Authors: “This gamebook promises an epic fantasy adventure!”
Me: “Cool! What character can I be? A barbarian? A thief? Maybe a wizard?”
    Authors: “Even better: An accountant!”

I've read the Amazon reviews in English and Spanish and it seems that the people who have played it are really enjoying this gamebook. It has 5 stars: 'A unique experience', 'A series of gamebooks that evolves into a vibrant ecosystem', 'Unmissable Adventure awaits you'...

Awesome, this game sounds pretty cool because of the deep and interactive bookkeeping! It's the perfect kind of game for a solo gamer while traveling, just take the books with you in your pack and play as much as you want, whenever you want.

I'm glad you covered this because this is exactly how i felt when he was teaching it.

    I think you're right, this should've been a video/app game.
Or if you want something physical, perhaps this could've been better as a 'pick-up-and-deliver' board game with cards, dials, trackers etc to make it easier to keep track of everything and make the calculations required.
Either way, it certainly sounds like it should not have been a gamebook.

Thanks for an honest review. This is apparently the kind of game that I would like to own and read, but not play. It is impressive, in its own way. -toby

Darn, from the title I thought it was going to be the Black Company choose your own adventure.

Take those rules, plus the texts from "On the Beach" and "Waiting for Godot": feed the whole lot to an AI. Forget Call of Cthulhu, *that's* a horror campaign

Wow, were the writers accountants by any chance? I was waiting for you to tell us there was a part where you need to calculate your taxes too. 😆

If I am doing that much book work I better be getting paid.

Yeah, too much calculation and too much detail for something that doesn't seem that interesting. And they could have just given you flat numbers to add or subtract, but no, you have to calculate the proper percentages of every step. And for some reason the combat is just super simple! I would prefer to use one system for as much of the game as possible.

Nah, this is their beginner's tier gamebook.
The calculations and detail in this are easy compared to their advanced gamebook:
Fantasy Property and Life Insurance Company, where you delve into college level statistics and actuarial calculations to determine what insurance premiums you should charge all sorts of fantasy races and creatures and their possessions.
Can your agents make a profit for you? Will the Chancellor of the Exchequer accept all your tax deductions? Will the damage from a Dark Lord's invasion force you to dip into your reserves and reinsurance? Thrilling adventure awaits!!

This looks more a job than a game.

Wow, this game sounds terrible because of the extremely tedious book keeping.
