Scotty, we are going to miss you. Would I love for you to send us a selfie with a BOK jersey when you land... a rugby man through and through.. all the best, and we hope SA treated you well, Sir
I'm going to miss scotty in this pod, when will he be back again, his insights are rich with rugby knowledge, and so as the money man. my score prediction will be 23-20 Boks will win.
Great show again. Understand your frustration Scotty 😂 So great to having you visit South Africa and appear regularly on the show. Both of you connect well together and give great reviews and post game shows. Thank you From Durban Score Boks 28-18
I'm very confused by this because it's not like the Springboks have been hugely dominant. Barely scrapped through the WC, barely scrapped through last week. Already lost to Ireland at home this year. A hiding from the ABs on Auckland lady year. Is this really the best South Africa can do? And since WW2 really? I've lost some respect for SA rugby with all this talk about how a non dominant team is the greatest in their history. But I guess that's how much the ABs have dominated, it must be a huge relief for the SA fans to finally get a small, non dominant string of victories over NZ
@@Hatunrumioc What are you talking about? This is South Africa's most dominant team. The results speak for themselves. New Zealand dominated during a time when not many teams came close. What you fail to understand (nay, refuse to understand) is that this IS South Africa's most successful period - period!. Winning back to back WC is VERY hard to do! and no other team has done that besides NZ. The reality is South Africa has remained the most consistent of all the teams, despite the fact that other countries have gotten better, yet South has still beaten them. They know how to win the big games.
@@Hatunrumioc The reason you’re confused is that you’re focusing on the wrong things. You’re fixated on what this team hasn’t done or its flaws. But that’s not how history is judged. In 20 years, people won’t remember the losses or the close wins; they’ll remember that this team won two World Cups, beat the British & Irish Lions, and, if they win today, reclaimed the Freedom Cup for the first time since 2010. Every great team has tough matches and narrow victories. Even the All Blacks in 2015 only beat the Boks by two points, and that was against a young Pollard, Kriel, and Eben.
This match will end like this: Boks 24 VS 18 All Blacks . It's going to be a game of big resolve, and super cagy I think. Boks want that Freedom Cup in the cabinet 🇿🇦
34 - 27 to Boks What is it with these guys? Previous week Kevin couldn't see the All Blacks beating Boks and Scott bet on the All Blacks. Now they reverse... This is a better Bok side than last week. Rassie going for the jugular.
Don't see how playing a flanker with a bashed nose going for the jugular I think siya costs them game. Wouldn't surprise me he's off before 30 mins if I was razor I'd send the ABs out to hit him hard every time he gets the ball... legally of course 😅
Scott is a great rugby commentator. I have really enjoyed his insites. I am no angel, but have been a bit surprised at the number of 'F' bombs being dropped on this and other channels of late. I don't find it offensive, but I thought it was a no-no for public broadcasting. Here's hoping the Boks pull it off on Saturday, I am waiting for that magic performance this season like the thrashing of the AB's at Twickenham before the WC.
ABs are the notorious for their response to a loss, and the Boks struggle to find the emotional energy to get up 2 weeks in a row. But then the ABs felt like they were playing their second test with the way they came out the blocks, and there is no complacency from the Boks after that squeak through. So while history says ABs to win this, but this is not the same Boks. Lots of nervous excitement
The Boks have learned to do it and well! They did it in the World cup, three in a row. The Wallabies and now the AB. Sometimes we can't rely on historical patterns. Sometimes we make history.
I think the abs win for 5 reasons. 1 the team has had 20% more time together, new team. 2 scott Barrett and Sam Cane will be fitter, that was their first starts for ages.3. The Abs want it a little bit more, 4. Capetown is a happy hunting ground. 5. Bokkes are inconsistent against Abs traditionally.
As a neutral England fan, I think the Boks will take it again this week. They’ve got a more settled side than the All Blacks and they’ve got that bench which means the pressure never lets up for the full 80. There won’t be a lot in it but I think SA will win by less than 7 points. 29-24 Springboks.
