- As many have found out now the new @Traxxas Maxx Slash has been a disappointment. With excessive body roll that leads to easy roll overs and limited suspension travel this rc does not do anything well. I contacted Traxxas about the optional ant sway bars they said no complaints on this rc it was too powerful for me!!

Good video! I did mention all those things you said in my videos also. I can't speak for all youtubers but personally I am not motivated by money when it comes to my RC hobby. I could care less if I got it for free but as a growing channel what I do value is the early access to vehicles. What I dont think is fair is that I can't genuinely like vehicle without people thinking I get paid or told to say things.... thats mega lame. With that said, love your honestly, keep up the good work man!
Thanks for watching I saw you showed the tires rubbing the hood and had to adjust the suspension too your channel does good as far as growth and your not dependent on it for a living. I did say some channels I do believe are not totally honest about products because its how they make a living there are a few good ones like yours and rc driver I trust there is one other I cant think of off hand it does suck if people dont believe you I would pay for early access it is a valuable asset to have for sure. I noticed the same thing with mine that it flips over. And straight out of the box. My antenna wire was pinched in the receiver box so I had no range. And it went straight into a Pole right out of the box. They wanted me to send in the receiver. Mind you, this is the day after It was released. My hobby shop gave me a new receiver.@@L2theWcarscoffeelife

I started to get bad vibes about Traxxas for their $130 hex driver set on their website.
The Nero lawsuit was garbage too. That's what Traxxas does with their profits, instead of better R&D and that's sad. They put the money into a lawyer instead of into better trucks.
Getting a bit sick of these reviewers telling everbody how good these cars are, only to find those that go & buy them with there own hard earned cash. Find there are several problems, all these reviewers want to point out. That there review is a true honest review, not like some reviewers that also got free cars. None of these reviewers want to fall out with big brand name companys like Traxxas or Arrma etc, because if they did they would be cut off from receiving free cars as quick as that. These review channels have simply become slaves & shop windows to sell products for these companys that give free cars. Lets face it, anyone that is given the latest cars for free costing anything from $300 -$400 up to in excess of $1000+. Certainly dont want to risk being shut out from there paymasters & have to actually buy all there cars again.

Traxxas also claim it does 70miles but it doesn’t even come with gearing for 70 and the best part, they don’t even have gearing for it at all. It’s complete bullshit. 😂
exactly I forgot to mention that its false advertising to say that maybe if they added the pinion that would be the case hell you can make any rc faster Arrma never said the Vendetta was 100 plus rc but many of us did it with a bigger esc and 6s it easily breaks 100 probably will on 4s and bigger gears looks like they are getting burned with all of this the fan boy days of them doing what they want might be over

@@anthonythompson12 Yes you can, problem is Traxxas don't make a 44t spur gear for the Max Slash / Xmaxx. This is the spur they state on there speed chart to achieve the claimed 70+ mph. Not only do they not make a 44t spur, they don't even make a 27t pinion gear. Yes you can get after market pinions in 27t no problem, there is a problem though. Traxxas spur & pinion gears a very wide gears ( much wider than other manufacturers gears ). This is a good thing in as much that it makes it less likely to tear gears teeth off being wider & stronger. If you fit narrower non Traxxas pinion gears onto the wide Traxxas spur gear, you are much more likely to start damaging or tearing teeth of off the gears.
I had same issue when I contacted them. It rides like a HCG. You can’t run this on any surface that isn’t super loose or it’ll flip like mad. My body is beat to hell already. They told me I don’t know how to drive or setup my suspension and that it’s a short course truck. Ummm, I build and sell race RCs and crawlers. The guy I talked to said he’s had no issues because he’s run one twice in a parking lot. I’ve had mine almost a week. I have no suspension travel or rebound out front. Even with full preload dialed in I get constant chassis slap. Under braking the front skid scrapes the ground. The front tires are already rubbing through the body after 5/6 packs. It runs like a dog on 4s. You need to run it on 6s. It rolls constantly, jumps terrible and really inconsistent. It will pull to either side under braking like it’s only braking one front wheel and never the same side. I have the same issue with the trim. I have to readjust every time I run it. The issue with the trim is because the servo is way to weak especially with the extra weight of the belted tires. It’s too much for the cheap af plastic box, plastic geared servo.
You need sway bars, springs, and new servo out the box on this. Oh yeah and a new battery strap unless you want to be stuck at 48/50mm height for a battery. They should’ve at least used the UDR servo.
They cheaped out and reused shocks that aren’t long enough so they didn’t have to make ones that are actually vehicle specific. The rears are to short so they added shock extensions. And then left the front slammed to help wheelies. That’s the last thing you want in a race/fast vehicle is a huge forward rake. The rears dog leg in almost any type of turning pitching all that weight towards the top of the body. My HCG slash handles worlds better.
I’m with you man. The Maxx Slash is a GD cash grab. There’s no way this was even tested by Traxxas.
I could’ve bought an XMAXX for what it’s gonna cost me to upgrade the Maxx Slash just so it’ll run decent. But then how is Traxxas going to sell tons of parts for this if it drives well. I have 5 Traxxas vehicles and this is the only one that I would return if they let me.
Traxxas did offer for me to ship the whole thing back to them (on my dime) for them to check it out. It has the wrong springs out front. I needed to dial in 3/4” on the preload collar before it even touched the spring under the full weight of the truck.

