What the software patch does is to send spoof code that the SCR and DPF system is working fine. You must monitor the DEF tank manually because the gauge will not work with this fix. Paccar will force you to sign a waiver that states if you let the tank run dry and kill the SCR your responsible. The real problem is the heater valve is allowing to much heat and frying the chips. This should be a recall but they are being really careful on information so they can treat it like a bulletin.
I had mine replaced once. Why the techs don’t know to do this to prevent damage to the circuit board is nuts. The codes popped up indicating erratic readings so I’m guessing there’s water damage to the replaced unit. I wished I would’ve known this before it happened again.
Good job trucker. Stay safe, keep them wheels rolling.

the issue is that the hot water valves leak and over heat the tank and opens the bottom of the sensor, there is a service letter about it.
Good advice, thank you sir.
Actually it is true. I have direct information from my International Truck dealer because my sensor and wiring just went out.
But grease can melt and run down to the board.
Thanks.
What codes did you have?
Spn 3031
Although your video helped me You dragged on quite a bit talk faster get straight to the point sorry don’t mean to be an ass
why not just put silicone?
Grease is just what I had at the time. Silicone is a good idea, though.
