Yes! The swinging centripetal weight of the arms and club are about 100 lbs. and will feel like it needs to be counter-balanced but then that same moving weight is actually used to recover your balance. That swinging weight will pull you back up and into balance. Oddly this phenomena is what causes early extension. As he said we don't see pros standing up and what he didn't say is that's because pros aren't forcing the clubhead down to the ball. Pros swing on what they see as a flat level plane that intersects the ball. When amateurs force the clubhead down to the ball the counter to that move it that they have to stand up and early extend. Excellent video, Dan!
Good video. The center of mass of our golf club, however, is closer to the club head than the middle of the shaft. Find the balance point of the club and that is your CM. of the club. Letting go of the club is an excellent concept as you point out. Fred Shoemaker gave me a tip many years ago. He mentioned imagining that each of our arms are connected to our shoulders by a small wire. My way of thinking about that is the concept that we don't swing our arms, they are swung by our swing.
I came across your content a few days ago and just had an amazing session at the range today. I'm not getting quite the distance I've been getting by muscling the club, but on my best swings today I was getting about 90% of the distance and literally felt like I was barely using any energy. I trust that the distance will come as my body learns how to make the move even more efficient. A huge aha moment for me was realizing a feeling of weightlessness in my hands as I transitioned from backswing to downswing. A roller coaster reaching its apex before a big free fall was the image that came to mind. As someone who has been trying for a long time to overcome my tendency to jerk at the club with my hands at the top, I was amazed at the progress I made today
Truly priceless information. I have a health related balance issue . I’ve coined my own golf phrase. “Balance is golfs hidden fundamental “ After oxygen balance is one of your brains priorities. No matter how you wish to swing a golf club if it compromises your balance your brain will default to balance every time. 😊.
Well said! We are hard wired to not fall over and we are hard wired to minimize calorie burn for motion. Through correct perception and intention, our body will find "good" balance - the kind that creates the effortless and powerful motion that exists in everyone!
Hey Dan, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel

Basically, sir Isaac newton, I’m in my mid 60s and don’t have the speed I used to have so this information has helped me.
I'm more of an Einstein fan, but thank you!!