really pahetic the way they treat people like we are dumb or this is a first rc I never heard that from Arrma when I said the big rock would nose dive for no reason they said sorry we are shipping you a new esc! Traxxas wont even offer the sway bars just blame the owner they know damn well it has issues thats why they slammed the front down does seem to be a little better when its dragging the ground! Is sad maybe they will learn a lesson.
your right on the servo too you can see it does donuts on its own if you dont straighten it out there is not enough power to center the wheels back the belted tires are awfully heavy they need to go damn that gets expensive,

hate this happened but it is good to get confirmation from others to the issue now lets see if Traxass will keep blowing everyone off or will they fix this

Everyone except those ones who were mysteriously get it early, it was all great until folks who bought it started reviewing it.
It’s a tank and just does not jump at all it bottoms out and stalls or flips there’s definitely some kind of suspension issue not to mention how dirty it gets compared to the Mojave …buyers beware 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

I don’t normally ever comment negatively, I want to say that first. I have 5 Traxxas vehicles up to Xmaxx Ultimate. I love them. Bought my first Emaxx back in the 90’s. Many nitro’s also. I’ve watched probably all the videos on Utube about this truck since the leaked photos. IMHO it seems to drive like a hobby grade RC. Not very controllable, doesn’t appear to hit dirt piles well, jump or even land good. My 3s Big Rock seems more fun to drive. I think a 4s Mojave would drive circles around this. Everyone has a different driving style so many people may and will love it. Time will tell. It looks cool and exciting, but I guess I’ll continuing watching videos or maybe I’ll get to test drive one like I always try to do before I purchase this one. I would buy one for sure but It seems to be two or three hundred overpriced compared to how other 4s and 6s vehicles out there I’ve reviewed. I hope it doesn’t turn out Traxxas is selling an expensive car that doesn’t really perform well, that’s not like Traxxas. I’m surprised that Traxxas would respond to you like that, I’ve always experienced good customer service from them, though it’s only been a few times I’ve needed to contact them. These are just my opinions and being a true RC lover of all brands I hope people can respect my opinion even if theirs differs. The RC community is great and it’s about helping each other and sharing ideas and observations. 🙂
Me too I love all rc's I have a collection of Traxxas rc's as you know I defend them because they are good a lot of people hate the brand I was really expecting good things from this I have to be honest my opinion is that the rc was not ready to go I think they slammed he springs down to keep it from flipping the tires hit the car does not drive well I understand it not taking big jumps its not designed for it they have plenty of other cars of thats what you want I am disappointed then to have them blow me off say it has a lot of power try 4s no excuse for that I have had my Sledge since release you tell me I cant handle it very disappointing and insulting

@@dclonewolf69 the Arrma Mojave 4S and 6s are a good choice for a UDR
SCT and deserts trucks are a bit tipsy by nature when cornering on high traction surfaces, instead, favoring a straight plush ride over rough terrain.
However, from what I’ve seen of this vehicle, it doesn’t drive as plush or as scale as the Traxxas UDR and corners just as poorly. I think Traxxas was hoping the Maxx Slash would compete with the more basher oriented (and easier to work on than the UDR) Mojave 6s, but instead of putting in the R&D, just slapped together a parts bin truck that has worse performance and is more expensive.
Exactly thats why I never got one they look amazing but the solid axle makes it tipsy and thats fine because you know that going in this was supposed to be 2 really good vehicles put together as a hybrid udr and its miserable thats why I showed the Xmaxx big top heavy rc doesnt roll over like this does they need to wake up thier paid reviewers cant save them

