Great guide Honcho! With how much knowledge you have on vehicles in Squad, I’d love to see some progression videos to give players more advanced tactics. Definitely an aspect that hasn’t been covered much here on RUclips.
Thanks man, That's certainly the plan once I get into the swing of things! There was a few things I wanted to mention in this video but left out as I didnt want it to be an Information Overload!
One thing I like doing as a driver is giving a damage report. Any time it sounds like we've taken a hit I like saying what has been damaged and how much damage we've taken. Tracked Left, armor at 80% etc.
good drivers are the true gods of armor squads. you have to know more than the gunner about the situation but communication between you and them is still key. and also know about the tank itself like depression limits for good hull down positioning, knowing when to disengage(ill explain that below), knowing the performance of ur engine at different health % so you know how much you need to repair to be able to move fast enough to escape if ur engine gets blown up by AT therefore wasting less time, trying to drive on flatter ground to make it easier for the gunner, trying to angle the tank so it's harder for the enemy to hit your ammo rack (given theres no point doing that on the t72 lol that thing sucks). knowing the map too is a huge advantage. there are certain routes you can take to get to the obj faster. example is yehorivka riverbed route when your main is from the northwest. not many people know about that. its the tiny stuff that matter. but i think this only goes for hardcore drivers who somehow find joy in being stuck in a box looking out of a ruler sized hole. that was me at one point. now i play off of the cmd seat. also a tip, if you're driving a tracked vehicle, the handbrake is ur best friend. also when climbing a steep hill, use the gear lock(shift) to stay in 1st or 2nd gear for more torque. ever since moidawg posted that video of ammo racks, its been much harder to do a standoff 1v1 with tanks. its pretty much now the 2 shot rule. whoever shoots first wins bcz its so easy to hit the ammo racks. if the enemy tank gets the first hit on our ammo rack its an immediate disengage. no sense to stay there when u gonna die in 1 more shot and u need to hit the enemy twice to kill, unless the enemy tank too is also 1 shot away from death (25% hull hp or 65% ammo rack hp)from either AT or a previous engagement. there are exceptions though like if im in an abrams since its impossible to ammo rack an abrams from the front(unless its being engaged from
It's just a shame it's been nerfed so much. 1 row of sabots, 10 second reload and now any tank or HAT can 1 shot it 😭. But that's what makes being sucsessfull so much sweeter!
I'm actually glad its in the game and have always enjoyed using it, but since the addition of ammo racking its super fragile now. a great tank in its day!
7:17 an heat round is an way better round than AP it is because they have very high penetration power so unless the tank doesnt have reactive armor heat is way better than ap
Man first time playing pc an I play squad it's fun but idk wat tf to do an how can all these people see me without me seeing them this is nothing like battle feild man 😂
@@victor6814 basically a round that when it hits enemy tank its "head" gets squashed and the explosive shrapnel inside bursts into the tank. its meant to be hit enemy on its top side where armour is less and the hesh shell can penetrate downwards. hope u understand

Oh this is an absolute must! Especially as alot of hits can bounce.
Yes as a sl im worried about the tank so i don't want to ask the driver every time we get hit

If one knows what he is doing the T62 is a force to be recconed with especially against enemy armor

@@A_Honcho the t62 is a turd irl so it makes sense lol the abrams is super fun in this game but its way stronger and faster irl
1:45 it's from 1961 and plus it was meant to be a stop gap and was quickly replaced by early t72s .

Good guide, thanks for the info!
Glad it was helpful!
effects in this game is awesome
Especially the Ammo racking one!
Nice guide !
Thanks!
Did they fix that forced reload after switching to the mg and back

fighting t-90, leapords and abrams with HEAT is not the best idea. for tanks like t-62 HEAT is wayyyy better
Yea, maybe in the games lol. I was talking about real life
Tankers! Hooah!
🤘
What are the best servers for tanks? Ive been wanting to play them more; but the servers I play rarely ever have mbt's.
Dead on Dismount
how do you switch seats in a car/tank, anything i click f2, f1 and i just keep getting out the vehicle

Check out my New Player guide dude 🤙 that will get you in the right direction!
HESH and HEAT round are entierly different types of ammo.
I know, but in Squad they're not.
What mean hesh ?
@@victor6814 Learn to speak correctly, and I will explain you all about HESH.
@@reinisrunkulis2547 english is not my motherlanguage. If you want to trashtalk, I prefer doing my research by myself. Thank you anymore.

Could you accept me to your squadron on war thunder? It has one slot left.
I'll see if someone who's still playing can do it. I've not been on War Thunder in nearly a month
