- From my personal vinyl's collection.
Oregon is a jazz and world music group, with core members Ralph Towner (guitar, piano, synthesizer, trumpet), Paul McCandless (woodwind instruments), Glen Moore (double bass, violin, piano), and Collin Walcott (percussion, sitar, tabla).
This song is "Timeless" ("Friends", 1977)

Everything you do is a balloon by boards of Canada brought me here as it was the inspiration for their song and thank you .
A Brilliant tune interpreted generously and eloquently.
l'inspiration qui porte cette période de Oregon est exceptionnelle.
john's tmeless album will go down in history as an all time great, like kind of blue for miles
Beautiful! I have played this over and over...
Oregon a toujours été présent en moi, dans la tendresse comme dans le recueillement.
It is 1980. Copenhagen. Oregon are playing at the Montmartre Club. I rush there right after my stupid restaurant gig. As I walk into the club I run right into Towner and Moore!!! Ayyyyyyyyyy! Of course, I had three of their albums with me, so I asked them if they would sign them for me. Ralph said, "Wow,he's actually buying our records!!! " I asked if they still played "Timeless". "No, we haven't in a long time" said Moore.
Second set starts and... the intro to Timeless seeps into my veins. Ah
NYCBG Contact me .
So they played it that nite ??
NYCBG good on you!
Glen Moores bass sounds like a synth. so powerful
Never heard this before, gave me a huge lump in my throat.
"Look upon my works ye mighty and despair."
Yep, one of the best songs in music history! :)
This is one of my favorite songs too.
Wow inspiring stuff..Those sitar vibes blend enormously well with the guitar and bass licks..let alone the musicallity of this music..
Great stuff by Oregon - the song is a composition by John Abercrombie.
Its as if he wrote this specifically for Oregon !
Timeless is one of my two favorite tunes, the other being the Dixie Dregs's Night Meets Light. In addition to Oregon and Ralph Towner, Gerry Niewood, a flute player, also recorded Timeless.
It's amazing! The only thing I miss is a bit of violin from Seifert!!! :)
Wonderful-I have this on CD and I totally forgot this track was done by the band as well as by Towner solo. I guess it's been too long since I played this Oregon album, huh?
Nice! Ralph Towner does a version of this on the ECM album 'Solo Concert' from 1980. the original is still my favourite though.
Why the edit? The full thing is 8.20!
yeah may be
@DoubleTakeJazzDuo : yes John Abercrombie on his Timeless ECM release in 1975 I think... Jan Hammer and Jack De Johnette...
Another great version can be heard on a 1976 "ECM Live at the Village Gate" radio broadcast... not publicly available...