I'm just playing, I've never owned, nor never will own a traxxas, I've brought nearly 30 powerful brushless rtrs over the years, and not one has been a traxxas, well over priced, here in England a maxx slash with 2 4s lipos from traxxas is just under £1000, so nearly $1300😂😂😂 yeah right, sign me up for 2

lol yeah a little bit I have been a good customer or so I thought I have a few of their cars but I dont think there will be anymore unless they make this right. I have pushed a good bit on this channel for good affordable cars to get people into the hobby Traxxas has more cars in the 500 dollar plus range I did a video a while back about this ultimate stuff and are they sleeping havent produced much of anything then when they do its sucks the potential is there who wants to pay this much then add parts. I hope people see this and question the sponsored channels and know that Traxxas does not care worst warranty in the industry that should have been on the hood!!

After a 10-year hiatus from the hobby I was about pull the trigger on a Traxxas XRT, if customer service isn't paramount in their business model then screw Traxxas, my money will be spent on a Losi DBLXE 2.0 an a Corally Asuga.

Sell your Traxxas vehicles. Seriously. I did last year after they legally threatened all those small businesses. Traxxas vehicles flooding the used market hurts sales of new ones and gives you cash to purchase from more ethical RC brands.

Idk bud bud I watched it and seen the typical low speed roll where if yer doing doing tight donut they flip. But I've seriously not had this issue the springs were floppy like I'm talking 2 mm of playbthe springs were just jiggling around when I picked the truck up. So I tightened the collars until it just touched the springs and if I have issues after that than I'll be pissed. Because there is no way running an rc with jiggly springs is good.
Why make it a 70 mph 6s if it slow speed rolls that makes no sense make it a cheaper 2bls this is supposed to be a high speed race truck cant handle a modest turn my Xmaxx can take a turn way faster
I called Traxxas a few times. They have some real a-holes there. Few good guys back when, but they are probably at other companies by now.

Traxxas Maxx Slash is 1126 to my door here in Canadkstan, the Mojave exb 6s is 1000 and the Maxx v2 which is pretty much the same thing without a low center of gravity chassis for 920 for me. Ive been saving for the Maxx v2 as I don't have any good bashers yet. This just lets ya know what the toy dealers customer service is like. This is how they are at redcat too. I guess it just depends how much parts are at the end of the day and where ya live. Awesome review and rant keep em coming. Ya gotta pay to play.
The Maxx still looks nice but the customer service will keep me away from now on. I did a review on the 4s Kraton its an amazing vehicle for the price 55 miles per hour, center diff, its been a fun fast rc I was really surprised how strong it is.

Hey brother, you should get in with Rlaarlo!! Not a lot of these guys are affiliated with them. They are going to blow your mind this year, watch. Did you pre-order your Omni-Terminator yet? Please get one and do a review… I absolutely know you’ll love it! And when Rlaarlo releases an 8th scale desert truck it will blow all of these existing trucks out of the water!! Get in with them if you want to be ahead of these guys.
They did hand out a lot of them and way in advance of when they ship thats kind of disappointing. I reached out to them to see about a partnership I got nothing in response. I cant confirm or deny I have a pre order in you never know one thing is at that price its going to shake up the rc world and traxxas pulling this all I can say is never too big to fail they can look at K Mart and Sears to name a few just sit back and think people will stay loyal forever not going to work

