retroachievements in retroarch and then any games that use them, you earn achievements in.

I've only ever played Pokemon Yellow. I want to get more into Pokemon. Do you suggest trying the OG versions of these games first or is there any Rom Hack that would be better suited for newcomers?
I would definitely play the OG versions first, which for most of this list is FireRed. It's a more complete version of Yellow basically.
I have a friend trying to play unbound and have the fire red rom from archive and the patch you linked in your description, but rom patcher is giving him a check sum error. should he look elsewhere for a different rom or a different patch?
Checksum error sounds like the wrong revision/rom. You'll have to find the right rom version, Unbound needs 1.0.
What is your opinion of the Pokemon Red ++ hack? That one seems pretty popular. A good one for a first time user?

When I download Unbound, inside the zip the game is a .ups extension, so when I put it in my moms folder for GBA on my MM+ it won't load? Am I doing it wrong?
You need to patch that file to the original rom. You'll want to read their instructions.

Yeah it's an SD card, or if you use OnionOS, you can transfer over http.

I don't, but it's the same process as any other romhack, patch the rom with the romhack and move the rom to the Miyoo gba folder.

Must have done something wrong, I can confirm it does.
Can you at least make a video or link one that actually shows how you installed these rom hacks?... People that are new to emulators and unfamiliar with how to transfer files over to the Miyoo Mini Plus are left stuck, myself included.