I've a feeling NZ will edge it, just like Ireland edged the second test in SA. The boks have great strength in depth but there is nothing between the top sides. It'll be about whoever wants it more on the day and NZ won't want to leave without a win.
It seems like both teams dont want to lose this weekend. Building squads has come second to winning. So yeah lower score, bit more conservative with the nerves and tension.
MM, a lot more tactical kicking than last week? That's almost impossible. There were 58 kicks last week. Considering the ball was probably only in play for 50 something minutes, I put it to you MM that your comment was not really well considered 🤔 . Great pod anyway 👍
It started with the Kolbe penalty, trapped in the ruck after the first tackle of the game from the kick off, which put us on the back foot + the knock on & missed line out from which the ABs produced counter attacks, as well as our missed tries. Mistakes on our part, not from AB initiative and creativity😊
I don't expect SA to start as poorly and turn over the ball and possession as much again, NZ missed their chance last week. I actually like this NZ lineup better(other than Lienert-Brown still on the bench) but don't expect SA to have as many handling errors.
The Boks could/should have scored minimum 3 more tries last weekend. The grubber through for KL could have been a try if he scooped up the ball or the ball bounced favourably when he toed it. The one Fasi break should have been a try had Fasi passed the ball to the inside instead of the grubber kick for Kolbe on the outside. And the Jordi intercept pass would have seen Siya under the sticks, had that pass from De Alende came off. All 3 of these 50/50 chances went against the Boks. It will be very darn sad if it happened again this weekend. Take off the Taylor double banking try and the Jordi intercept bit of luck, and the scoreline would have been waaay different. Cheers gents.
I reason that the ABs , if the Boks play well I.e. don't throw intercept passes( and compete in the line outs) and the Ref. penalize the sneeky tactics of the All Black scrum, it can get bad for the ABs.
@@glenntree5401 The mighty ABs scrum felt the pressure from the Bokka , so the tactic was to hook the ball quickly and collapsed the scrum on their ball.
You got it Scottie, nothing worse than having to deal with a machine. The worst is when direct marketing has the audacity to send you an automated message.😠I will never buy that co's product.
I think Scott’s take on the ABs non-selection of overseas players is wrong. He’s looking at it from a NH perspective. The mismatch between the number of quality players generated in NZ and the pool of money to pay them is too stark; Super Rugby would devolve overnight into something resembling Australian club rugby. And that in turn would destroy the player pipeline.
AB’s have become underrated. Crazy to think. They threw away last weeks game with a bench that came on and crapped themselves lol Ofa for all his experience took an unworthy gamble, Finau gets sat down his first play, proceeds to be penalised for the dumbest reason. Cortez decides he’s a flyhalf and gets charged down in AB’s 22. ALB and Telea did absolutely nothing… what I’m getting at is, I DOUBT this will happen again. I’m expecting the AB’s turn show up in vintage fashion.
Mistake to go 5-3, we need that forward dominance. Siya has a smashed face could be off early, PSDT is on high mileage, Ruan & Elrich are new and could dip... WLRX & Canaan soft on defence, with Telea coming on, slippery as fcuk.
Canaan Moodie was picked as a 20 yr old for the 2023 rugby World Cup purely because of his defence not his explosive attack that's why he's one of the few players that play on the wing, centre and full back bruv because of his solid defense in the backline
Razor is trying to mitigate the impact of the Bomb Squad - going to try and establish a greater buffer before the Bomb Squad is launched, and hoping that the grey hair on the bench will help carry them through the last 20 minutes. Rassie has created an imbalance in the last quarter (thanks to the abyssal depth of the Bok Squad) that no international team can match in this cycle.
In Wcup boks had to do it 3 times and they did 3x1point wins. They did it against all offs. We lost to Ireland because Manie mised 5 kicks in wcup. In our head we won, thats why they had to win 3 games to be champs. Polly and willie knows how to win.