I just try to be honest I have several Traxxas cars and love them but when I have needed support its not there. Horizon hobby has been great for me. The big rock had problems they made it right. Traxxas could have said thank you for telling us lets get your info if more complaints come in we will contact you, Not tell me to detune the car make up the rating is on 4s My other video showed how suddenly it flipped over I even said on here I lowered it to the ground the way they had it seemed to do better but it started doing donuts on its own I even show my hand off the remote the fan boys say its going to flip doing donuts ohhhh boy as you know wat you deal wit to educate the public I just show whats happening if you think its good buy one have fun I appreciate the support wish you were closer so you could drive it.
man i hear you honestly , i had a problem recently and was told Oh never seen that before ! i mean come on ffs ! i had a servo saver just snap on me when turning i mean really ? , then they put it down to something that happened to said truck previously which by the way was on the wrong side to what they said . im not going to mention names but you have watched the videos on my channel dude , the same truck people have dubbed as king of the bashers etc ! im like yourself im a ground pounder i love running fast on the ground , the same truck people send in the air 30ft and according to them drives off without a scratch . just wish manufactures would own issues .ive been in this hobby on and off since i was 13 years of age and now im nearly 50 im quite clearly skilled enough to drive them go figure hey ! , Yeah would love to live closer some of the areas you run your trucks look awesome bud . While I love my TRX4s, I think they will be the only Traxxas products I will continue to own. But when I bought my High Trail F150, the windshield decal was wrinkled, and there were marks on the hood. Traxxas sent me a windshield decal and thats it. Since then I have purchased a few off brand RC's, and a Felony 6s. Your Mojave 6s vs Max Slash was what inspired me to get the Arrma over the Traxxas. I didnt even realize Arrma carries a 2 year warranty! Thanks for the great info, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE SIR!!!!
@applefordguy76 Thank you for the support it is humbling when I hear my video helped you make a decision. The Felony is a beast I really enjoy that car the sound it makes is incredible. Anything in the Horizon hobby umbrella like Losi is all 2 years of warranty. Glad you are enjoying the Mojave its a fantastic rc and needs nothing out of the box. Like you I have other Traxxas cars and I enjoy them after Traxxas said the maxx slash was too much rc for me and wanted me to mail in my remote and reciever its going to be hard for me to buy thier products again. I had high hopes for it being based on the maxx I thought it would be outstanding. The servo saver was so weak I noticed when I took the body off the tires would go wherever when hitting a bump causing it to flip so easily at low speeds. The front suspension is way to weak after investigating more money in an already expensive rc to make it driveable is a joke. They are living on brand loyalty but its only going to go so far. I cant believe that mud boss at 379 for a 2wd 2S rc thats outrageous the Team Corally Syncro4 buggy is 4s and 4wd for the same price thats a no brainer to me
They put belted tires on the Sledge raise the price and act like its new. Arrma put the newer esc and better servo in the Mojave and did not increase the price. Thank you for the great comment I am glad to hear you are enjoying the other cars.
@@L2theWcarscoffeelife Youre so very welcome!! The Mojave is coming tomorrow and I cant wait! I've only been in the hobby for a year or so, starting with a Bigfoot Stampede. Mainly because I'm a Ford guy, and Traxxas definitely has a beautiful body on their crawlers. Especially since I own a 1:1 scale 77 Ford truck. I have found this hobby is highly addicting! Currently working on an older Slash I bought used, with a BLX100 ESC and upgraded servo and a 3250kv Rocket motor. PO used this truck hard, rebuilding the diffs and slipper clutch. Its a fast little machine but hard to control. Definitely a learning curve. Its too bad Traxxas doesn't offer the support, like you said, these toys are expensive!! I have worked with the public since I was 16, and I am now 47. NEVER place blame on a customer. Even if you know in your heart its something they're doing incorrectly, you work together to find a solution. Shame on Traxxas. They need to realize theyre not the only manufacturer out there!
@applefordguy76 like you said they are not the only game in town like the Rlaarlo you just bought and Team Associated to name a few. Funny thing is a viewer saw what was wrong. The light on my esc was blinking meaning tqi was off. Just had to hold down the bimd button for a few seconds the light stays on and tqi is on. How did they not know this? And at my cost they wanted it mailed in. I have 8s Traxxas cars but somehow this one was too much lol. Between the servo saver being weak and tqi being off it was crazy. For your car that is hard to control you might consider a dumbo radio and a gyro receiver. Its in my store and they are cheap. Best thing is you can bind multiple cars to it and the receivers are cheap. I put it in my omni terminator I was tired of the remote it came with plus I try to simplify things with 3 remotes for the most part.

