- What's up RUclips Family, in this video the Def quality sensor goes out while I was getting loaded, I had to cancel my loads, but we were able to fix it that night. Just another day in the life of a Owner operator, trying to Survive. Truck, 2017 Peterbilt 579 Cummins Isx.
Happened to me last week on my KW T680. Had replaced the DEF Quality sensor last year. Dealer kept my truck for 32 days for a $300 part. Same thing last week but my mechanic replaced it same day. It's a pretty stupid design on the Kenworth. Your supposed to drop the Def tank.
Did DEF Quality sensor fix the problem?
Very informative video you have Bro. Keep it up and drive safe👍🏼
Thanks bro, I appreciate it.
Was your truck running hotter or..was the def light flashing? Im getting codes for nox sensor and a heating element.
No it wasn't running hotter, only the lights on the dash in the video came on.
I am having that issue right now with my 2016 Kenworth T680. I'm in Liberal, KS. Did it on us54. The truck just died on me. Was able to make it to Liberal.
They need to do something to make these sensors more reliable.
@Big Rob 100% agree. Thank you for the video. I'm glad (figuratively) that someone else has experienced this before and knows what the issue is.
Awesome video, thanks 😊
Thanks for supporting the Channel, I'm happy you liked it.
Tengo el mismo problema puede ayudarme
@@RgRodrigo69 Como te puedo ayudar?
Mines came on today I made it all the way to Peterbilt 2 hours from my house Ana said limp home mode maximum derate. Still waiting
i'm a company guy got same truck more comfy then freightliner mack every once in while def stuff gets screwed up its hard to get truck into regen very important
Do you idle the truck? These truck are all about preventive maintenance. If you wait until the problems come to maintain it, it's to late.
Did you order the cable that goes from your computer to the truck's port, online?
I bought the def quality level sensor from Rush Peterbilt in Houston Texas. Be careful buying online, there's a lot of fakes, especially on Amazon and Ebay.
Question hopefully you see this assp. I’ve dealing with this issue for the past 2 months I’ve had the dozer changed def pump and filters 10k in the hole. My question is. Since it’s not the pump or dozer it’s this my problem.
What code are you getting? Is it doing what mine was doing?
Where can you get Cummins insite program
Get it directly from Cummins.
Hi Rob thanks for this video.
That’s computer is yours and what is the program I replace the same part last night in a truck stop and I can not take the limp mode out any recommendations? Tia
Thanks
The program is called cummins insite. You need to have a computer that meets the requirements of the program, Google cummins insite computer requirements. Did you swap the sensor without reading the code?
I have a Paccar. I call the dealer and they told me pretty sure it was the lever sensor because the code that I get was def poor quality.
So I replaced and drain all the def and still is on limp mode!!
Thanks for the help and the video!!
@@lazylazy1536 you're welcome. The software for paccar is called Davie.
Otr performance will be your best friend. Best scanner for owner operators.
What program or software were you using?
Cummins insite.
If you have a cummins, cummins insite and cummins quickserve online service manual will help you fix everything.
@@RobertsLife For How much?
@@ThinkEagle7 cummins insite is around $700 from Cummins, but you can find people that sell it online for cheaper, Cummins quickserve online is free, you just need to set up a free account.
@@RobertsLife Does this also apply to Cummins Engines that are on International Trucks?
