That is a beautiful smoker. Shirley Smokers is really winning me over. I am about to call and inquire about getting one made as well. Thank you for your video. Very informative. And you also answered one of the things that I thought about. I live in Virginia and I could assume shipping would be an additional $1000 minimum, so I was considering driving to pick it up. My trip would be about 10 hours, but I see you guys coming from Kentucky was at least 7, so that gives me a little more confidence to actually do that. Thanks again for the video.
Congratulations! Great looking smoker, nice truck, clearly you are blessed with a great younger sister ( who also enjoys singing) good for you for living your best life
That's beautiful! I'm actually waiting for mine now. I have just under 2 years left on my wait. It was a 2.5 year wait when I paid my deposit. I going to be getting a 24x60 elevated straight back with stainless shelf and rotated warmer. I can't wait until I take my trip to Tuscaloosa! I hope you are enjoying your smoker man!
That must have been an adventure on the open road, knowing your having a new smoker at the end and then hooking it up for the ride, time must have flew. Nice, very handsome styling, too bad they don't have stick burner shows like car shows, you might have won a prize. Good luck, great vid
You might have purchased this very cooker, I traded her for a 250-gallon smoker put of Georgia. I think she was listed for like 3750. For a second, I thought to go buy her back🤣🤣 enjoy the cooker, brother, you won't be disappointed!
Congratulations on what has to be one of the nicest traditional offsets I’ve seen. I’d pick this over a Workhorse and even a Mill Scale. Subscribed to see your impressions after getting to know the pit. BTW I’m a purist and think you made the right decision not getting the Cowboy firebox. 👍
Thanks brother, I can tell you that I'm 9 hours into a 3 brisket cook and there isn't anything more fun than running this pit. It makes me feel like I work at Franklin bbq🤣
Hi James, I know this is an old video but I'm seriously considering purchasing the same off set and rig and I believe we are in the same area too, I actually went to Bryan Station for a bit, but would love the opportunity to pick your brain on a number of questions.
Thank You for your service. I wanted to know if there's any difference in taste between the reverse flow and this traditional flow pit? I'm not sure which one to get but I know it will be a Shirley. Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
I haven't cooked on the reverse flow in a few weeks so I can't accurately speak on a flavor difference, what I will say is there is a textural difference for sure. My chickens are crisper and my brisket has a heavy bark on it. I plan to do a say by side cook in the near future!!
How wide of a trailer is the cooker on, and how'd it pull going down the highway? I'd love to get one, but it'd be a long haul bringing it home. Definitely don't wanna pay shipping. Lol
I LOVE both pits, and the 24×36 has great space for a patio sized cooker. The major difference I see so far is the traditional smoker draws a whole lot more air and burns more wood. I lean towards the traditional for that reason, the convection helps crisp chicken skin and builds a great bark on my beef products but definitely has to be monitored more closely because things will crisp up if not careful. Either way you go you'll love it, I do like having it on a trailer because I plan to tailgate this football season.
I’m trying to decide between this or a Workhorse 1975t which is how I came across your vid. A comparable 1975t is around $4200. Is this in the same ballpark? What was your lead time? Thanks and enjoy.
I had the same dilemma, I obviously went with the Shirley but I don't believe you can go wrong with either Smoker. The lead time at my time of purchase was 3 months and the price tag was a little more expensive than the Workhorse, by about 700 dollars.
@@JamesTaylor-uo2ng I want to buy my first Offset and want to know if the Drive is the same like from Wirkhorse or better ? I like the workhorse 1975 but in the forums I read every time to buy a Shirley . The Shirley smoker looks great but is the drive as good as from the workhorse? I heard that They spend a lot for they engineering for they smokers . Thanks Dean
I would get the cowboy fire box, not sure how often I'd actually use it but it's a cool option and a stainless shelf. Other than that I can't imagine anything making this better than it is.
I got on the list right as they announced they would be producing these. If I'm not mistaken, I was on the waitlist for 8-10 weeks. Lead times are a bit longer now, 16 weeks, I think. But they only require a 300 dollar deposit, which is the lowest in the industry, and then you pay at pick up.
That smoker looks fantastic! That man knows what he's doing.
He's the best in the business.
That pit is dope bruh. Best welders on the planet, enjoy!
Absolutely man! I couldn't ask for a better pit builder

I pulled from Alabama to Kentucky and had zero issues. The only time I really felt it was going over a curb in my neighborhood.
Congratulations!! Awesome looking pitt! How well did it trailer for you? Semper Fi brother!
I couldn't ask for a smoother ride. Backing takes practice due to its weight, but through town or on the highway it's a dream
Congratulations nice smoker am a new on your channel I have a pellet smoker I did some videos on this channel or my other channel hope to upgrade
I will check it out
Beautiful pit! I know you have only had it a short time but how does it compare to your patio model? I’m trying to make a decision between the two .

How did that tow?
It tows great. It's heavy enough that outside of like major pot holes, you'll forget it's back there.

If it's not to much trouble to ask what w a s the cost of this smoker?
At the time I purchased it, it was running 4950$, give or take what options you opted for.