I got mine only yesterday and I agree on shocks.. Pile dog poop... Also minor crash or flip and and body pop over front bumper and how do i turn off the esc... When I press the button it stays on😢 I have to unplug the battreys
Thats the only way on a Traxxas it is annoying. They had problems with the X maxx catching fire so now they make you unplug it. Only way around it is a new esc unfortunately or deal with it there is really no programming on a factory esc.
This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I just dont think Traxxas knows how to make a short course truck. I will admit that the UDR is pretty good as a scale SCT. BUT! The 1/10 Slash kinda sucks. I tried my best to like it. Everyone on the internet loves the slash. I thought it was just me. Then i bought a Tekno SCT. It blew me away. The slash isnt even in the same league. Then i bought a Senton 3s. It was better too. I love my Mojave 6s EXB. Probably one of my favorite RC's ever. Anyways, the point is that Traxxas just isnt that good at making SCT platforms in my opinion (other than the UDR). They really need to go back to the drawing board on this one. At least redesign the suspension. I'm not convinced that sway bars will help it much.
I feel your pain they have the worst customer service! they created an online chat support where in the end you get blamed for there overpriced faulty products and yes we all felt that too. Sorry!
Had the same crap with the erevo 2.0 the esc went out before the batteries were drained on the first run tried to return it to no avail and had to wait three months to get a new esc and will never do it again my first losi and team corally sold me on a quality product I will spread your word with pride soldier salute

It looks like the center diff needs thicker fluid. The rear-end is pushing the car around in circles.

The other thing I'm not happy about the Traxxas vehicles is they are a great vehicle AFTER you do a bunch of upgrades. My Sledge is one of my favorites now but that's after I had to fix the axle popping out and the dogbone pins from sliding out by getting all 4 front cv axels from M2C. And hub extensions to use the backflps. Plus a max 6 with stock motor. Now its a great car. I'm tired of buying a $500 to $1000 and then have to put another $1000 into it to get a good truck. I have many traxxas vehicles but not one is stock.
That's why I'm never buying a traxxas.
Its sad most of thier stuff is really good but customer service sucks

Razor RC also gave it a low score but you can tell which channels get their trucks for free because they rave about how great it is! That’s why Arrma is and has been killing them for years now! Glad you support the honesty thank you very much I have been harassed a lot by the fan boys for telling the truth telling me I cant drive a toy car I appreciate the support I just show what the rc does I have no agenda I have many Traxxas rc's and love them this one has problems the way I see it I share my observations hopefully they fix it no rc should need new parts out of the box.
The folks who buy their own stuff will always be the ones to go to for the best information on the vehicles imo .
Traxxas never fails to let you down and they are a shit company. I have the Maxx slash and I enjoy the truck but suspension and tires are definitely it's down fall. I shouldn't have to put the widemaxx kit on it right away for it to working more like it should but that's what happened.
do the tires hit with it sticking out? I agree it should be good out of the box I wish something like my Sledge tires would fit to see if taking off the belted tires would help

Traxxas warranty isn't a real warranty - a true warranty is no cost to the consumer. Traxxas makes you send back defective items at your expense, and then sometimes charge you up to 50% of the cost of a new part to replace the defective part. I experienced this myself with a defective Traxxas transmitter: I had to pay for shipping, but instead of replacing the transmitter, Traxxas said they reprogrammed it and sent it back. And it still didn't work right. I went with a different radio system after that.
I agree the warranty the offer is not much of a warranty nothing is in writing they fix what they want at their pleasure make you pay for electronics warranty My Sledge broke out of the box they wouldnt send me a new one because they were out of receivers I still kept buying stuff lol
The thing i love about my first RC being from Horizon Hobby, is they are very great with customer service. They did everything to fix my issue in a very short time. They made me a fan with their warranty service.

@Boogie_the_cat I have had nothing but good experiences with Horizon Hobby from a plane being damaged in transport they sent me a whole new plane not just parts to a wholemesc because the button fell out of the on off switch they have been great. I called all kinds of crap from the fan boys saying I cant drive and everything traction rolls but after driving it with no body I saw the front wheels would turn on thier own the servo saver was not strong enough while everyone thinks the only thing to do with a rc is drive straight at a ramp and jump it I actually drive them lol. After a servo and servo.saver and adding the shock extenders to the front to help the pathetically weak springs we got somewhere with it. Now I removed the extenders put stiffer springs and thinner oil and it rips like it should have so I showed it wasnt me the rc was not ready in my opinion. I just try to be honest as to what your getting for your money and let the viewers decide if they want or don't want it but I did express my thoughts that I was not happy with it. I agree completely , one word for ya ,,,, beachball !!yes I own the one I purchased, I complained to the company called KRAKEN rc about my two battery packs $450 ESC , it's 12s , I've been a customer since day one there $2000 rigs ! I own four of them , they cancelled my new truck order , and all other paid for orders. And told me to basically get lost , with my $450 ESC problem , the industry is pathetic now , im 67 years old been in this great hobby for 30 years. Good job man ! I've seen more than a few content creators who said the Maxx Slash had handling issues and it need some tweaks to make it handle good and you shouldn't have to worry about a $700 rc driving like garbage

