Regarding the cards, there is a video of the 28 tackles that PSdT made. None of them were close to being a card.
    Others can learn from this.
The film "Concussion" is worth the watch.
I thought the Frizell card was cynical and worth a red card (he was taking out our hooker - probably a targeted player).
As for the Kiwi cynically disrupting Faf getting to the ball when we were within 5m of their line at the start of the match - I thought that should have been the first card!
(If the Kiwi's didn't have a policy of "give away a penalty if it prevents a try", I would be more accommodating.)

Kolbe and Arendse: MVPs of the final. The two smallest guys had the most impact. Arendse’s try saving tackle on Rieko is one example but when dropping back to take the kick you need lots of experience to know exactly the right time to rush up on the winger to cut him off if the opposition decide to run it, like Kolbe did in the 72nd minute, otherwise if you’re a split second off the winger is free to score which probably would’ve happened if Jordan got the ball because he only had one more man to beat.

there were three MVP . They were Bongie, Kriel and Kwagga. I did not put PSTD there because he was the best player on the field in the final but if you are looking at shutting down attacks, it was Kriel as much as, especially people from Cape Town will not admit it, He did. Bonbo was the most needed, and Kwagga was always stealing

I think if Mannie Libbook can sort out his goal kicking and start being 80-90% consistent then I think that he will be the greatest flyhalf in the history of South Africa, I think that the world cup was a cycle too soon perhaps.

Goalkeepers are given a red card when they go for the ball and their hand touches the striker, causing him to trip. Even when it's unintentional. But no football fan complains that "it's spoiling the game". Same with unintentional tripping of a player in the penalty area, with that player obviously diving.

Bongi unfortunately got injured in the early stages of both RWC finals. Can't be considered the MVP if he wasn't around to win the final.

Bongi was the most vital player. Am replaced Mapimpi instead of a recognised hooker. Line outs, scrums not a factor in the final, won by a whisker. Rassie reckless here. Nearly cost us.

I'm surprised about your viewpoint of the red card. It was a very poor tackle, moving upward and shoulder straight to the jaw. All games of recent time have been officiated like this. Its very dangerous play and he deserved the red.

Disagree Kane's was a RED all day long they set those standards in previous games often at Boks costs. We dont ask for asymmetric numbers but it was a red & Siya's was less than Kanes.

Well, big counter argument to your red card argument… PSDT. 28 tackles, most of the dominant without getting a card. It can be done! That’s proof that a tackle like Cane did never has to happen. If us, Ireland and France has already gotten the guys to not make tackles like that, give it another year and most if not all of the top teams would have worked it out of their players

The Boks will never win a WC again in the way they won in 2023. Look at how the game has evolved in the last four years alone, the Boks also had the perfect blend of experienced campaigners that won the 2019 WC mixed with exciting new talent, and lets be honest a good amount of luck, Ref/TMO decisions going our way. The 2027 WC will look very different, as many of the 2023 Boks will no longer be there, but we have good talent coming through that is an exciting prospect for the Boks

Thanks guys, the only red card should have been Frizell for a professional cynical takeout of Bongi in the 3rd minute. Watching that 'crocodile roll' I could see that the technique used was a learned deliberate one to damage Bongi's knee and remove our only specialist hooker. I don't understand why this is not being addressed, and it only makes sense that Came was carded because we all knew that Frizell got away lightly. Interested to see if anything further vibes from that but I ain't holding my breath.

Don't agree about the red card at all. It was definately a red. It would have been in any other game also... why not in the final? Cane was upright in the tackle and didn't even try to go low.
Siya's yellow was also the right decision as he went horisontal into the contact. He also went for the ball en from their hit the head. I totaly agree with both decisions.

I disagree on the red card lads. The ABs have been the most ill disciplined team in rugby the past 4 years, the tackle technique from Cane was non-existent and the right conclusion made. Does it suck that it happened in the final? yes it sucks, but the blame lies on the ABs coaching and Sam Cane himself

50/50 decisions went for us because refs and their assistants are terrified about what will happen to them and their families after the game!!!!!!! The fanbase is rabid and it's something we need to really address once the euphoria has settled.

The red card was deserved. All players know what the rules are. Bend your knees, angle your hips, and go low. No head contact. Even Portugal players know how to tackle how can NZ player don't. Are they coached well enough?
This feels like people affording the All Black the status of "exceptional" again. NO!!!