It's funny how the reviews changed from the mysteriously early release ones to the post release bought ones. Drove one of these yesterday with both my Mojaves and a different one today. The one today was bottoming the suspension under acceleration and braking on pavement. It was straight out the box and had serious scratches on both front and rear skids after 5 minutes. This one handled decent on pavement but yesterday on grass was atrocious and everyone agreed both Mojaves were better. Also the one today didn't whine and sound like the mesh was too tight like they have on videos and the one yesterday did.
The front and rear shocks are crap. Springs are to light and oil to thin. I also don't think the rear doesn't have enough travel to be fixed from the bouncing and bottoming out off all but the smallest jumps. If you make the springs too stiff you'll still bounce. I don't think that can be tuned out.
I also noticed the one today couldn't be trimmed straight consistently. It'd go straight under acceleration then turn left off throttle or just randomly start pulling left. Bad servo saver maybe? We didn't really investigate. Was just a quick out of the box and run a few minutes.
Also that clipless body is great until you have to take it off after running in anything wet. Muddy hands await.
P.S. My Fireteam will eat both my buddies Sledges and all 3 are stock electronics. All I've done is move my battery tray back and ear plug the center diff.
I wish my Xmaxx turned like a tank, lol. Pretty sure they'll turn in place. Compared to my 8s exb Outcast my Xmaxx turns like semi.
Thar is one problem I have is the trim goes one way or the other trying to speed test it you move it just a little it goes crazy because of the body roll and my trim is about maxed all the way over how the hell did it ship so out of whack? Mine does the same you hit the brakes who knows where it wants to go and it doesnt want to center the servo sometimes it stays turned. The 4s Kraton and outcast with the new body inside does great at deflecting dirt and that this ting is a trash can nobody there uses a rc or cares They set this to sit on the ground its not even using the front shocks probably because they know it will roll. your too literal lol tanks can spin in place but they usualy dont do that it tears up the ground and the tracks , but the outcast and x maxx need a football field to turn at speed the punch on the fireteam is strong but its not going to run down the sledge its weight has the advantage ground running and turning

At the $700 price Tag there should not be these issues. Traxxas picked the wrong veteran to mess with because Veterans who do RC for PTSD therapy will watch this video and know you went the extra mile to show just how bad this car is. No question about it. Perhaps Traxxas will watch this video and listen and recall this car and fix the problems. I know if it was my company I would. I would not have my good name on this release ruining my good name. I would also get my customer service department strait and make sure they talk to my customers with respect and be sure they do not disrespect the customers ever.
I dont think they will do anything maybe a version 2 add some shiny parts jack up the price its sad they think they are too big to fail they should learn from Sears and K Mart they have stiff competition coming they do not offer much in the lower price range and the upper stuff has not changed in years I appreciate all you have done for me

I own 2 traxxas, Mini Maxx and XMaxx. i wanna TRX- 79 silverado crawler. but will never buy Traxxas again. Just on there business practice. Its just wrong to have a known part breaking, and keep putting it on, while the same production line is making an upgraded part, and keep putting the shity part still in production. besides its mostly plastic, and plastics wears out., i would like a slug but there is way to many issues with it and the upgrades that's needed to make it launch worthy. but then again im kinda a Arrma.... fan have fun
Great video. All you ever hear is bias towards their products and service. You can tell who is sponsored by traxxas and who isn't. For my bashers I stick to arrma, Cheaper and better imo. For my racing i stick to team associated. Only thing I use traxxas for is my trx4 crawler.

Traxx-ass for Never! Having issues with a new RC is one thing but they’ve been in business since the 80’s and Should know how to treat the consumer when there’s an issue! It’s why Arrma and Corrally are killing Traxx-ass in sales the last few years! When you put out garbage, then treat the customer like garbage it proves you don’t care and you yourself as a company are garbage!
man look at redcat , a smaller company than traxxas ,arrma ,team corally etc, and when they had problem out of the box with the machette they offer tons of parts + fixed parts for free +money or full refund on your car with no questions.
Been looking at other companies I recently did Tean Corally and W L Toys and I have a few others coming stand by 😁
Ive bought a handful of Arrma vehicles and they have been through the ringer (one of them is a 95mph vendetta and shes gone airborne and hit curbs hard enough to permanently crease the body), havent broken a single part aside from the little rubber body clip holders and the wing.
Traxxas is overpriced for the product you get in my opinion. Ive even got a couple redcat models and i only burned out 1 servo because i put the e revo wheels and tires on a blackout pro, so like 4 times the size and weight of the wheel and tire it came with.
Of course it's tippy. Traxxas hopes to sell you a kit to widen it and make it more stable. I'm guessing $159.95.

I had high hopes for this RC. I don't like picking sides when it comes to brands, but this truck is terrible. It doesn't do anything better than any of it's competitors. Yes, it's tough, but that's about it. Every unbiased consumer agrees with this point and yours. Traxxas was wrong for this one..
I get your complaints with your experience with Traxxas support and will agree the Maxx Slash does need some work. However, your comparison on dirt and grass is pretty unfair. Of course the kraton and xmaxx with giant knobby tires will pull better and handle rough terrain better than a narrow truck with thin belted tires.
No its not unfair at all are you only going to drive it loose pack dirt? I show multiple driving experiences so people can make a decision if it fits thier driving style the only thing I dont do is launch my cars 20 feet in the air. Watch todays video where I tracked down the problem then tell me if its the same rc or not.
@L2theWcarscoffeelife I have watched the update video and definitely agree it's handling a lot better with new servo and servo saver. I also agree that, while it's a fun truck to drive, the Maxx Slash has some kinks that need to be ironed out. Showing other options and driving styles is a good thing as well. I just believe it would have been fairer to compare the handling to something like the Mojave 4s/6s or other larger scale SCT.

Yeah I stopped buying traxxas years ago they want top dollar for everything and I’ve always had Major issues with they’re stock electronics I always have to spend 300 bucks more because of course the steering servo always blows out but the esc is always crap in my experience I stick with losi and I mostly crawl so vanquish and axial products traxxas is definitely a bully in the rc industry

Traxxas problem is when they tried to start being cocks with the TRX4M when they tried to come after the aftermarket community for making parts for their vehicles past that it was known as the Gucci RTR they have had other things to gripe about, but IMO that's when they jumped off a cliff in the RC community... Just like you cant sell your old product as a hobby shop on eBay with out that shit 2024 traxxas sales team saying we will come after you as well... (Big nero fan too so ya now they dropped that Revo 2.0 too come on now 🙄🙄🙄)

100% the big RUclipsrs who are given free cars do not give honest reviews. It wasn't til average Joes got them that the problems were brought to light. This is not the first car for this to happen with and it won't be the last!
I was watching the first videos (by the big RUclipsrs) on the Maxx Slash and the car was driving like ass and they were just acting like it was fine! You could feel their tongue being held back. The big RUclipsrs get the cars earlier, watch their videos for what they are, a first look, then wait for trustworthy reviews before you buy the cars.

It seems they just made the Maxx Slash for a cash grab without a lot of engineering. Just convenient to have three chassis’s that share parts in between them. Cheap on Traxxas. Chassis’s for different classes should be different.
Simple fix,return the RC and move on ! Never base my purchase on reviews found on RUclips or anywhere else.

Horizon hobby is a large corporation it bought a lot of companies but they have won me with the customer service they have never let me down when ever I needed anything

Instead of taking constructive criticism on their vehicles they wanna criticize the consumer like they don’t know what they are talking about. They make good stuff but they aren’t perfect by any means like act. They probably act this way because they know they are the biggest RC brand and don’t feel the need to grow and keep people happy.
Exactly when the issue with the big rock was brought up Arrma listened and issued a fix they never said its your driving that makes it nose dive to the ground they gave me a new esc then they issued a software fix
